Any responsible country needs a bottom line. NATO's border exercises in Belarus require China to come forward to ensure that they do not cross the line. Many countries cannot learn from the Indian government's approach. Sometimes they represent southern countries, sometimes Israel, sometimes the G7, and sometimes the BRICS. This has nothing to do with NATO. These are counterinsurgency/terrorism drills. This is about internal control. Belarus has had some issues with the citizens recently as did Kazakhstan. China’s retired military soldiers started protesting again last week.
