    Hey loves! As requested today's video is about how I became a Paralegal plus the pros and cons of the job. This is just my personal experience in how I became interested in the legal field. DISCLAIMER: I mentioned as a con that some employers expect long hours, due to the culture of the work environment, whether your compensated or not. This does indeed happen at some firms, however, I want to emphasize greatly that THIS IS NOT THE CASE FOR MY EMPLOYER. The way I worded it may seem like this but I have personally never worked more than what I was compensated for and just wanted to clarify that.

I want to pursue criminal cases, and looking to start a summer internship because I am soooo scared to jump into the law firm. I want to become an attorney as well, and hopefully go further to be a supreme Court Justice (big dreams). I'm glad I stumbled across this video, because now I can breath a sigh of relief about finding a job in the law firm. Once I graduate in April 2025 I don't have any intention on stopping at being a paralegal. As soon as I am able I will be re enrolling in school until I get to law school and take my bar. Thank you so much. I'm 27 so I started kind of late, but when I tell you I'm pushing myself like crazy, it's amazing how far I have come. Thanks again for the video I really needed this ❤

Right after graduating I found my first job as a pharmacy tech thinking that’s what I wanted to do. But realized I didn’t like it and got me so depressed because I had to see people becoming addicted to their meds and realized something was really wrong with our society and how we medicate homelessness. So I changed my career and went back to school I found a a MA program in human rights. Now i am finding my way to enter this field taking a paralegal course online

    Hey. Question.
    I'm thinking of doing the Certificate, seeing as I've already done university with a BA degree. However, I hear the diploma is more valuable.
    What do you think?

    • @Queenieurbane
      @Queenieurbane  3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Hi! Thanks for watching! I believe a certificate would be best in addition to your degree. A degree holds more weight to a law firm than a diploma, especially if it’s a legal related degree. A diploma is best for someone without a degree. If your degree isn’t related to the legal field you can still find a paralegal job by showing of your other skills such as organization. Most jobs provide on the job training anyway because each firm is rain differently and use different programs. A diploma is nice but not necessary since you’ve already completed 4 years of school. Thats like getting an associates (the “diploma”) after already having your bachelors. A certificate can be more specialized in a firms need (Ex: legal research). Hope this helps xo

    I'm probably one of the few black men doing this, so I feel compelled to write. I am a Business Law major at Arizona State University and I'm taking a paralegal certificate program, both of which are online. In my market, Pittsburgh, it seems like they want you to have gone through a program. I've applied to several entry-level positions that offered training. I have had no luck getting a position. I would vlog but I don't have the time. My goal is to become a Real Estate Attorney or M&A, just so long as I'm doing some sort of business law. I don't want to go into civil litigation. Great video. If you want to make decent $ and don't mind doing research, this is for you. Be easy!

      There are a couple of routes you can go if you’re looking for something quick try enrolling into an accelerated paralegal certificate program (few months- 1 year). Certificates are usually quicker to obtain vs an associates degree but you can go the associates route as well which takes about 2 years. Just try to make sure the program is ABA accredited.

      Hi thanks for watching!
      I am honestly not to sure since I am still new to the field. A master’s would seem to hold more significance than any certificate. I know a certificate is strongly encouraged at big firms because you may need it to do things such as court appearances. However, not every paralegal job requires you to get your certificate or do things such as appear in court. Sometimes they just need an organized professional to help with their crazy work load. A paralegal title depends more on the firms needs. I recommend contacting @paralegalcharmschool on Instagram for you to get more accurate advice regarding this from a more experience paralegal! I don’t want to give you misinformation! Xo

BLM literally stands for everything but blacks lives! Jesus help these ladies🙏🏼 lightening literally striking down the face of the George Floyd mural says it all! God is angry! The lies....the many sick lies!!! Racism is not an issue in America. And slavery existed since the beginning of time and EVERY race and ethnicity suffered from slavery. Lastly...let me note: the very people pushing these agendas and propaganda to create Marxist/communist mayhem here in America subscribe to the very political party who adopted the racisms and segregation’s of blacks and were angry as hell that republicans wanted to abolish it and the bills drafted and passed the democrats fought tooth and nail to halt to continue to gross violence against blacks way back then. Also, where is the inclusion for Hispanic Americans and Asian Americans and every other group? The BLM fraud has duped you badly! $19,000,000 + on blacks loosing their lives because of their “cause” and black families saw ZERO $$$ how is that a good thing? How is BLM contributing any real honest and good change to America and blacks ? I’d truly love to hear it because someone out there MUST have the answer.

    I have been a paralegal for 28 years. I have done criminal defense, was a Social Security Disability Representative, Personal Injury, and now litigation defense. Although this field will, to some degree, improve your standard of living, there is no future in it. Lawyers are pampas a$$holes.....especially PI attorneys who lie, steal, and have a generally low degree of character. Think hard before jumping into this field. If I could take it all back, I would have built a business so to avoid being an undervalued slave.
