After experiencing a Bee drone surveying our guest home on our property without our consent Or contract right after speaking
      With a realtor who mentioned
A retired sheriff who charges them $5,000 to take video footage for listings! ?wr ha e our own drone & are very tech savy for our ‘age’ 😏😉 so we would take our OWN pictures & email them before letting a drone come take picture EXPECIALLY with the flight pattern programmed where they fly RIGHT UP TO OUR SLIDING GLASS DOOR and take pics of personal private documents Laying
Inside on our desk face up!!! THIS is what happened whoever was operating that insect drone (approximately $8k) knew we KNEW fe the shocked, intelligent & angry look on our face as it did it’s sharp 90 degree turn to look at us as it wasn’t aware we were outside right there on our patio!!! we found
Out that he (Thecontractpr worh realtor a retired deputy or sheriff ) parked
His truck away so people wouldn’t get his tag (he was 45 minutes away so he was obviously getting footage of another property and wanted to save himself
A trip!) our family is military & the special forces enlightened us of DARPA, how long it’s been since they even even started studying
The millimeters per second the wings flap etc but it was ILLEGAL!
The problem with this ONE Gnat is IM the other FOOD source! I even made expensive essential oil For skin repellent that works with other bugs, mosquitoes etc. But this ONE damn now FAT GNAT LEFT a KNOT on my knee yesterday and bit my other foot, face, arm them went up under my dress & bit me right beneath my breats where it couldn’t get up under my bra!!! Crazy! Have seen the Gnat too & it IS a gnat but to leave a knot the size
Of a quarter & itch like hell we think that it may be genetically MODIFIED & YES rural areas AND agricultural areas have been getting
Sprayed with chemicals! Both our peach tree, food garden and blackberries on our large property has been killed !! It’s been a gradual occurrence then stopped Yielding Fruit entirely after shiriveling up In size dramatically over the past 3 years !
So what do Or DID you use as we realize the time of this posting and upload ...gonna try Apple cider vinegar Today but I’m a bowl work set an wrap over it and holes poked with a fork to trap it!! 🕷🌾🙏🏻

Your timing is perfect. I let a pineapple ripen in the kitchen for a week and bam! GNATS! A zillion of them. The soap is what I needed. I’ve used pyrethrum , vinegar and fruit scraps with good success . Those nasty looking fly strips are effective (but ghastly). A little soap to break the surface tension is IT.
A co2 bb pistol, charged with gas, but not bb’s, works great for stragglers . It’s pretty satisfying.

I use the apple cider vinegar and a drop of dish soap in a fruit/ dessert bowl, cover with plastic wrap tightly. Sometimes I put an elastic band around it to hold it in place (the plastic wrap) or tape it, then I use a toothpick to poke tiny holes in it. Not so small the gnats can't get in but not so big they can get out. Put it in the infested area and watch it work! I left one for a few weeks because I forgot about it and they kept on going to it. Hope this is helpful 🙂

This is good way to combat the gnats when you have them.
We have been plagued by them every year when we jump start our garden indoors under lights. This year, I was able to obtain neem seed meal (neem cake) to use as a soil amendment. The results were no gnats buzzing around.
We got a few plants locally and they had gnats until we watered them with a tea derived from the neem cake.
If you know the source, this is very effective. If you can't control the source, then these traps are a good second line defense.

It's good to see I'm not alone the Gnats are driving me crazy too. I had them a few years back from house plants and they never left. I got rid of the plants but the gnats stayed. I planted my vegie garden and they are all through it. I put the yellow sticky pads they catch heaps. I also put fruit scraps in compost bin so I think I made a huge problem for myself. I'll have to throw out compost but what to do with my vegies? Should I throw them out also, as something is eating the leaves on everything. It hasn't stopped raining here in Sydney Australia so it's made it worst. I'll try your method 2mrw as I save all my lids etc for pest control stuff. Thanks 😊.

So sorry to hear about your car. My husband and I thank you from the bottom of our hearts for posting this video. We've experienced gnats before when we let a banana sit too long, but it is usually just a handful of them. One day we woke up and we were being invaded by an army of gnats. We had no idea where they were coming from because we had no ripening fruit, plants, etc. that could be attracting them. Found your video and within three days, the three plastic lids full of your "cocktail" were full of those pesky things. We just can't thank you enough. After a thorough search of the house, I discovered that I had harvested some okra from the garden and had forgotten about it being in a walmart plastic bag. I had planned on drying them out to harvest the seeds.

In my case, I think it was the potatoes I leave out which attracted them. Anyway, I use the bowl method with great success. Same ingredients as yours. Im cheap, so I use an old reusable coffee filter to strain out the gnats when the bowl gets filled. The solution doesnt lose potency. Ive been using the same solution for 1 month. Ill leave the bowl out until I stop catching them, then store it under the sink in a jar with a lid. I bring it out whenever I see a gnat or house fly (works for them too).

I'd randomly get them out of no where in my apartment. I found that the water trap in the sink drains is where they'd be coming from. So I'd set out the vinegar thing. Also, I'd pour bleach down each drain let it sit for a few minutes the follow it up with pouring boiling water from my tea kettle, That really helps kill anything. Do the same.for the shower and tub drains.

Ditto. They like the kitchen and bathroom which are two moist environments. I get gnats usually once a year in the warm months. I put out a small dish in the kitchen and one in the bathroom with the mixture of vinegar, sugar, dish soap and water. I also spray my drains with bleach. I'm slowly getting rid of them. I only see one or two flying around now. I've lived in many different apartments and this last one I'm now living in seems to be a place they love to infiltrate. Frustrating for sure!

      @mycomama4209 2 ปีที่แล้ว

imidpacloprid is 100% water soluble and is the ABSOLUTE worst non organic pesticide you can use. especially for simple soil fungus gnats. It being water soluble means that it enters the water table, ditches, run offs and rivers. It is toxic to all animals, including humans. As well as all birds, reptiles, an aquatic life. Any pyrethrin based product would suffice to kill the fliers of the fungus gnats or fruit flies but not their larvae. Pyrethrins also CANNOT be used around kitties. As they don't have the proper enzymes that humans and dogs have 2 break them down. That being said I wouldn't use imidacloprid on any invasive insect ever. No mater the case. Also to the person who pulled up their veggies because of simple gnats. Well you didn't have to. The adult fliers only eat dead and decaying organic matter. The larvae and pupae feed off of the plants roots. So you need to feed the roots beneficial bacteria and mycos. That will stop the gnats from destroying your plants because of eating their root base.

A couple of years ago I saw a similar video suggesting some of these ingredients.
Because of my busy schedule I didn't have time to go to the store. I had some white vinegar so I used lids as well, saucers and bowls.
I placed them by the lamps and windows. I was told they are attracted to light. I noticed it seemed like the color white attracts them also.
The next day when I checked the "traps", ALL of them looked just like the lids in this video! There were so many I was surprised because I thought there was just a hand full of them.
But, for me, the plain regular vinegar worked all by itself! I just poured a little to cover the bottom of the bowls, and saucers, covered the lids with it and that's it. The vinegar did evaporate so i just check on it once a day.
It's warming up again and I've noticed they're coming back which is why I'm checking out the latest suggestions.
This video was very well presented. Thanks for sharing! 🕊🛐

Best way to get rid of gnats in house plants:
    1. Repot with new soil (even in existing pot). Throw the soil in a garbage bag and seal tightly, to dispose of eggs, larva and junior gnats in the soil.
    2. Spray roots with Garden Safe Insecticidal Soap. Make sure to spray in the remaining soil on the roots.
    3. Refill pot with new soil, making about 1.5 inches for room on the top of soil for sand.
    4. Add a thick layer of 1.5” - 2” of sand. Pat down to keep it tightly packed.
    5. Water the plant. If sand moves to expose soil, add more sand at the top.
I tried everything and couldn’t get rid of gnats in my plants, until I tried this method with sand. This worked, no more gnats going on 2 months. Gnats can’t dig into tightly packed sand, nor can larvae or gnats crawl up through the sand if packed tightly.

Company expert check in on this……PLEASE ! ?

Yep, this method of yours really works. I'd been smushing them with a Kleenex whenever I could catch one not moving for a second. You know how that worked, not great. Set up these traps in the problem rooms of the house, went away for the day and when we came home--GROSS!! So many in the traps, couldn't begin to count them all. Now. My question is, since there are still some, but not nearly as many, flying around, do I need to find the source of where they are breeding and wipe them out there, or just keep leaving these traps round the house until we have a few days of none at all. I have only a couple house plants and they are succulents that I keep very dry. Do they breed in our sink and tubs drains? What about a damp basement? Though I haven't seen any in the basement? Can you tell I'm a little obsessed at this point. But, hey, thanks for your humor, it helps in situations like this.

That is so cool Rose. can I ask, what color was the container? I wonder if white is a better color for attracting them.

    • @roseellis3026
      @roseellis3026 3 ปีที่แล้ว

The container I had added the other stuff in was black the bottom of a food prep container that was about 8” round I later after adding the sugar and stirred well separated the liquid into plastic mason jar lids and placed in different areas, as I realized I didn’t need that much in each container. Thanks again it is working like a champ!

It must have been a bad summer for gnats, I had them this summer and I've never seen them before. I sprayed them and everything in the kitchen with Dawn dish soap, one part dish soap to ten parts water. It cut them down a lot, but I still had a few all summer long. They seemed to be very attracted to my nose! I love the fan trap, I never would have thought of that.

Gnats bother me when I play golf and want to fly into my eyes all the time as i walk down the fairways, at least I think they are Gnats. How do you stop them from flying around my face????? I also wear a visor cap and every time I look up they want to fly into my eyes and around my face.

If you are outdoors it's hard to keep them away from your face. The only thing I can think of that might help would be a fisherman's mask that is used to keep the sun off the face and insects out of your nose and mouth.amzn.to/3yzAokZ

    • @RobbsHomemadeLife
      @RobbsHomemadeLife  ปีที่แล้ว

The water has soap in it. If it doesn't have any soap the gnats can land on the water and take off. The soap breaks the surface tension and when they touched the water they get wet and drown.

I’ve spent hours online looking for a way to identify these shiny black winged flies around my apartment. I thought they were fruit flies. I’ve seen many comments where people try this Apple cider vinegar and say that it doesn’t work. I don’t see any bugs crawling around the soil of my house plants. All I know is that I’m freaked out that they lay a ton of bags, which is prompting me to find a solution ASAP. Seems like a lot of work to get them out of the plant soil. I think I have many things going on here. I was wondering why I keep seeing these little spiderwebs. Also, small red dots on the back of the leaves on some of my plants. What the hell is going on here? Why am I being attacked lol tired of putting so much time online. I’m glad that you did the research and well. Definitely try what you have said. I’ve got to go buy myself some apple cider vinegar. 😊

Hello Melissa you can use fruit juice or even ketchup or beer if you don't have any apple cider vinegar you can even use regular vinegar but the apple cider vinegar seems to work better. Harris what the Internet says about red dots on the backs of leaves it sounds like you have spider mites
Small red dots on the back of leaves of house plants are often caused by pests or diseases. Here are some common causes:
Spider Mites: These tiny pests can cause red, yellow, or brown spots on the leaves. They are usually found on the underside of the leaves and can produce fine webs.
Rust Fungus: This fungal disease can cause small red or orange spots on the undersides of leaves. Over time, the spots can grow and merge, causing larger areas of discoloration.
Scale Insects: These pests can appear as small, red or brown raised spots on the leaves. They feed on the plant's sap, weakening it over time.
Nutrient Deficiency: In some cases, red spots can be a sign of nutrient deficiencies, particularly phosphorus deficiency. However, this is less common compared to pest or disease issues.
      To address these issues:
Spider Mites: Increase humidity around the plant, regularly mist the leaves, and consider using a miticide or insecticidal soap.
Rust Fungus: Remove and dispose of affected leaves, improve air circulation around the plant, and apply a fungicide if necessary.
Scale Insects: Remove scale insects manually with a cotton swab dipped in alcohol, and consider using insecticidal soap or neem oil.
Nutrient Deficiency: Fertilize the plant with a balanced fertilizer according to the manufacturer's instructions.
