  • New to MR PORTER. Artistic director Mr Alessandro Sartori talks us through the craftsmanship of the Parisian shoemaker Berluti.
    Mr Sartori, it’s safe to say, is a perfectionist, and his painstaking attention to detail is applied in equal measure to the preparation of his morning coffee and to the clothes he designs for the revered Paris-based label. There’s a connection between Mr Sartori’s approach in the kitchen, and the fact that in the three years since he was appointed to the role of artistic director the brand has forged an unrivalled reputation for combining the highest levels of craftsmanship with the finest materials and a strikingly contemporary attitude. In the words of Mr Sartori, the clothes are made “for a man who’s in love with style but wants to be modern”.

      renzoc what you see in the first half of the video cost 6000e, so 7000$ minimum. This is bespoke being made.

  • @KenChiwo

    Gent's the shoes you see them making in this video are the bespoke option; pricing around $6000+usd.

      Kenny N This shoes are beautiful, but $6000 beautiful? ....meh.

    • @KenChiwo
      @KenChiwo 7 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Beauty to one's own - is subjective. If there is a preference of beauty that you wish to wear on your feet, then the bespoke option will guarantee that wish. Keep in mind that shoemakers like "Berluti" pride themselves of completely 'handmade' (especially bespoke), thus price will be high.

      If you're rich enough to spend 2k on a shoe, your car will be far more expensive than your shoe.. think something like a Maserati to go with your Italian shoe!

    So much marketing BS!!!!! I have never owned a more uncomfortable pair of shoes in my life!! it's the closest thing to walking around with 2 bear traps around your feet.
    My pair of Berluti is in my closet and will stay there, until i get the courage to throw these 2000 USD pairs of shit in the garbage! what a waste of money. it's so sad, i should have given the money away to charity!

      Most animals are not butchered for the leather, they are butchered for meat and then the leather is used for shoes because what else would you do with it, throw it away?

    • @amitghai6
      @amitghai6 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      +darrel anto ok and what gives us the right to kill those homeless animals for leather for shoes jackets bags , I recently saw a video for louis vuitton leather , they skin poor baby crocodiles alive saying that skinning them alive keeps the leather soft and our customers love the soft yet tough leather finish , during the stone age or the recent time in 1600s to 1900s we didn't had the technologies to make strong materials likes leather , but now we do stuff like nylon or rexin are good examples,many brands make such amazing fox leather jackets and shoes , then why we are stuck in the same old age and use leather products ??
      And mr motherfucker u eat so much beef and mutton and chicken thats y we get so much by product leather . U have to satisfy your taste buds by sacrificing some poor animal . Bitch go green , and as far as homes are concerned animals like buffalo , lambs goat are not the typical kind of animals that require a jungle to live and yet they get slaughtered daily
