Comfort seat! Bike seats used to be comfortable - then manufacturers realised they could plonk a cheap, soft, poorly-padded excuse for a seat on the bike and sell you a “comfort” seat for £400 - which is often no better. BMW and KTM are masters at it.
Bit like main stands, and mudguards that used to do what they were put on the bike for, at no extra cost plus no extra for a different colours as well.
@@beetleything1864 yup, cutting out some of the OEM foam to fit the gel in, then staple the cover back down. There are plenty of guides out there, iirc I used one from LCR
Very much appreciating your reviews, matter of fact unlike so many histrionic youtubers. By the way, I have the same helmet in exactly that colour scheme. I could be tempted by this bike. Have been riding a Ninja 1000sx for the last four years and the more relaxed riding position could be a real plus as I travel on my bike. It's down on power but it's considerably lighter which maybe makes up for the fewer poneys. I've never tried a triple so I am very curious.
Interesting video having seen dash on the motorbike on triumph website it looks quite good the only question is how big is the petrol tank on the bike because it’s the 800 model and not the 600 is there any difference in the number of miles you can do on the bike
Don’t think so The 1200 rs and rr probably sold very poorly hence why you can buy them with a advertised discount of 2000€ for the rs and 3000€ for the rr
How does this compare with Suzuki 800 Touring. I understand this bike is spec’s better but is priced higher. Wonder which is better a value for money when factored in
Everything seems perfect with this bile, except the tft display. FFS truimp even yamaha whos known for adapting new tech is giving its new bike line up a new dashboard that can intergate google maps.
Consistently one of my favourite bike reviewers, the one I can trust. I love this bike but always thought the seat looks thin and sure enough you called it out for knotting your undercarriage. Keep striking that right balance of honesty versus marketing. Hi from Australia. 🦘
The tiger 660 IMO is anything but bland. Its a very capable machine, and the new 800 with that extra power will be able to handle as much hard riding as you want to do. If you were to pull the fairing off you could see the bike is very much like a MT09 or a Z900. OH and the Speed Triple is no doubt an awesome machine even if its overkill for most riders.
Well the 1 thing I certainly don't like about this bike is it's silhouette. It looks like a cube - too tall, too short wheelbase. Triumph Tiger Sport 1050 looked so much better from the side.
Nice looking bike, and I'll take your word for the engine's performance. But why Triumph didn't put a complete cruise control in the bike (w/speed adjustment) is a stumbling point. The dash, too ... they have TFT displays they could have put on there. Price? Will it be competitive? Seems the Honda Hornet has changed that whole equation.
I've heard many people comment about the Hornet. Which is a comparison I don't really understand, other than 'it's cheaper'. If you want a bike more suitable for touring, the Hornet probably won't even be on your radar.
I don't think there are many people deciding between these two bikes as they really do very different things. Are they similar in price where you live?
Because BMW sell a TON of their upper end GS which means they can trickle down those TFT screens from the top models downwards by ordering in a larger bulk order. Triumph obviously can't do that cos Triumph's flagship bikes don't sell anywhere near the same volume as GS. Also BMW as a whole is a way larger group, they can afford to take more risks cos even if one division goes bad they can still weather it out, whereas Triumph can't, Triumph only lives on motorcycle sales so they have to run extra lean.
@@TwistofWrist yeah, I did that. English (UK) as well as location. Other videos are ok, but I went back into this one and it's only when I try to cast it on apple tv via iPad. Straight from my iPad, it's fine. If they were all doing it, I'd say it was the Apple tv. Bizarre. Thanks, anyway.
I've been a cyclist riding on a Brooks leather saddle for decades, so EVERY motorbike's seat is pure luxury 😂
Yeah, my road bike saddle is basically a piece of plastic with a cheese slice on it for padding. 😂
Enjoyed this format, nice one !
Thanks matey!

I just do my own gel insert fitment, solves the issues, and only cost a tenner for some gel off of Amazon, and a bit of time is all
@@TheScortUKdo you manage to get it under the original seat cover ?
Its called being a qunt to your customers.

I hope triumph do, too.

My 660 is one of the best bikes I have ever owned out of about 18 bikes which include the 2017 Z900, 2022 GSX-S750, MT 07, Ninja 650 .

Hopefully a Tiger Sport 1200 with shaft drive just round the corner.
Nah, that would make too much sense 😂
With that front fairing I was expecting adaptive aero such as on the Guzzi V100
Is it exactly the same seat on the 660? Can you switch it beetween the two bikes?
Sounds a very impressive machine.

I think they updated the 660 with cruise control and new suspension too

This or Honda 1000 hornet? It’s the hornet all day every day
No Hornet 🐝 in the USA though…plus Tiger is about $2500 more $$$$
150HP is just too much unless you enjoy riding around in 1st and 2nd gear all the time.
You seen the hornet in person yet? Compared to the TS800 the quality is shite.
I mean, apples to oranges comparison as they are aimed at different market segments. Not everyone wants or needs a naked bike with 150bhp.
