I've been doing research on this camera all night. You surely sold me on this camera. I have the the g85 in the cart with the kit lens, 25 mm f1.7 lens, and the 45-150 f4.0 lens as well. I believe it is going to be worth the solid grand. You also get a sub. Do some follow up lens, too. Thanks for the video.

I actually bought the m50 myself too as my b-camera.
I found its color Science didn't match up with my Gh5.
I then dumped it too for the G85 after I did a bit of research.
That was June of 2020, and I haven't regretted the decision yet...

I've only had the G85 for a few weeks now but I like it more every day. Not missing the M50 at all. I also bought a used GH-3 to use as my B camera so I'm now all in on Panasonic.

I'm not the most familiar with the GH3, but I'm sure it's still a capable little beast in 2021.
Panasonic was ahead of thier time in my opinion, when they created their G series cameras 🎬
That auto crop panning is dope! I like this camera a lot bro. lf l didn't want the canon m50 so bad it would probably be my next one but l'm pretty much obsessed with the all white m50

The m50 is a great camera, and that all white body does look dope af 💯 Anything from Canon really has great colors.
One thing to keep in mind with the m50, is that it crops in when you shoot in 4k so you lose a bit of the sensor size & also you lose the dual pixel auto-focus as well when shooting in 4k 🤦♂️ other than that, it's a nice little beast 👑

@@Mike_Mandigo I use it for all of my projects except the low light stuff, with a decent lens and a nd filter the colours are pretty nice. Switching to the GH5 soon!

The 4k crop mode is amazing for b-roll. Unlimited recording limit is amazing too. Inexpensive lenses are available. This camera was way way ahead of it's time. Very relevant camera in 2021. Also the menus are in my opinion the best. Also the best camera app ever. I'm rocking a g9 and also would get a g85
I agree with you there Steve H on the 4k live cropping. I was considering the g9 also, but then I decided on the GH5. Btw, sorry for the late response.

@@Mike_Mandigo I started with the g95 and upgraded to the g9. It's an amazing camera I like the menus and interface. I have a Fuji too but prefer the operation of the Panasonic. I purchased for video however I became facinated with street photography. The g9 at the sales price is impossible to beat with it's features. I was thinking of maybe getting a g85 for the bad weather street days. The g85 very relevant today. However most content pushing TH-camrs don't want people to know that. Great video!!

Love the clean crisp images it can provide and produce 📸
I've been editing with Filmora for 4 yrs now. I use a combination of that, with Paint.net & Gimp, which is a free version of photoshop, to produce the videos for this channel.
How long have you been making videos for The 5th Volt? Do you do your own editing as well ?
@@Mike_Mandigo I'll check out Filmora, haven't heard of it before. I started my channel in January 2019 and have filmed over 2 years with just an iPhone 5c and then with a Samsung S10 Android phone. I thought to upgrade my equipment with a better camera, but boy, is this a steep learning curve :D I've edited most my videos using Camtasia and lately I switched to Mojavi as it handles 4k better. My biggest challenges are: 1) low light close ups of my synths for which I need a better lens which is $$$, 2) better storytelling through shorter scenes of varying angles and cuts, 3) better audio quality by spending more time on equalisation, compression etc. and 4) one of these days I should learn music theory and get better at playing my synths :D
I like how you're approaching your videos and watching the videos you've made already gives me a lot to think about and experiment with. Please keep doing more tutorial style videos or even just vlogging ... Your vlog about age was great!

I first started recording my hiphop music on a Samsung tablet in 2017, so I know if you have determination you can accomplish much...

I bought this camera beginning of 2019 Awesome camera for Photography and Video. For me 1 only 1 problem is the autofocus but You learn to live with it. No regrets at all

@@Mike_Mandigo It might of been G7 as I ordered it first or a web cam I don't rwmember to be honest anything past that in Feb 2019 is a G85 and gopro hero 8 bkack, I bought g7 and returned it 2 weeks after then got G85. Most of my Action videos is Gopro anything not in motion G85

Bought the g80 body only to represent my water damaged g2.Really love the camera.I bought it for £349.Then I bought a used 12-60 kit lenses a couple of months ago for £149.Again great lens and camera.Well worth it.

i work at wedding cinematography , my camera is fujifilm xt3 and sony a6500, and oneday my friend indroduce me to this m4/3 system wich is g85, the next day he borrow me his camera, and guess what? i suddenly fallin in love with lumix, the price is a steal, the lens is cheap, the only issue is the auto focus, but if u try to master it the focus of lumix g85, this is really the best buck for your bank hands down 👍,

@@Mike_Mandigo yes i already did, like two times i guess, it was prewedding and the ceremony and the wedding reception, i use prime lens 25mm f1,7 and the zoom lens olympus 12-50mm, mostly i shoot manual so the lacking of af doesnt really bother me an the af not really that bad actually, sometimes when i use gimbal i use the af and result not that bad i give it 7 from 10, and im still learning using the g85, i hope i can get the g85 anytime soon really love this camera and the m4/3 system
@@bagusridho329 I've heard many good things about the Olympus lenses, but I've yet to try them out...
I find if I use the "one-area" autofocus setting that it does fairly good when using a Panasonic lens.
I like to use that setting for shooting vlog type videos

Nice rave brave. It's still a great camera in 2022. I use mine still to this day and it hasn't let me down yet. I love that it has no 30 min recording limit like other cameras 📷

@@Mike_Mandigo most pumped up feature is the IBIS, unlimited recording, best for making videos, has tons of options, the Cinematic look video.. has multiple lens option.

@@ravebrave8866 I haven't tried that lens, but I checked out a review from Geeky Nerdy Techy on it and he had some pretty good things to say about it. It's very sharp and has reasonably good auto focus as well the mega o.i.s. is an added bonus for stabilization.
