      @@AllYouWantAndMore You can build a desktop gaming PC. I edit on mine. I use to edit for Inked Magazine. Set a budget for what you build. I would get your hands on a 3070 Nvidia card. You can also get 2080 since the prices for the GPUs are going down.

    Thanks for this. One thing I noticed is that the LUTs look quite different when you use this workflow....especially if you try the built in LUTs that Premiere offers. They look totally off.

    Hi.. Is there a possibility that the clips runs in normal speed?. At minute 6:00 you told "Now all your footage is slow motion". I'm having the same issue how can I make my footage runs normal speed. Is there a setting to do that? Thanks!.

    • @MHM4V3R1CK
      @MHM4V3R1CK 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's only if your footage was shot at high frame rate. If your footage was shot at 23.976, there's no need to interpret it as anything else

    Does premiere nowadays allow real 16 bpc or is it limited to 8 bpc as soon as using most of the effects (crop, scale, etc.?)
    In Resolve at least you know you are working with 16 bpc input and 32bpc floating point color all the time.

    • @hughhou
      @hughhou  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      16 bpc - but let me research more on this and get back to you. I believe Premiere is the same as Resolve nowadays with 2021 release - but I can be wrong.

    • @MHM4V3R1CK
      @MHM4V3R1CK 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm also confused about this. Stacking lumetri effects should not result in clipped values, but it always seems to happen! Can anyone chime in on this?

    Loved this video, very helpful but I have 1 thing that I still cant seem to wrap my head around, if anyone can answer this that would be great! I am confused on when to create a proxy. I know I should do my corrections in the master file then create a proxy from that. But then should I hold off on ALL OTHER Color-grading / Luts until my project is edited then toggle off the proxy and add the rest of the color grading & Luts?

    • @hughhou
      @hughhou  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I usually create Proxy as early as possible. You can always turn off proxy mode to see actual RAW result.

    • @jasonlanham7730
      @jasonlanham7730 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@hughhou Thank you! So you color grade with your proxy's? or do you just toggle them off to do your grade?

    • @EricGiovon
      @EricGiovon 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@jasonlanham7730 I noticed that when I applied a LUT and had the proxies tab enabled there was a lot of chromatic aberration. Once I toggled back to Raw it disappeared. That being said, I imagine the best way to grade is with the Raw files. The downside is playback won't be smooth unless your computer can handle it.

    • @MHM4V3R1CK
      @MHM4V3R1CK 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jasonlanham7730 you definitely want to grade your raw files with proxies off. One thing to note is that the proxy workflow outlined in this video can cause a lot of problems when you "interpret footage" to a different frame rate. It's better to keep that the same, and use the speed/duration on the clip in the timeline instead.

    Are nvidia cards good for komodo?

  • @fawwazallie7736
    @fawwazallie7736 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I am just gonna rant. If you have 6k to 8k to spend on a Komodo. Just get resolve. Resolve 3 nodes render. Done.

    • @hughhou
      @hughhou  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Lol no problem. I use Resolve too and it is free under 4K - so it cost a lot less than Premiere. But 90% of my viewers are in Premiere camp and in VR - which I am using TWO komodo for VR180 production - Premiere is the ONLY application natively support VR180. Resolve I have a tutorial on that but still a lot more complicated. Resolve great in color but not so good at everything else unless some one learn Fusion. Which I do highly recommend anyone to learn Fusion 16.

    If you’re trying to be funny, and it’s not working, or you’ve got to be high.
    You talked about transferring your footage from Premier to Resolve … But I don’t even understand why you would need to do that. You can cut in resolve every bit as good as you can in premier, and probably better.

    • @hughhou
      @hughhou  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes we are trying to be funny and prob a little bit high lol. Anyway, yes, you can absolutely cut in Resolve and finish it in Resolve - actually what you suggested is a better workflow. This tutorial is more for Premiere editor not want to use Resolve for editing. There are lots of us know want to cut in Premiere and only color in Resolve :) Thank you for stopping by and feedback. We do really appreciated.
