In my opinion, Roy Keane is the best player in premier league history. Now, before my head bitten off, he's the best leader I've ever seen, the most consistent passer, an underrated dribbler, tackled like a center half, and won games. Never has somebody put the team on their back like Keane, never has a man rallied a team, never has a man commanded a pitch like Roy Keane. I haven't seen anybody like him since, and I miss it.

I love and respect Keane, but Stevie G could do everything Roy could, Scholes could and Lampard could, he was a leader, aggressive, passing range was unbelievable, and he scored his fair amount of goals! Was he as good a leader as Keane? No! Was he as good a passer as Scholes, no, was he as consistent on the goal front as Lampard? No! But he could do ALL of them to a top level! Keane was a great player, but not the best! He’s the best commentator though, love listening to him talk about football as well!

I remember in the late 90s people consistently talking about Keane being denied Player of the Year because of his temperament before he won 1. It was remarkable the difference between Utds performances when he played and when he didnt. When you consider the players they had.

Roy in the Premier league was definitely a great player but not a match for Matthaus & koeman , but hey just my opinion and two of the best at that all round kinda holding midfielders plus they could play sweepers and did for the latter part of their careers the German at 38 and the Dutchman managed to bag about 240 goals playing as a defensive midfielder or centre half .

Keane going on about the mentality a player should have after walking over the white line of the pitch had me welling up inside. How there's fallouts in any industry but that you have to give your absolute all regardless.
Playing forward and simple is exactly what United lack today. The tangibles and intangibles Roy brought just don't exist today. Everyone's way too PC and sensitive.

THIS IS IT: 'Experts' and football fans alike, drone on and on about stats these days, as if to suggest the player with the most goals and assists is the most vital player in the team. Keane's killer stats are unimpressive, but as Cunningham said, he kept the ball moving, always played it forward, broke up and ignited attacks. Without that quality, you don't win football matches very often. So, yeah, I'd say Keane was the best player in Premier League history. Shove your highlights reel

True, but what Keane said still wasn't that bad. He said Cunningham, as captain, wanted to be everyone's best mate rather than trying to win the game. Considering how Keane laid into Walters and Sir Alex he was relatively tame towards Cunningham.

While he was a classy player, he did have an aggressive, dirty side to his play that went over the edge at times, and his deliberately breaking Alfe Haagland's leg (and then boasting about it in his book, released around 15 months later) did take something away from his achievements and have a lot of people wondering "what the f*** is with this guy?" In addition, his cynical, shoot-from-the-hip criticism of the Irish defenders after the infamous Thierry Henry's handball in 2009 was uncalled for, as were his comments about Irish fans at Poland / Ukraine in 2012 (some of whom, no doubt, had made him richer by buying his shirts over the years) who deserve to be respected. As assistant coach he did give the players that bit of confidence that had been lacking, which I applaud him for, but all in all, he's a complex guy: God to Man U. fans, the devil to others; and this is coming from a die-hard Ireland fan...No offence intended to fanatical RK fans, but I'm simply stating some facts... peace brothers and sisters....

Did i just hear "he wouldn't have the technical ability of Gerrard"?
This lad has never played football at any level if he's making statements like that. Long range shots which were few and far between and dried up in the second half of his career, and happened because his team was poor, which gave him license to shoot, mean he has superior technique?
Roy Keane has scored long range goals, he just played at a better team that won things so he never took it upon himself to smash from long range like Gerrard most games. Look up how many Gerrard missed.

gerrard easily a technically a better player than roy keane lol also scholes was popping them in from long range in the same team so what exactly are you talking about

@@shesbaldbutiwould You're proving my point, when you have Someone like Scholes in your midfield next to you along with other Utd cast members, then there's not as much on your shoulders to take all the hit and hope chances, that may sometimes go in.

Roy Keane is a great player, coz his from Ireland.
The Ireland do. no. have. Any good player.. That's why the Irish people think his a good player.
In Brazil he doesn't play in our five player Street team. It is what it is.
