Hi Dave ..another great film and nice job on the rounder plane.....you have plenty of nice trees for a greenwood chair there....very lucky...congrats on your views and subs. All the very best Harry
Ha ha, Its the man of the hour, Mr. Harry Rogers! Thank you Harry for being my friend. And yes this is my wifes folks property. #0 acres here. I have my moms acreage about 40 miles from here thats even deeper in the sticks.Theres about 100 acres there. I will retire one day there. We are very lucky in the states to have the species of trees we do.
Thank you so much Daniel. Im a quiet kind of guy on a mission to learn. My grandfather and father taught me a lot a a young boy. I have seen my grandfather build a house with no level only a string and a rock. Some thing are simple and we need to keep them that way. I do hope you enjoy what you see and ask questions all you want.
Thank you very much for your answer. I have not had that opportunity to learn in my family, and my day job is another. Now with age, I have become more serious. Although I try to keep it simple and fun for now. I am motivated by doing small projects with manual tools here on youtube, and learning with practice progressively. Breaking slowly the barriers of comfort or what I already know how to do. Thanks for sharing all your knowledge, a hug friend :)
You got all the Irish hits Dave because i have spread the word in Ireland to all my friends Keep them videos coming we love your so relax way of woodworking just like us laid back and no rush
Dave: re: your shavehorse: You made the same mistake I did- you need to raise the pivot point of the dumbhead bar to the highest point that you can. That will give you much better grip and control on the work piece. I was wearing myself out and constantly having to reposition stuff until I figured it out. Of course, my favorite form of exercise is work, so I really didn't mind... I Liked the rounder, another future project for me, for rustic furniture debacles. Cheers!
Sweet. I have been tweaking on that thing for weeks! U should have seen the first head or two i tried. Work in progress. This is how I learn you guys teaching me. Love it!
