This game will stay in my memory FOREVER.It has been 18 years since I first played it and I remember everything.Maybe the best ever for me along with Metal Gear Solid 1.I was really lucky to live this era.
same here, man... 96-99 that era was something esle... the golden era, unadulterated entertainment, a truly unprecedented time...it was all new territory for adult entertainment in video games and there was ridiculous creativity coming from everywhere, it was like the wild west... Like you mentioned MGS, Resident Evil trilogy, Tomb Raider trilogy, all ps1 staples
They should of used this in the Duelshock director's cut instead of that crap horn music they used that sounded awful it was a mess & ruins the duelshock director's cut atmospire.the first half the soundtrack with duelshock was good then got bad.
My favorite sounds: 9:36 Wandering about 13:07 The moonlight sonata 26:31 Vacant flat 31:29 Flooded Corridor 36:03 Deception 38:19 Queer Structure 51:37 The Depth ( is so scary this one.) 56:31 Double Crosser
This is amazing! I listen to this specific video quite often. How can this not have more likes and views, especially since it was posted nearly a decade ago!?!? Thank you for posting this, PopRocknSoul!
The remix versions are good, but not better than the original ones imo. I was lucky to pick up a copy of this in a small comic shack back in the days. Still have it :-)
I love this remix: it's FAR too expensive to buy on my budget, so it's fantastic that this user was kind enough to upload the whole album. Good job mate!
Koichi Hiroki composed the vast majority of the material, with Makoto Tomozawa composing four of the tracks, and Masami Ueda composing the last three. 'The Moonlight Sonata' was originally composed by Ludwig van Beethoven, but was arranged by Tomozawa in this album version.
Wow I never knew this existed! Funny that they used the Save Theme Remix (and I guess also the "Vacant Flat") from this for Deadly Silence (and to hear it in great quality for the first time).
I was a kid in the 90s resident evil came out in 1996 that would make me 22 years old know. I have been a fan of resident evil since I was a kid I would watch mum and dad play it a lot. the come 2001 I started playing the games then in 2002 the resident evil movie came out so mum and dad let me stay up one night so I could watch with them man I love resident evil. I even have the resident evil soundtrack from the second movie. And I also have a resident evil Jill Valentine stars police hat to. I have every resident evil movie and I have every resident evil game to.
The movies are alright in their own way, guilty pleasures really. The games are pretty cool, I haven't played the 6th one. I kind of lost interest in the series after it went down hill (5th installment). The fourth resident evil game was a big gameplay change and it kind of has a nostalgic place in my heart even tho there aren't any zombies in it T.T
Resident Evil 1 (in my case "Biohazard 1") scared the living shit outta me me as a kid (i was about 12 years old at the time). I played the game at my uncles house back in the days. And the day before i played Resident Evil 1, i watched my very first zombie horror movie "Dawn of the dead". So yeah, i was afraid of the dark for the whole summer that year xD It was totally worth it though ;) And i will never EVER forget Resident Evil 1.
+The Gaming Ground RE1 was the first PS1 game I played. I was 6, it was my birthday. I had no clue what to do. I kept dying at the first zombie :D. Eventually I played RE3, fell in love with that, Nemesis creeped the shit out of me, beat it a bunch of times, then found RE2, beat that then after a couple of years I had the balls to go back and beat RE1.
To be fair, either did I. As I played the Japanese version of RE1 (Biohazard 1) :S So I had to relay on my uncle, which of course took advantage of the situation (he had plenty of laughs on my expense). I did manage to complete the game though (with Jill and Chris). At the time, I didn´t understand the plot, dialog and such all that well. So I had to replay the English version of RE1 later on (I had to do the very same thing with RE 2 as well). RE3 is one of the scariest RE titles imo. As the Nemesis is hunting you throughout the game (I hate that bloody little window in the hallway in the policestation).
9:36 'Wandering About' one of my favourites from the Soundtrack. 23:14 'Ivie's Domain' Guardhouse theme. (sounds darker, I prefer the original) 26:32 'Guardhouse' (scarier than the original version and better to me)
at 44:01 "narrow and close" basement them (most scarier than ever that was improve by seal of approval spooky style however I kinda like the original version btw)
oh and 31:29 (that version of it is 100 or the number of that % creepier than the original originality version and better and really good and improved updated to me of course.)
You are still young. I was about 11 when the game came out I did not play it until 1997 the following year. scared me shitless I had to walk to a friends house in the dark to give it back to him after borrowing it.
ok This is the Resident Evil Original Soundtrack Remix that 1996 so uhh... We didn't even talk about 1998 Resident evil symphony no.91 crime and punishment.
la parte favorita de la musica en mi caso es cuando chris vuelve a la mansion principal es donde la musica que esta en el inicio cambia esa es mi mejor parte gracias :D
Really this is expensive to find now. Jesus, i used to have the disc and case but sold it like 10 years ago. among a whole bunch of other rare game OST. Doh!
To me certain songs sound better on this remixed soundtrack and other songs sound better on the original in game soundtrack, it's a trade off, both versions sound better in different areas.
well i prefer Makoto Tomozawa; Akari Kaida, and Masami Ueda's original version of the soundtrack instead of Mamoru Samuragouchi's dualshock version of that director's cut dualshock greatest hits label or inside the mansion boxart from japan.
> Listening to this at work. > Angry bossman comes storming like "what are you wasting time listening" and pulls off ear piece to check it out. > Moonlight Sonata playing. > Bossman calms down "I would have never guessed, I see you are a man of culture" > Bossman makes an example out of me with other employees > "successKid.jpg" TFW I was listening to horror music action soundtrack for the most part all day

I could not believe to my eyes when I first saw MGS1 and RE1 on my friend's psx... best games ever

I just realized they used this soundtrack for the DS version of the game. Very cool!

I love the mansion theme. I still play the ps version from time to time, but like twice a year though. I kinda know where everything is.
Memories... My dad bought it when I wad a kid, I will never forget the first zombie encounter...
So glad I found this mix again after so long. Speed run RE2 (remake) with this is fun. 💪🏼

Whoever's playing that first song, man they're really into it
I love the art style that the PS1 Resident Evil 1 has. Does anyone know the artist's name? Been trying to find it for a while
Rick Astley.
No, do not search for Rick Astley - whatever you do.
It's gotta be some kind of manga/anime artist.
Dazz 252
Ha ha ha
No the real guys name is Felix Kjelberg

Da brivido.
Awesome remix, but IMO they should have removed the voice acting from it. It'd make a great concentration/study soundtrack.
Wow wonderful nuy why is bio
Suena bien este OST ¿Esta remasterizado?
Which version of Resident Evil has this soundtrack?
Is a remix dude
Bruce Moraes Really? I'd swear I heard this in the game a long time ago, lol
Well, it is a remix, but they added this remixed OST to the Deadly Silence (Nintendo DS) version.
yes they did indeed ;)
I prefer the orginal and true soundtrack in PS1....Why create a remix....,??
Why all this soundtracks sounds different from game version?
Da gelare i pixel.
Is this the ds version because some of the music sounds similar
It´s an official remix disc they released in 1997.
Some of these tracks did end up on the DS version actaully
Is it just me or are these tracks more like the ones used in the DS version of RE1?
