If I ever ran a 2:28 marathon, I'd be in pieces at the end. But not you, you went out of your way to go back on course and help your friends complete the marathon. You're a legend Ben! Congratulations!

I wanted to say one more thing, you truly inspire to run. I found you on my weight loss journey and it was a struggle to kept motivate myself. But I’ve started and keep running. Even though I’m far from a marathon, I set myself the goal of doing one till the end of the year 💪🏻

Hi Ben. Thanks for cheering us on after your finish. I saw you at the bridge crossing the railways (16:15 location) and wanted to go say "hi" but I was too shy in the moment... I was dealing with cramps from 28-42km and felt miserable at the time. My time was 4h38min. I was looking forward to run my 1st marathon but this was not my day unfortunately.. 😥
I hope to meet you another day. Congrats on reaching your goal and I hope you and Meg enjoyed the visit to CPH.

It is such a pleasure to watch you run. So smooth and relaxed. I am smiling and crying at your achievement. I am so proud of you and so inspired!!! It's stunning how fast you are. I could only hope to be half as fast as you are, yet still I find it inspiring not discouraging. I love how many supportive friends and family you have, and you supporting your friends at the end. Fantastic. I only recently completed my first and the last 10k were bloody hard for me too, so encouraging to know it's felt by the best of us.
Yeah the last 10km was probably the hardest kilometres I’ve ran but man did it feel great crossing that line knowing I’d given everything
I swore blind I would never run a marathon again. A couple of weeks later and I have a list of marathons I want to run. Why do I do it to myself?!

Amazing job Ben, both with the incredible 2.28 and the way that you captured the day itself too! I was the guy who bumped into you at Kongens Nytorp metro and tagged along with your group to the expo. So glad you had a great experience and it was everything you wanted it to be for your first one. I said that this year would be the last time I do Copenhagen for a while as I've done it 4 times now but I've already decided to go back next year as i just love it so much and it has a hold on me I can't get away from!

What an achievement!! This young lad is an amazing inspiration for all of us!! Being able to run a 2:28 marathon just after two years of running is mind boggling. He's just 23 and full of potential, I think if he moves to Kenya for a year and train at high altitude, in Iten, he can still improve massively. I hope to see him breaking the 2:20, 2:15 and 2:10 barriers in the coming years.

Finished quite a lot slower though, at 3:45, but still quite happy with it 😁
