Things I have noticed about the tactic (YOU CAN TWEAK!) - a lot of chances are created by crossing in wider areas (work ball into box may help reduce this). - tactic originally started as 3-4-2-1 (with wide midfielders) but the 2 attacking mids offered little out wide. 3-4-3 provided better balace (Xavi says formation isn't important). - majority of the passes were played out wide (to wing-backs). Changing attacking width to narrow had very little, if any, effect. The main ideas I wanted to recreate was the build-up shape and pattern, attacking play, use of width and possession-based football. With FM22 recreations - you can’t get everything the exact way we'd like because limitations. Comprimising is fine (and can be fun).
Well sadly the match engine is quite a bit broken at the moment, everything turns into wingplay and crosses/corners with lots of headers. Trying to stop that from happening isn’t even that doable haha, so I’m waiting for full release with updated engine.

Make sure to add “work ball into the box”. I experimented without it and forgot to put it back on 😂 better with it on, better link up play around the box, without it, was too many crosses

I will definitely try to use a 433 variation because I want to try to recreate the Guardiola style tiki taka barca used to play in their prime. But I will try to use some of the tactical insights you gave at the beginning of the video 👍
I like these videos. Could you do a tactic to recreate Jose Mourinho’s tactics when he was at Real Madrid sometime? That was a really fun team that scored an incredible amount of goals
Have you watched Xavi introduced his tactic at Coaches' Voice? The way he talked about his passion with possession games is the main reason explaining why Barcelona fans want him so much and believe that he will revive the tiki taka at barca

im currently using this with man utd and everything is really good apart from the actual possession. maybe i need to wait for them to get fully used to the tactic but i either have 45% or we match even. i have changed the striker to a dlf a and i find it helps alot and the attack is starting to combine together alot better with one. there is alot of wingplay and its really refreshing to watch.
@@RDFTactics something im also finding is i have almost triple shots on target than the other team but im not scoring any its weird since i have cr7 in the box. im guessing im not creating many good chances. ima look at all the shots im taking and see where they come from.

What would be amazing is if you could go into a bit more detail on important attributes for the team in general, so maybe for this one work rate, natural fitness, passing, decisions, not everything, just key. I like to have these added and listed on my squad view for each tactic which becomes my 'DNA' and any player that doesn't meet it gets sold! Also, for key roles the best player traits to have and what not to have. Again for example on this one, the left WB, DLP and AP, what traits suit the roles and what doesn't as I've seen they make a massive difference on how the team performs in the tactic. If you do take this suggestion, please do it for this tactic and just suggest in the comments! Keep up the great work 👍
Thank you for the feedback and suggestions Edmund. So, this year I'm planning to do more tactical videos but like you said, it will be more explaining and not always downloadable tactics. When I started, my videos were about 25-30mins long because I tried to fit so much detail into one video but I can see where people skip the videos - it tends to be when I'm waffling haha so, I'll be doing individual videos explaining things like traits/attributes and when to use certain roles and that should help people understand things and my thinking a bit better

But maybe as your going through the player instructions for maximum 3 key positions suggest positive / negative player traits. And when you start the team instructions mention maximum 5 key attributes. Really appreciate you can't please everyone but hope you see the value in trying this because it's key for the tactics to work long term as they are not plug and play. And I love your waffle, I watch from the first to last minute!
In the Coaches' Voice video Xavi describes his 3-4-3 formation having two pivots and two attacking inside midfielders. Therefore it is box midfield with 3 defenders at the back and 3 attackers upfront (two wingers plus number 9). Have you tried that?
I did - I put in my pinned comments why I reverted to 3-4-3 and tried to get that shape through practice rather than formation (he said in the same video that formation doesn’t matter). But I had 3-4-2-1 with wide midfielders and 2 attacking midfielders but the wingers were always isolated. The AMs focussed centrally rarely drifting to link up. I just made the wingers cross the ball. I did forget to put “work ball into box” back on 😂🤦🏾♂️

Then he dropped down one of the pivots into the back line, shifted the other pivot and the shape became more traditional 433. It will be interesting to see what he uses at Barca.

Hey RDF, do you think something is wrong with the ME? The possession and pass completion ratio are so weird, even the worst teams in a league are able to get ~85% pass completion, which seems quite unrealistic, and because of that it's almost impossible to get 55% possession consistently even with a top top team. Something feels off to me compared to 21
the point in recreations is to test with one team. AJAX tactic will not work with Burnley. That's not how football tactics work. If you want a gamebreaking tactic then recreations are NOT that
Al-Sadd don't play with a playmaker, not an advanced one anyway. There's not one player who they look to play the ball to create chances. Santi, Guilherme and Jung Woo-young are all excellent on ball but aren't focal points. They do multiple roles rather than just play make - in FM, playmakers are specialised roles where they'll only focus on playmaking.

Possession was better when using the 3-4-2-1, apart from when we played the ball wide. I’m wondering if the IFs could be changed to IWs
