Awesome video! I was on Amazon ready to purchase a new staple gun and decided to see if there was a way to 'fix' my old one. I followed you every step of the way...pausing and rewinding several times...I am proud of myself! My old stapler is working again! Thank you dear sir!
Legend. I opened it up and it all fell apart. Ah hell! Couldn’t figure out what you were doing with the spring. Your fingers were in the way but I saw how you did it at around 4:30. Thanks. I think that spring had jarred loose because there was no pressure on the trigger part before I took it apart.
Thank you so much! It took me many attempts and longer than I wanted, but it became a matter of principle by that point. Setting the strong tension arm while keeping it aligned on the other end was the challenging part for me. Great video!
thank you so much . I fixed my stapler so I could finish putting up the insulation in my new shed that I got for my 50th wedding anniversary from my hubby and sons THANK YOU THANK YOU . I ALSO SAW VIDEO on youtube that shows how to get a jammed staple out of the power shot by only taking out that back screw and pulling out the bottom staple feeder to release the staple that jammed . That is what caused my problem to start
This video was a lifesaver. Mine jammed up. Figured I’d take it apart and try to fix it before buying a new one….nothing to lose. Got it apart but couldn’t even begin to get it back together. Searched for a video as a last effort and lo and behold, here we are. $25 saved!
Too bad for me you didn’t make this video eight years ago. Had to figure it out myself. I wanted a video to check if I did it correctly. Thanks for posting.
Great video. Mine was jammed solid, came apart in pieces and didn't know how to put it back together. Suggestion for future videos, use a pencil or other it7em when doing close-up video. Something with a point. Fingers are not good pointing devices in close up videos.
Thanks! I’m gonna take mine apart today. It’s never worked right since I bought it. The staples never go in all the way. Grrr! Real disappointing since mine was made in USA. I’m trying to reupholster my sons chair, so I need this to work properly.
I thought I had it all togerther perfect, but then I remembered why I took it apart in the first place a year or more ago, the hammer isn't pulling back
@@DrBDIY I don't know bud, the arm in the center is missing the piece sticking out of the hammer by a mile. Doesn't even touch it, swings right by in the inside lane like it owes it money and I ain't seeing what's going to change that. You Tube is telling me to shut off my ad blocker and I finally did, and it's still telling me to turn it off
If the slant in the center groove of the white plastic piece is worn out, it won't move the arm that runs between the leaf spring under the striker to lift it.
@DrBDIY I bought another one. I loved mine, too. Saw another Power Shot, grabbed it off the peg, hugged it to my chest, and said "Mine"!!! (good thing no one was around) Happy stapling!!!
@@DrBDIY 3:16 the big metal rod that fits over the plastic piece and has two prongs at one end and the opposite end has to be bent back for tension. It’s like bending strong metal. It feels impossible. So some tips for that would be the real secret key to this problem for me! Thank you!
Push down on the metal rod with your fingers and pry with your thumbs. It make take a few attempts. Otherwise, borrow some bigger hands from a friend? I hope it works for you.
You can also use a small adjustable wrench on the rear outer edge of the leaf spring lengthwise for extra leverage while pushing down slightly on it so that it doesn't come out. Then push the edge firmly into place once it is lined up.

That is fantastic progress. Good for you! Happy to help.
Thanks for the video. Mime was jammed and I took it apart. Would have never got it back together without this video.
Great to hear!

@@DrBDIY Someone else had taken it apart due to a jam but I was able to get it together using your helpful video. Thanks again!

Very helpful, thank you
You are welcome.

Try again. All parts have to be laid in there precisely.

Gotta have man hands. Threw mine out. Great video though.
Oh, not really that hard to fix. Such a great stapler. Sorry it had to be tossed.

Great.
Thank you and amazing.
Glad you enjoyed it!
The main spring wasn’t that easy to set! I could not do it! Not strong enough. Is there a trick to setting the spring? You make it look too easy!
Which spring? What minutes:seconds in the video are you referring?
