    its Lawyers in China and the United States are similar in daily life. I wonder if you usually go to other cities on business? Can an Illinois lawyer's license appear in a California court?

    • @JackDuffley
      @JackDuffley  ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't usually travel for mine, and a lot can be done from home. To your question, some attorneys can appear in other states if they get a special permission to do so, and it's usually only for a limited scope.
      Thanks for watching!

    Would you recommend getting a real estate license for real estate big law? I’m applying to law schools this fall and am considering pursuing this once I get my acceptances. Thanks for all the info you provide on this channel!

    • @JackDuffley
      @JackDuffley  2 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      I can't imagine having the license would hurt, and closing a couple transactions as an agent would probably be decent experience, but it's by no means necessary. At worst, it shows some interest in real estate in general. Having my license probably marginally helped me during interviews (but I also had other real estate experience, namely property management at a large real estate company with a fairly strong local reputation and an internship at a commercial real estate law firm).
      And no problem! Thanks for watching!

      It's a lot of work, no doubt. I think a lot of it depends on your practice area and specific team, but it's definitely not for everyone. The average career length in big law is pretty short since it can get exhausting.
