Dude the Storm always seemed like the most well written song of early Trivium. not sure where I found it but I remember it being one of the first Trivium songs I listened to. Groovy drums and sick ass riffs. It’s cool to know heafy also holds that song in high esteem
I’m blessed to own 2 copies of the “Blue Demo” CD. Glad I invested on those copies during the Road Rage ‘04 tour. Goes to show to take a chance on an upcoming band!
Even at 14, you sounded fucking amazing. You had the perfect thrash metal voice, refined technique or not. Obviously, you were a fantastic guitarist early on. I love The Storm almost as much as the late-2000s tracks. Brilliant stuff that would be great to hear live or in a new way. Awesome content, Matt!
This is very cool. Watching behind the scenes on the early days of the band raising and growing. Always super sweet seeing/hearing these back stories. Good stuff. By the way, the V drum kit doesn't sound too bad. CDR's 🤣😂🤣 classic. I remember going through those like it was going out of style. Still do too 😎😎
Matt, I've always been a huge fan and got into Trivium when Ascendancy was released. It was the album that got me properly into metal and playing guitar. Then I discovered Ember to Inferno and loved that too. Shortly after you released The Crusade and after Shogun I started to drift away from it all. Recently dusted off my guitar and started getting back into it slowly learning all the tracks off Ascendancy. I would absolutely love it if you rerecorded Ember with a tighter more modern sound. The simple harmonies used throughout that album on both guitar and vocals are amazing. In terms of guitar tone and overall production I think Ascendancy and Shogun sound the best to my ears. Shogun is more polished overall, but there is something about Ascendancy that just sounds perfect. Would love to know what amps you used in the studio, I heard it was a Peavey XXX? I've tried getting into your newer albums in the last few years but with the exception of the odd song they seem to lack that special something that Ascendancy and Ember have to my ears. Anyway this is another long winded vote for a re-release of Ember to Inferno.
Yeaaa you know where I was when I was 14?... buried deep in a severe depression and anxiety pit that I couldn't crawl out of 😂, but goddamn that raw pure energy.
Ember to Inferno is really such an underrated and underappreciated album. Everyone is losing their mind over Ascendancy and Shogun but for me Ember to Inferno is as good.
I'm so glad that you have had the ability to record albums since you were 13 or 14. Meanwhile I'm almost 40 and I'm fighting tooth and nail just to make my first album in my entire life, while I've been playing since I was 6 years old. Your very lucky you have had the opportunity to do so. My project will be a nuclear bomb on the stale, and stagnant metal scene that keeps cranking out the same old shit, We are going to be the next Slipknot/Metallica. Look out
@@AA1613 It was on Corey’s Stream , there’s a video on TH-cam that has the stream. The Shogun version of SITS did indeed have screaming and there was also earlier demos of songs like Into The Mouth Of Hell we March and Shogun and other unreleased stuff. Shit was DOPE

I don’t care what anyone says, I would LOVE a re-record of Ember to Inferno. Pillar of Serpents was an amazing re-record.
You should care, almost everyone wants it, just read Pillars of serpents comments lol
honestly ember doesn't need to be re recorded, it has a fucking amazing unique sound that ive never heard in any other album. its amazing.
I wish for this every day
@iluvtacoz123 actually kinda do because those demos are awesome but can't understand Matt lol
It has been rerecorded. It's amazing, but i still prefer the original version. 😅
Can we get a re-recording of these songs? That would be awesome
If they did this, I'd probably pee myself. Real talk.
It's not too much longer until Ember's 20th anniversary, just a little under 3 years until then... A re-recording for that would be pretty badass.
Like on that unreleased song blitzkreig like what a kick ass riff
I really just want to hear “Thrust” re recorded so I can figure out the lyrics
Good profile picture
The Storm would be legit re-recorded. A bunch of old trivium songs recorded would be dope as hell
yep! I second that!
100% fuck yes
The Storm is a masterpiece.
Red demo, blue demo, and yellow demo..... when did we Pokémon
I'm pretty sure that's what Matt says it was based on lol
Forget a re recording
Appreciate this for what it is
Trivium’s story is incredible

Sworn is like one of my all time favourite song by you guys. That solo is giving me chills
Same here dude!
CONSTANT CHILL DEEP INSIDE
9:39 I always thought that this version was the official one, because it's stupidly better.
THE STORM is my favorite song, should be re-recorded 100%!!!!!!!!!!
THE CHORUS is amazing!
3:07 I love this song!

Damn that studio guy sounds like kind of a jerk haha.
Yea, a straight up douche bag
Yeah, and that recording is not worth a few thousand dollars. It sounds like an unmixed 4 track demo...
Sounds like a dumb ass is what he sounds like
The Blue Demo came out in 2002. Matt was 16 in the recordings.
Was recorded in winter 2002. Released in February 2003

Oh my gosh!!! I've been wanting a Storm re-recording for like 10 years now! PLEEEEEASSEEE do it!

I agree man, the newer albums just don't have that special something that Ascendancy had.
To me, it's just nostalgia. The newer albums are better but listening to the older albums feels like listening to my personal growth.
I think they should leave ember alone. The musicians themselves sounded better at that point in my opinion, even though they were very young
Haha wow same here for literally everything you just said
“Oh, hi mark” 👋
Love Jason Suecof. Sorry if I spelled his name wrong.

It amazes me how good you were so young. Makes me wish I started earlier!
Vienna Sausages! You're a great dude for doing this Matt.
Hope we get a new "The Storm" version on album 11th
Metal’s Markiplier. Big fan. Much love lol
i've heard most of these demos and they are all great. I wish a lot of them were on the album
A re-recording of Fugue (A Revelation), please.
The Storm redone would be INSANE
yes, storm is an awesome track!
10:03 lol
All "Ember to inferno" that would be great!!!
Hey Matt ever thought about re-recording that whole album now
Sworn is an incredible track, should re-record that one haha
I played this on my phone and it scared my bunny thanks lol
Great since the beginning. Btw, love ur teen voice. I wish i had this. Im 22 and i sound ridiculous.
I need to get me a mic and recording equipment so I can do this also
Please re-record the storm. Its among my favorite songs of yours!

The Storm somehow got to me and been a fan since
The mother fucking stooooorm what a banger

I like so much your young voice
Demo album plz. I need Shogun version of SITS.
it's most likely just shogun era matt singing the entire song, i highly doubt there's screaming

You guys should re-record Storm 👀
Y’all should make a powermetal album, I’ll sing on it if you think you can’t do it Matt 😚

So there was the OG Ember and then there was Ember Ab Initio. What is the difference?
None, ember was never on sale till the ab initio released
