One of the worst mistakes I made with my wife was after she told me a longish recap of her day. When she was done, even though I was listening, I jokingly said "What was that honey, I wasn't listening..."

Because she took the time to set it up and thought it was going to be fun to involve more people. But he didn't need them lol (he just got confused by the two Sanderson books, I think he would have had it if it wasn't for that).

Merphy, appreciate this man hugely. He just spent 15 minutes or more (hard to tell exactly how long, since you fast forwarded a few times) exploring your mind with you, and seemed like he would've been happy staying there as long as you wanted. That's huge, and--i bet--fairly uncommon even among life partners. Hold him tight and cherish him, as he clearly does you.

I know, right?!? I can't for the life of me understand why that didn't dawn on me in the moment! I blame it on all the cameras, lights and pressure! Ha!
Technically, I feel that if he got the "Favorite Author" one on the wrong Brandon Sanderson book, he still should have got the point, even if it means that the "Favorite Book of Last Year" one would have been wrong. I mean, it's still correct, he would have just killed one bird with two stones.

I love both of those as well. I like the more pure white tones of Rebecca, but I love the overall design of Unkindness a little more I think. Both are neck and neck though.

He was actually right about who your favorite author is on the first try, but it was on the wrong book that he put the note (but still Brandon Sanderson) so I think he should get back 10 points for it.

If I did this with my boyfriend he'd fail. I talk to him about books I read but I read so many that I don't think he could keep them straight.
The way the scoring system is set up, if you use a lifeline, it will cost 20 points. If you get an answer wrong, it will cost you 20 points. The only way it makes sense to use a lifeline is if it _nets_ you more than one correct answer.
As described, the lifeline points are "bonus" points, so 100% = 240 points (all answers correct). Therefore, if you get only three wrong and use no lifelines, you get 100%.
With that schema, never use a lifeline.
And also, since Sanderson was actually correct, even though the sticker was put on a book of his that you didn't intend, the initial score would have been 260/240, or 108.33%.

I have that set of LOTR and really love the feel of them (obviously the books are great too). I am surprised to see Just Ella on your shelf, I read it when I was like 12 and hated it and have not seen basically anyone who owns it on booktube. You do have so many amazing/I can’t wait to get to books
