Hello Toyota Fortuner LTD 4x4 owner here. The video is indeed correct, 4x4 is a better choice when getting the top of the line variant since may times na kailangan ng 4WD especially in poor road conditions. Only difference is when driving under normal road conditions, parang medyo mabigat lang yung 4x4 LTD compared sa 4x2. The stiffness or “tagtag” is also not that bad since having experienced the 1st gen Fortuner, I can say na na-improve narin yung ride quality especially in this LTD variant. Only downside of the LTD variant is walang built in navigation.

When I bought my Fortuner last 2016, di ako nagdalawang isip na piliin ang 4x4. Di pa uso car camping nun at di rin ako offroad enthusiast. So bakit raw 4x4? Well, sa isip ko kasi, "It's better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it." Kumbaga, it's part of my prep for emergency situations as an all-around/bugout vehicle. During our 2 months long Luzon-Vizayas-Mindanao epic roadtrip last 2018, napakaraming beses ko nagamit ang 4x4. Mga times na niligaw kami ni waze sa gitna ng bundok, mga magagandang lugar na mahirap puntahan dahil maputik, matubig, at hindi sementado ang daan. Sobrang useful talaga. Tolerable lang naman ang tagtag, ang importante confident ka sa reliability nung sasakyan mo, toyota yan eh. Kung saan saan na kami umabot, so far never pa kami nagkaabirya. Tapos ngayon usong uso car camping. Masasabi ko, best decision ever na 4x4 binili ko.

Up on this. The only thing that all fortuners must have are side sensors besides the front ones as theyre needed especially on city driving. But overall, the ambience on the LTD variants makes it sleek inside and out.

Hello Ana. Your husband is correct about staying in stock. Doing modification will more or less alter the alignment of some parts thus making pressure to some parts to work more because of the misalighment of the modication. Talking about "tagtag". Its not really that tagtag, toyota made the fortuner according to its purpose so meaning may purpose yan lahat na package sa fortuner. If some people want the comfortable ride, they should sedan not fortuner.... i like your review its straight the point and raw video.
Actually we have 17 Hilux G 4x2 we just changed the mags ang tires so far na manage nmn nya mga steep inclines w/ the right dahil sa mga ka grupo nmn without ani issues may kasama nga kmi all stock lng hehe
Hi, thank you for a very informative blog. I'm planning to buy din kasi. This is a pearl white tama po ba? Ano po experienced ninyo sa color na ito, high maintenance po ba, gasgasin po ba? Lahat po kasi ng vehicles ko ay black, kaya curious po ako sa pearl white. I know na hindi gasgasin ang plain white pero pearl white po kasi ito, kaya I want to know. Thank you po.
6:54 super swerte nyo meron stock na 4x4 I remember gen 1 fortuner ng dad ko 2014 walang stock ng 4x4 tapos wala pa gusto namin color na pearl white need mag wait ng 6months after 8years tibay parin 270k mileage na never nasira btw pinapang trail pati fortuner ko 2017 200k na narin mileage super tibay
You can still make your 4x2 offroad capable. Change tires to 285/70 r17 All Terrain. believe me, that can be more than enough for basic overlanding. mkakarating kana mapanuepe jan. kung hndi ka nman sasabak sa putik at river crossing,, 4x2 with All terrain tires is about 80% capability of a 4x4
Had our updated 2022 LTD variant last October din po, we also opted for the 4x2 since we did not realize dati kung gaano kahelpful talaga sa certain situations si 4wd. It's a good thing though na nakuha namin yung updated variant. Super pogi talaga.
Yayyyy congratulations! Love the 2022 variant kasi ung 360 camera view nya, nababago na ata ung view sa screen na mismo, touch screen na ung function nya. Di tulad sa 2021 ltd variant, ppress mo tlg dun sa button sa left hand side ng driver parin. Congrats uli!
May inhouse baloon financing ang Toyota, with free pms throughout the contract where you have option to trade-in and upgrade to a different model after completing the terms. I was offered on this one, and not sure kung sulit if you go on this one for the financing option. The same din ba ang kinuha nyu maam?

Sa mga owners po ng LTD 4x2 po. Kamusta po fuel consumption nya compare sa 2.4? I had a 2.4 before V daily napaka tipid sa Gas. Kamusta naman po kaya sa 2.8?
Pano ung infotainment na connect sa phone?
Kami na galing sa 1990's na suv, tas ngayon na nagkaroon kami ng LTD the suspension really doesn't matter, pero i had to admit na super firm ng rear suspension ng fortuner which also indicates na mas mabigat ang kaya niyang load compare to other suvs. And just change your tire to all terrain tires unless balak nyong mag extreme offroad, kakailangan nyo talaga ng 4x4
maganda ang silver color neto... no regrets bumili kami ng 4x4 ltd, tagtag issue is not true... yung hilux cguro ang matagtag, pero fortuner hindi... pero malikot siya... maganda din yung ventilated seat...

Thank you very much guys for sharing your thoughts and opinions about the Fortuner. I’m eyeion purchasing one once I retire. But you guys are right.. The 3rd seats being hanged sideways reduces your storage space. And the matagtag thing is kind of a turn off. Is there a better SUV that’s more practical, reliable and more bang for your buck? My wife and I have been torn between LTD and GRS. Ambiance and ventilated seat, go for LTD. Tagtag issue resolved, go for GRS.
So we decided to go for GRS. Sanay naman kami na Hindi ventilated seat ang car. The importance is, comfortable and smooth the suspension. :)
Ganda ng fortuner na bago. Ang pangit lng is ung third row seat hindi naflaflaten. Un lang.
Ang di ko lang gusto sa fortuner no. 1 front overhang niya napakahaba yes ok naman siya tingnan from the front pero pag tiningnan mo sa gilid yung front overhang niya ang haba parang naka nguso, 2nd suspension tagtag talaga if u compare it sa iba halos night and day ang difference if only naglolong drive ka less fatigue ang ibang suvs. 3rd yung seats sa 3rd row since 2005 di nila binago yung configuration daming nasasayang na space, 4th yung vibe niya sa loob aminin masikip lalo na pagdating sa headroom dahil sa aircon vents na nakaprotrude sa ceiling. But with all the negatives… you buy a fortuner for its reliability at the end of the day and btw the grabe handle at the second row you can buy one aftermarket. Search for JC Garage
why not fortuner GR-S kasi improve suspension na yon halos pareho lang ang design sa fortuner LTD yun lang walang set ventilation Ang grs na Meron sa ltd.

Hi Ma'am and Sir, thanks for this video dahil mahilig rin akong manuod ng mga car videos and syempre pampadagdag knowledge about sa mga sasakyan. Tbh, my parents have the 2016 Fortuner and we also came from a compact car. We don't actually notice the "tagtag" since it's not noticeable sa amin. Pero if you're a car enthusiast, then maybe I think ma notice talaga. Recently, I've been watching Fortuner videos and the variants that hits me right in the heart is the LTD and the Q variant. Nagagandahan talaga ako sa Fortuner. If I may ask po, ano pong tint gamit ninyo and if super dark ba siya or medium or whatsoever? Kasi na notice ko po sa video niyo na ang linaw parin kahit may tint.

Although, sa panahon ngaun na andami nagbbundok, you’d never know really, if we could have a do over, we would go for the 4x4 in a heartbeat. Wala na isip isip hehe. Although syempre, cconsider din kung kaya budget. Kung kaya, 4x4 na talaga 😁👍🏻

Salamat po! Until now kapag nakakakita kami ng Wigo, napapangiti parin kami magasawa kasi masaya kami na ang unang kotse namin ay Wigo at sobrang dami naming memories sa kotse namin na yun. Also, sobrang sulit pero reliable at the same time. Walang masama kung di mag umpisa agad sa dream car, dadating din ang oras na makakamit natin yun 💚🙏🏻
Maam/sir, hindi po ba naging malaking factor sa inyo yung difference ng Q vs 4x2 LTD? Nasa 250k-300k din kasi difference nila sa presyo. Feature wise, malaki ba difference nila or more of the looks lang talaga yung difference nila? Also considering fortuner as our next car but just can't get over the fact na ang laki ng jump ng price from Q to 4x2 LTD. Thank you and God bless! :)

May i ask, in terms of Power of the 2.8L and it’s fuel consumption is it okay naman po?
As per my husband when it comes to power, enough sya kahit fully loaded kahit naka ECO basta sa patag. Kapag may incline na, dapat naka NORM ka na kasi mararamdaman mo yung bigat, although kaya parin naman kahit ung ECO lang pero medyo ramdam mo yung bigat.
Fuel consumption naman kapag naka ECO parang sedan and feeling nya mas matipid pa. Try namin silipin ung actual values sa kotse and we’ll edit this comment.
Usually once a month lang kami nagpapa full tank and mga byahe namin would be from QC to Antipolo or QC to Paranaque every weekend and mga random grocery runs during weekdays.

Tagtag? Dont know what y’all talking about. I driven a 2008. 528 bmw in the US which I thought was the best suspension ive have ever driven. Boy was I wrong. when i drove my 2021 Fortuner LTD 4x4. This has the smoothest suspension so far. Better than my bmer. And get this. Its Better than my hilux grs too. 2022 model. Never upgrading this suspension. Body? perhaps. Hilux GRS? Most definitely. Its meant for off road only. Its so stiff, it hurts my back.
Dipende talaga sa owner kung ano magiging reaction nila sa fortuner..para skin ok lang sya..

4wd LTD owner here. My only regret is not being able to wait for the 2022 model. Other than that, all is well. My terra has the better ride but as for.build quality and powertrain, the fortuner trumps it.

It is a real pity that you are limiting yourselves to a Filipino audience by using Tagalo. There are very few reviews of this vehicle and all those who do not speak Tagalo would have loved to understand your feedback. But thanks for the effort anyways.

Also a happy and proud LTD 4x2 owner here, and as a driver I find the stiffness of the ride bearable and on the good side because it gives you better control during cornering (not wallowy unlike its rival brand). Although bearable my wife and our baby sits at the back, and they find the ride a bit harsh "nakakahilo daw yung tagtag" specially during long rides so I changed the suspension to one of those that offers adjustable damping. Right now I can say that the ride is more refined and comfortable... at par (if not better) than the class leading PPV in terms of ride comfort... Cough... cough...Terra...
Aside from the ride comfort and how the 3rd row seats fold, the other minor quirk I have is also the missing grab handle on the second row. We also have seniors in the family so I find this feature very necessary so I had one ordered and installed (I was the first one in FEPH to have this installed) very tricky because we had to fabricate mounting points in order to install the said grab handles. Oh, one last thing... since the car already have a wireless phone charger, I hope Toyota had thrown in a head unit that has wireless Apple CarPlay as well... Makes more sense for being "wire-less"...

i drove a 2014 fortuner for two years Manila to Ilocos to Manila, no problem sa akin, hind ko nmn napapansin ang tagtag, sanay nko sa long drive.
