I grew up in the country in Georgia. This song and the comments really bring back great memories of me and my cousins running around in the woods, climbing trees, making forts, going fishing, throwing rocks on the gravel roads, eating whatever the seasonal fruit right off the trees, watching my granddad and my uncles field dress and smoked hogs in the fall....oh those were simpler times...the good old days. Also poor was poor, regardless of race. The poor whites and blacks seemed to have gotten along great because they had a lot in common.
Man as I listen to this tears run down my face bc I grew up in the country and couldn't wait to leave...I moved to a city and I tried my hardest to get my Dad to move but he wouldn't but before he passed my Dad said country Now, country Tomorrow, n country Forever now I understand Dad...Rest in Paradise!!
