Im the same way! I like old school thrash, which probably explains why I like this performance so much. The "like light to the flies" from this show is amazing!! My favorite version of it. Very loud, clear and slightly harsh vocals from Matt here. And it's nice to see Corey doing most the singing on a song.

@slayer9023 yeah it was around this time that Matt blew his voice and just started "heavy singing" the screaming parts. When his voice had recovered he liked the sound of them better sung rather the screamed. Thankfully he's seen sense since then!
The only thing that I wish that he would still have is that same enthusiasm, he's still good, the entire band is. But In Waves didn't have nearly as much effort put into it compared to any of their old albums.

Seems like he stopped screaming altogether round The Crusade but I guess every band needs to experiment. I guess my point was if a song is written that way on record then it should be performed the exact same way if possible

the crusade years were awful corey was so scared to scream, fucking butchered half of their songs trying to 'metallica' the old stuff when i saw them live. this is my favorite band, and thank god hes back to screaming again, may trivium for ever kick ass \m/
