- FINALLY we have some good weather and great action between this 2014 Nissan GT-R Tuned on Cobb at AMS Performance 3" Intakes, Downpipes, Titan Exhaust and injectors. They get down from a 2nd gear 40ish roll going towards 170mph some runs!! I like both. They get busy when they're not stock. Supra's 2jz is legendary for how far you can modify it to make it compete with damn near anything that rolls fast...also looks fantastic when all dressed up properly...to this very day!

I love gtr's but the supra was way ahead of its time. Toyota should have continued to develop and refine the 2jz. bmw is just now perfecting the inline twin turbo 6 and other companies are following suit
The 2jz is really nothing special. It’s an in-line 6 non NA that’s making 300ft lbs of torque and like 290 something hp. As far as the stock engine goes it’s just not ahead of its time it’s pretty mediocre

The gear ratio in the Supra is too long for the turbo, they should add a turbo drive for less turbo lag
I also love both but gtr is not well tuned u should chnge ur dyno tester or adjuster. We also do drags in pakistan but mostly machines we use is civic eg or civic 95 sedan with h22. D15b. K24 etc

+Breion Bethel The GTR's have DCT, you can change up to fast and 'miss' a gear. I stand under correction my bike has DCT and if you get over eager with the up shifts you might go from 2 to 4 it does go into 3 but your speed is high enough for it to accept the next gear so you 'miss' 3rd and go to 4th.
Tf u talking about it has dual clutch transmission so it wont be possible that the gtr can miss gears asssdick its paddle shifter!

I think the gtr owner should of thought things through before accepting $2,500 race. Thinking he could beat the supra with passenger and as everyone in comments saying a "stock" gtr is just silly.
The problem with the supra is that when it switches gears it slows it down a bit, but then its cool cause when they shift and they slow down the opponent think hes gunna win but nope!!!

Now I'm an all out supra fan not big on the r35's but if they would've done that race from a dig not a roll i don't think it would've ended the same, imo roll racing is for people that cant drive well enough to race from a dig same with people that prep the street for a good launch its a street race not a racetrack.

these gtr's lost... bolt on gtr's make 6-700hp. there are plenty other gtr's that would easily take out this supra. There's a reason why gtr's win the roll races on Texas invitationals

One thing I will say though is the 2jz is a better built motor then the rb and its been slaughtering everything since the early 90s. It took till Nissan released the r35 to really get good competition n they released the LFA which beat the gtr of that year just to remind them who daddy is. Now just like when Nissan gloated about the titan being faster then the 4.7 n they released the 5.7

LFA never beat not even the base model 485hp 1st Gen gtr. Lol... someone's on crack here. Even when the LFA came out they couldn't take out gtrs. There are videos here on youtube proving my statement. Search before you trash talk what you do not know...

+Alexander Ewing +350gtrs only with its dual clutch tranny would it win at equal. From a stand still gtr takes the cake every time. I'm waiting on Honda and Mazda to respond to Nissan's GTR. Personally I think the new NSX will be a threat from stand still considering the three electric motors. That means max torque from zero, plus most of the weight near the rear makes for a better launch. Only downfall with the NSX would be the distribution of weight (for cornering) and the displacement of the engine. 3.5 is not enough. If It was me I would locate the tranny and gearing up front with the 2 electric motors and do something with that. It would be very very close to 50/50 in that case. Im hoping Mazda can use a 3 rotor system in a new RX? and somehow connect it to an electric motor using a common shaft. Maybe even use the turbos shaft to regenerate unused energy. While also using the electricity to spool the turbo('s).
