      They usually contain 15ml each and most brands come with a refill; a standard bottle of liquid foundation is 30ml. So really, depending on the brand, it’s pretty much the same, plus you get a mirror (great for touchups- a godsend for me because I usually wear makeup, have slightly oily skin, and am frequently in a laboratory where I have to wear goggles so the foundation rubs off my nose) and the brands that sell the refill on its own make it cheaper and more sustainable to keep refilling the old packaging if you like the product and use it long-term.

      I do my makeup during my commute on the train and cushions are the best for this. I also adore their light coverage. Their shaderange overall is not the best, but for pale people like me it's quite good as I struggle to find the correct brightness and undertone among western foundations and I just happen to find my perfect match in one of these cushions.
      I also adore the eyeshadows. Airy light and subtle, which makes them perfect for work. They are also super beginner friendly, so noobs like me can basically not fail. These are literally the only eyeshadow palettes I will pan and probably even repurchase.
      I agree that you will be able to find the same shades across multiple brands, but let's be real: western brands don't differ that much from another either in their colorstory. They all at some point tried to copy the big brands and if you are looking for pretty neutrals, you are probably more limited in the west than on the Korean market.

    Banila co is pretty accessible globally, seen it in European drug stores. I agree with the eyeshadow thing, especially if you like pigment cuz Korean shadows have 0 pigmentation and 0 saturation. • @timo_miko6193
    @timo_miko6193 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    I have some thoughts on this. Cushion foundations are my favorite makeup product - as a very light/fair tone Asian girly living in a western country, western foundations often look too yellow or dark on me! They just aren’t often made with common Asian undertones in mind.
    Since Korean foundation is made from Asia, of course it will be marketed towards more Asian skin tones. Of course the only real downside would be the lack of range and potentially the sponge getting bacteria, but you can also wash the sponge often to minimize this.
    And one good benefit of the cushions is how lightweight and buildable they are. I don’t really go for “full-coverage” looks, I like a more natural look. But if I do want full coverage, I can just apply more layers. Cushion foundations can be controlled easily and are very convenient to apply, you can tap excess foundation on the back of the sponge holder.
    Also, I found that you genuinely don’t need that much on your sponge to get good coverage anyway. I can press my sponge into the foundation once and it can cover half of my whole face already. My Clio mesh glow cushion makes my skin look even and gets rid of my dullness. It’s amazing.
    Because I also like natural looks, I love Korean palettes too. Though it’s true that you probably won’t need a lot of palettes to get the natural colors. But since it is Korean makeup, of course the makeup will be catered to Korean trends, so it really shouldn’t be surprising that there isn’t more “bold” makeup because the Korean trends are more about natural looks.
    And, Korean products tend to be much cheaper than western products, in my experience.
    The way this video showcases these makeup products feels a bit biased. If anyone reads this, please don’t be misled, there are plenty of benefits to these products!

  • @gabrielleviolet3580
    @gabrielleviolet3580 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +8

    Hi, despite the shades being quite small, if you do fit the colour range and you're looking for an easy compact base, cushions are very nice products.
    Compared to any western product I've tried I was surpised to see the effect and the hold of these cushions. They give a very clean even skin tone that makes my skin look quite healthy with a nice glow.
    Most of the time I get a lot of compliments from everyone I know.
    I also noticed that despite having used the cushion for a very long time almost a year (which is kinda bad, but its my favourite product) I never experienced any kind of break outs or any bad effects from it. My skin is quite sensitive.
    As well as the pallettes, despite only having a limited range, there are some that are very pigmented and long lasting. Glittery shadows are very silky and smooth for affordable prices compared to western products.
    If you are going for more subtle shades of browns and just everyday colours. The palletes are very beautiful and high quality.
    These products are very well studied and have been used by many people. Theres a reason why these products sell quite well.
    Maybe, try being more specific with your research and avoid generalizing products to avoid. Give an example of singular products for your viewers to avoid.
    Videos like this aren't informative but quite misleading. Sorry.
    Hope you consider this.

    well as someone who likes subtle and natural makeup, the eyeshadow palettes are definitely different in terms of tone, texture, color, and overall mood. subtle makeup also needs palettes that changes your overall makeup look subtly. so in my opinion, each palette have their unique differences and i wouldn’t say that they all look the same.
    if you prefer more vibrant color that is very pigmented, you wouldn’t really see much difference when looking at the palettes because that’s not what you are really looking for.
    in terms of foundation cushions, a lot of people like to use cushion because they just wanna take out a cushion and use it just as it is without having to take out a foundation bottle, pump it, and use a makeup brush. it might be a little bit more complicated than using a cushion (if you are a newbie, it might be easier to use cushion, but it really depends on what you prefer). there are a lot of cushions that you can choose. from full coverage to medium and light coverage. whatever you prefer. there’s always a reason why so many people use cushion, and i wouldn’t say it is a waste.
    in terms of the colors of the cushions, it is obvious that korean people don’t have a diverse range of skin tone. so typically, there’s only three colors to choose from. so if your skin is more on the darker side, you most likely won’t find a matching foundation for you.

I did lots of research and only stick to four korean eyeshadow palettes, each in different tones, i thought about cushion foundations the same way as this girl does so i only got full bottles (i have 1 from VDL and one from Laneige), i have two Korean pressed contour powders i really like and a lotta different tones of lipstick/liptints! I also prefer the primers much more! But ofc, some things, i just prefer western softglam makeup even as someone who often switches up styles for fun. I will say i prefer rare beauty blush from korean blushes, it's better pigmentation and i find it more satisfying to apply. Although i will admit my fave korean blush is 3CE.
