RETURN TO 18 ROAD | Mountain Biking Fruita with Chasing Epic

- เผยแพร่เมื่อ 9 ก.พ. 2025
- The first time I rode Fruita and 18 Road it was just after I got the Bronson in 2016. Now I’m back with a group on my latest Chasing Epic trip.
This was a perfect start to an amazing trip. A few little bits and pieces to push all of our abilities, but mostly fun and flow!
I'm planning on doing another Chasing Epic trip in September, but I do not expect needing to make a public announcement. Returning customers get first dibs and 6 of the 12 spots have already been sold 😮. This week I'll open registration to my Patreon people and I expect it to sell out.

Brian, I've been subbed to you and watching your videos since before you hit 1,000 subs - back when you were making Whistler videos in the summer of 2016. What an incredible 2 years these have been for you. I've spaced out a bit and haven't been watching videos as much due to school and other responsibilities, but I had to click when I saw you were riding 18 Road. Last summer, my Dad and I took a road trip out to Colorado (we're from Florida) due to the inspiration from your own channel and Alexander's. We happened to ride 18 road, among many other places.
Thanks for all you do for the community - the claim that you're inspiring riders around the world to get out on the bike is legitimate, and I guarantee it's happening more often than you realize. The fact that you're up to 146k subs at this point is simply incredible, and you're only going up from here. Congrats, dude, and thank you.
Dude, thanks so much for that note. I seriously appreciate hearing that my videos actually inspire ACTION!!
The only problem with mountain biking is that sometimes we forget to actually have a look at the amazing scenery we're blasting through.
SO sad.
Bah, scenery is overrated compared to THRILLS!
Wizler71 i know right
Well-said.
Haha, I edit those parts out mostly!
Such wide open and flowing single track, very cool!
It's a great mix of beauty and flow!
Love it, no BS, straight to the point of showing us the trail, your personality is one that you never get tired of!
Thanks !!
Yeah, Colorado Springs representing! I can't WAIT to ride these trails this fall. Great vid, as always, Brian.
Gotta get there!!
Gotta love 18 Rd/ Fruita area trails. Sweet video man and I had to laugh when I realized my buds and I rented that same house about a month ago! Too funny. Cheers and congrats on that Rallon.
Haha that's great!
Man, I really liked this ride! Fruita looks to be right in my wheelhouse.
You've gotta get there dude!
It rivals Moab. I grew up there. Best place if you love outdoor activities!
wow! the last time i rode that trail was almost 18 years ago.... watching your video was so cool! it was like i was there all over again. i gotta get back out there.
thanks for the video brian.
That's great! I hope you make it back out there!
The views riding on the ridge is just unreal! Great video Brian it's so dope how many people you have inspired to ride.
Thanks Tommy, it's crazy!
I just rode PBR for the first time a few weeks ago. Gotta go back and spend way more time there. Looking forward to the rest of your Fruita adventures, I never get tired of seeing western Colorado!
Nice! it's a magical place
I’m sure you hear it all the time but. Thanks for inspiring me to MTB. At the end of last season I started, and this past month I’ve been going every weekend. I’m loving every minute of it thanks to you man ! ❤️
That's fantastic!!
You got it right Brian, best lesson I learned riding new gnarly sections or big features was "Commit, or eat shit!" Committing halfway is a sure way to get hurt!
So damn true!! Thanks Ryan
Hey BK,
Thanks for the motivation to get out and ride! You've also motivated alot of people to get out and start youtubing, myself included. So, thanks for that too!
That's great to hear!
That view at 5:42... Holy moly, endless singletrack, I wanna ride that!
Pretty ridiculous!
BKXC hitting jumps!! woohoo!! What a difference a year makes and sweet arse Bike !! Hit those trails with my crew last September for the first time. Nice video...one of these days I will join you on one of your sponsored rides.
Awesome!!
You picked the perfect spot to stop and be grateful. Spiritual stuff out there on the bike :)
It really hit me!
Thats such a cool looking trail!
One of the best!
You are a total motivator, my friend. Keep it rollin'
Thanks so much!
Great video Brian 👍 looking forward to the rest of the riding this week 👍👍👍 .
Thanks man!
Another beautiful landscape. And the the ridge line looks awesome
It was so damn cool!
Sometimes I just be sat at home , chilli. Watching tv and then I’m like “ I got a mtb right behind me in my living room . So I get my ass up , throw on the helmet ,grab some water , and I’m outta here haha 😆👍🏽👍🏽 , You’re an inspiration Bro like I’ve said from day one 👍🏽
Haha love it
Awesome Bri , I’m so glad to be following the journey from all those videos ago man , thanks so much for keeping it going 👍🏽👍🏽🤟🏾🌲🌲🌳🌳
Glad you're still here Paul!
Heck yeah! Those trails look awesome out there, id love to visit in the near future
I hope you do!!
Badass, and love seeing you recently starting to jump too! 👍🤘
Thanks dude!
Looks like the trails you've ridden at Spain! I feel so bad for not watchinh this video early. Busy rockin the bike yesterday.
Yes! Similar to some of the stuff in Ainsa!
Very motivational Brian! Love this video...great place to ride, great people!
Glad you dug it dude!
Great to see Ben again. He's a great guide!
Nice!
Wow, that ridge line part reminds me of your New Zealand trip! That roller coaster trail where a chainless race went down! What an awesome place!
Yes!! VERY similar to Rude Rock
Well, it is mindless entertainment, but it's also mesmerizing entertainment - love the scenery
Haha good to hear!
Woooooow
The ridge lines and that scenery. Holy shit it's amazing watching you ride that trail. Amazing, keep it up!
It's pretty fun! Thanks
That ridge trail looked amazing... Incredible location, scenery and riding.
Something special!
This looks slow compared to the Nate Hills video, but you're actually going really fast. Just shows how incredible the pros are. Truly another level.
Yep
YEEEEEEEEAAAAAAHHHHHHH Brian , hitting those jump gaps dude 👍🏽👍🏽✅✅✅🌲🌲
Trying!
I was there the same day and weekend as you and I was so bummed I missed being able to run into you!! Awesome weather to ride in!!
Ah crazy!
Love your videos man! And it's true! Your videos do motivate ppl. At least they did for me.. Upgraded my bike a bit and having more fun than ever riding with my friend. We're evven thinking about creating a small local trail in the forest. Even tho we ride sort of cheap hardtails, we manage to make it work and have fun while doing it! :)
That's great! Love hearing that
That ridge line is soooo swwweeeett!
Something special!
One of your best Brian 👌🏽.. Looked like an amazing day
Thanks dude! It was solid
That ridge line you're riding in the intro looks sick🤘
It's so cool!
Great Video footage Brian! Some of those views are stunning, Keep up the good work, Can't get enough of your videos they are absolutely brilliant! Wish I was lucky enough to go trying out all those amazing trails haha! Like from me man
Thanks so much!
Lived in junction my whole life, just road 18 rd for the first time on Sunday. PBR was one of my favorites
Fantastic !
Fruita/Grand Junction is on the list. Getting out and riding new places is so much fun!
Yeah man, you can get a super solid four days out there!
Fruita’s got some flow, I’ve gotta get out there! Steve will also walk 20 miles if you break your bike- what a guy
Hahaha, some of the various services he offers!
Some sick flow trails! I dont know what it is but I LOOOVE fast ridgelines! The look of just the trail and the drops on the side is so rad
Yeah, it's so damn amazing!
That heat you could almost feel it from here awesome 👏 content Brian
Haha hell yeah!
Beautiful land and nice sunny ride ... !!!

Love that kind of fast anf flowy trail!
Me too!!
aawww maaan that trail looks like so much fun bro!!!
It's a great one!
Agree building the trail on the ridge line was genius, just wouldn't want to be up there if a thunder storm rolled in.
Exactly!!
Wow it's amazing how much better on the bike your getting bro 👍
Always trying!
Just rode this last month! Great video, I am working on mine now!
Awesome trail. Looks FUN!!!
Like a rollercoaster!
What a dreamscape!
Indeed!
Just finished 45 mi of riding over 3 days of the fruita fat tire festival out there at 18 rd and even rode a beautiful purple Rallon! The Orbea guys were super cool and it was a beast of a bike, not my favorite I rode, but still super awesome!
I was there too and I also tried a Rallon (mostly because of BKXC). Super fun weekend but I liked the Evil Following better.
That's great!
Another great video! Loved it, man!
Thanks so much Jason!
Your jumping skills and confidence seem like they are greatly improving Brian!
Always trying to get better!
Your riding videos are the best.
Thanks Jed!
I see the scenery. Didn’t hit this place until 55 years old or so. Been there twice, hope to again Sept Oct 2021.👍 wish I had a group to join me. PBR👍
Ooooh! Alex took the other half! Now I get it!😂
By the way you should give that bkxc topcap a colour, I think that would look cool
That could be cool!
Bryan that trail is on my bucket list bro, damn awesome trail.
Hell yes!
You're so lucky brother, keep up the good work that you're doing
Thanks man!
That looked sooo fun!! I need to to get over there to do that ride.

Thanks so much!
Never seen so much green in the desert! Looks like you're getting good at jumps, too!
Yeah, I think it's probably all brown by now!
Very nice! I need to make the drive out there and ride that one, looks like a blast!
I hope you do!
Nice Brian your getting good at proper bunny hops and jumping. You did a quick video on cornering. Any chance doing a simple one on bunny hops? I know plenty others online but would be interested in your steps because afaik you've been getting better at jumping over past year. Thanks!
I'm not much for teaching, but I was in one of Seth's bunny hop videos and it was really good: th-cam.com/video/tMPPGQCT8mE/w-d-xo.html
Ok cool I'll give it a watch :) I think i've seen that a long time ago actually but will watch again
I dont know if you have read the Over The Edge book on the area --- The founder ( Troy I think ) is fanatical about keeping trails single track -- I don't think a lot of riders think about keeping their tires on the trail when they have some one passing or taking a rest -- you are in a great position with your viewers to remind riders -- actually teach good trail manners ;-)
It's a good point!
Looks like a great trail to ride!
It is!
What a view 😳
Almost all of my local trails are in forests...
...need to go on a bike vacation...
Nice!!
It is amazing cool trail man! Wow! I want it! Best!
And the big, large right turn down..what da...?! 😰
Go out there and get it!
Loved Fruita when I was there. Is that Hot Tomato pizza? Good stuff! Hope to go back in a month or so.
Yep, it was most definitely Hot Tomato pizza... a must-stop any time you're in Fruita!
The world famous!
5:38 single track as far as the eye can see, nice!
Pretty amazing spot!
Nice trail. Cool to see you hitting some jumps. I'm on my way to the Doc, smashed my hand on MTB.
Ahhh brutal!
Nice little trifecta there.
o yeh the rallon doing his job nice bike
Doing all the work for me!
For the sun, I wear a thin baselayer which covers my arms and leg sleeves for the legs. It's a great way of limiting exposure and I never get tanlines anymore!
Nice!
Very cool, looks like a great time. 👍
Thanks Mark!
Amazing views👍Nice jumps ☺✌
Thanks Denis!
Beautiful trails
Thanks George!
That looks like a trail where it is very easy to get confident and then wash out on the dryness.
Hahah exactly
Man if my bike didn't get stolen last week I'd be riding after watching this:(
Brutal!
didn't finish the video yet but i dont need to to say, great video! loved watching it as always!

Super skinny!!
5:24 it look like the Chinese Wall for Mountainbikers. So nice 👍🏻
Totally!
Just got back from camping and riding there. Mojoe and Zippity were amazing, but if I were to do one trail over and over, it would probably be PBR.
great staff... so inspiring...
Thanks dude!
your welcome
Looks like a fun trip so far
Solid start!
"Commit or eat shit"- I live by this but usually still end up eating my fair share of shit lol! Love it man
Hahaha, fully committed to getting shitted!
Wow i wanna ride that trail, its so dope 😍
SO cool!
Love that area. Last time we were there, we shuttled PBR about 6 or 7 times!!
That sounds amazing!
It was. We were feeling especially lazy that day. Might have been all the PBR's the night before!! ;)
Great trails! Cheers from Austria.
Thanks Max!
18 Road Rocks!
So good!
