Unfortunately he started out with the coin gun, because I’m pretty sure there’s not even a way to not attack with anything and still beat hard mode and farm for the coin gun lol
@@NightKoneko a while back happydays actually managed to beat all of terraria without using a single weapon, by using traps, lava, and boulders. Granted this was in 1.3 so some of the methods may be patched.

The fossil armor might actually be better for the coin gun because of the chance not to consume ammo applying to the coins.
Or just use ammo reservation potions and the ammo box

Tip: ammo in the inventory is consumed left to right top to bottom, so if you put a bunch of copper coins in your inventory and put silver and gold in the bottom right of your inventory then the copper should get consumed first
Coin gun takes coins from top to bottom. He was already managing his coins in the coins section
I'm surprised you can't put copper coins in the ammo slot
8:38 I agree, the crumbling bricks sound like a good idea on paper, but in practice they're more of an annoyance than a secret passage in the dungeon
The problem is when they don’t crumble all the way

The just block the entrance it pisses me off

The coins automatically combine when you pickup new money. What I wanted was for the coin gun to craft the coins down for me instead of having to open my inventory every 30 seconds.

If ever there was a playthrough that called for a Gem Tree farm, it's this one.
it takes way too long to grow gem trees, its better to farm normal enemies with 10 copper coins to get 2 silver out of it

@@mikeysaurlol bro what? In prehardmode I had a massive diamond tree farm that got me over a stack of diamonds at one point. Just get a bed and it’s the easiest money possible
@@jprockafella9012 you spent atleast an hour building the farm and then used a bed to farm it, if you just make one and actually get to progression it'll take a while, and who wants to watch a livestream of someone sleeping in a bed in terraria?

The coin gun is only viable in journey mode, or if you have an ABSURDLY efficient money farm.
Or you cheat and have a ton of platinum
I mean it's pretty easy to get platinum. I usually have almost 100 at the end of every playthrough I complete.
@@AzureRT456 The Tsunami; another ranger weapon you can get at the start of hardmode, yet is far easier to get and doesn’t eat your entire life’s savings for breakfast; has roughly the same DPS as the coin gun.

Literally impossible. Moon lord heals to quick.
The coin damage rates have an insane effieciency falloff with the cost of using the next step up being an 100 to 2 ratio, the cost to fire is multiplied by 100 but the damage output is multiplied by 2
btw you should try this on master mode where you drop all money on death, really amp up the challenge
You can tell the huge difference in his voice from when he's narrating and then in the actual gameplay

The coin gun is actual really good in adventure mode as you can dupe platnum coins.

oh i had a money farm when i got into terraria recently without watching tutorials
i used to farm for vertebra and vicious mushrooms on the crimson [taking the opportunity to make an arena for later farms (i didnt know at the time there was a "hardmode")], make the brain summon item and get 2 stacks of crimtane within two to three fights
1 stack would get me at least 1 platinum coin from a happy npc. I used to do this a lot since i enjoyed combat in terraria. When i fought the wall of flesh, i had almost 40 platinum coins on me.
Today i go for the efficient ones available on the web tho

Oh lord, coin gun is all i ever use throughout the game during hardmode and since I always have so many platinum coins allowing to even beat moonlord with it and I've done that so many times to the point where I actually thought to myself "how is this a challenge run?Isn't this normal?"

THe nice thing about the coin gun, is that killing any enemy should always result in a net ammo profit, since it takes anywhere from 2-5 bullets for most small enemies, and if they drop silver, you get at best 98 ammo back.

A greedy ring or lucky coin ammo conservation potion ammo box some shroomite armor makes this insanely more viable as you have a way lower chance to lose coins meaning you have like 10x more shooting time especially useful using platinum coins

Crumble bricks were annoying as an obstacle and don't fall away sometimes so you end up having to mine a path in the dungeon.
They should have only been used as a trap floor.
I missed this series
It's before 1.4.3 so i know for sure, that version has the dupe glitch. Once an item is dropped (i don't know under what circumestences) an item can duplicate itself multiple times. I discovered that by mistake, i once died in multiplayer in my friend's world (not opened by terraria, but by a site on the internet. That may be related but as i said i discovered that glitch by accident) and my 16 gold coins were dropped and multiplied to 300 platinum coins, then on the same server he gave me a terraprisma which has once again duplicated. No idea why or how that happened but if it can happen in normal singleplayer terraria that could have carried the run
