- The Brown County Sheriff's Office responded to Fleet Farm on North Taylor Street in Howard, Wisconsin on March 12, 2021 for a report of a retail theft in progress. Deputies located the suspects and a vehicle pursuit ensued. The pursuit ended near Velp Avenue and Lineville Road in Suamico when the fleeing vehicle drove onto railroad tracks. A friend of mine asked me why I watch these shows. I thought about it. Watching an officer in pursuit, man, that's crazy. He/She has to watch everything around them to make sure they aren't endangering anyone in this process. Next, their adrenaline is off the charts. Having to report what they are doing and what's going on during the pursuit. My heart is pounding. All the other stuff they have to watch for and understand jurisdictionally, etc., well, that's a rush, for me. Stuff I would never be able to see or fell in the guise of the pursuer. Great!! This is the first chase I've watched where 95% of drivers got out of the way of the police vehicles!

@@CaptainCalculus FedEx drivers are shit. They're just as bad as Swift. I can't count the number of times I've almost been ran down in a crosswalk because some degenerate FedEx driver doesn't stop. I saw one drive straight into a dumpster a couple weeks ago. I could see if he backed into it, but the dude just drove head on into it.

Just as they are about to cuff him, a train appears out of nowhere and runs him down. END OF REPORT.
Well that was 12 minutes of my life wasted.
First mistake was heading east when he got off 41 north. That put him headed directly for the bay, which limits your options a bit.
I think the roundabouts screwed his plan.

I have a 1998 ford explorer with 158 klm's and believe me, even as a 4x4, it moves, and is in mint condition. It rides high so the railroad tracks didn't do it in, rather the cop parked on the tracks at the end did and the massive amount of cops that were there at the end.

Why do cops always use the same lane as the fleeing suspect when pursuing on multi-lane roads (freeways, highways, etc...)? Positioning their vehicle behind the suspect's makes it impossible for traffic ahead to see (and hear) the approaching patrol car. Also, if the suspect throws something from their vehicle it has a much better chance of impacting the pursuing cop if he is directly behind the suspect rather than one lane to either side.

The goal isn't always to overtake the violator except during pit maneuvers. The cop could have kept up no problem if he wanted to put the public more at risk.

What's the point of just following? Why not try to end chase with stop sticks, box in or PIT maneuvers. The longer the chase goes the more you put the driving public in dangerous situations.

@My Pronoun is WTF I understand some of your thinking, but the longer the chase the possibility increases for innocent people to be hurt or even killed. The pit maneuver is just one of the things that police use to stop a person sooner. If the cruiser had all that much more power as you say, I would have thought he would have been closer to the perp.

Is that squad car running like shit, or do you really have to mash it all the way to the floor to get them to actually accelerate? Pretty sad a lame ass SUV stayed ahead of him pretty easily and actually pulled away pretty hard a couple of times. The gearing seems pretty wide for a pursuit car too.

It’s called officer safety. Cruising around distracted by tunes could get you or your partner killed. Every state is different though. Our S.O. has never had am/fm radios in any of our units.
