These waves are horrible for surfing ..way too tumultuous. I worked at Hoag Hospital nearby and unfortunately a 17 yr old was slammed to the sand in these waves and was paralyzed from the neck down..😪

In Seattle now, but quit this place 30 years ago. Winter swell, went bodysurfing, dropped in late, fell off the top and all the water was gone. Crunch, crunch, crunch, all the vertibrae in my neck cracked as I hit face first in the sand.
The take off at 0:50 is unbelievable! The drop is 20ft straight down from the lip to the base and he doesn’t nose dive. No idea how he pulls it off!
And then the wave rears up like a mountain behind him at 0:56 as he rides away. Awesome 😎

for sure man thank you, i take my mp4 file and upload it to dropbox, then on the dropbox app download it to my phone, then use a program called square ready video and its ready to upload

The back wash actually softens the blow of the wave on the inside. Not always but sometimes. A short ride but the sections are awesome!

They should bring back the trifecta series and to hold an event here. The Wedge, Sandspit, and some other sketchy place in So Cal. Maybe get some CT riders out in these conditions and see what happens. Even if you hate the idea you would still watch it.
They should do seal beach when the swell hits as well
Yes, Seal Beach, excellent idea. That would be perfect. Some mutant surf trifecta event series. More people watch these videos than just about any where and alot of these guys should be getting paid for this shit. Like when Redbull had JOB down there that was cool. Its funny that you suggested Seal Beach because the week JOB was in town for the Redbull thing, didnt the Seal Beach pier burn down? I think he was actually in Seal beach too that day doing some jetski stunts for Redbull or something. They never said what caused that fire. Hmm. Any way, who wouldnt want to see what the top guys at these three spots in particular. Id like to see what would come out of something like that.

thanks man, thats the shutter, usually keep the f stop around f9 with the blaring sun, and use the shutter to change exposure ranges between 1k-4k shutter

Any recommendations for fins?
fins should be about comfortability and fit first, i personally prefer Vipers yellow dot classics however they are stiffer fins, if you want something more flexible a lot of water photogs use da fin, i also used to use tech 2's a long time ago that were super comfy

This looks like reasonably unhealthy surfing. Fun, but I remember body surfing near here and being 6 feet up in a wave and seeing nothing but a floor of sand in front of me. Almost broke my back and walked in with 2 pounds of sand in my shorts. Life is good!

the ONLY thing that sucks about the wedge is that no matter how good of a ride you get after the initial dropin, you never have the chance to be spat out the tube it always closes out right on you.
