That replica swayed at any angle like the cars in the TV show. Doesn't look like upgraded the suspensions. It handled like back in the day. Looks like most US cars from the past had soft suspensions. It was all about a smooth ride comfort. Still a fun video to watch.
I love love love love your video love the car of course I can't get an opportunity to drive it well Lisa had an opportunity to see it up thumbs up guys
I Owned a 1976 Torino @ S & H had a Gran Torino @ Owned it Over 8 - Year's. Auto. on column, Had 351 M Engine, Header's 3/4 Race cam. F-70's Front, L-60's Rear.@ 14" Deep Dish-Mag's @ Full Length Crome Side-Pipe's @ Car's Exhaust @
You have to learn the Torino. She will slide through ANY corner, so you have to be good...countersteer the fishtail..kick the tail out when entering a corner...you can't drive her like a Porsche.
That was typical of all these big old cars, too much power at the rear wheels which when pushed hard, would cause the rear end to try and overtake the front. That was classic performance of these big old "Land Yachts" as we call them here in the UK.
So much power and torque applied to the rear wheels. Modern cars are almost always front wheel drive, so this would be impossible. Although you could do a front end Donut I suppose.
I think these guys were just having too much fun !! Swerving around the corners, if you had better suspension on there you wouldn’t be sliding around those corners like they were
I bet it be a great drift car since it naturally slides all over anyway I see these resto cars and suprised no one changes the suspention I mean crap put some pst poly bushings and end links and some ajustable shocks to stiffen it up that thing looked like Jell-O
Yeah, the ol' girl didn't very well at all by todays standards, but remember the four door Torino's and the other mid seventies cars they were chasing didn't handle at all. And that was the 70's.
Nice engine but really the car rolls around on every corner shud have added better suspension package and on the rear .... A Honda civic type r cud leave this in the boonies 😁
I had a 1974 in Deutschland, drove it like Starsky (showing all other drivers how great the Gran Torino performed / handled (Gabriel Hijackers in the rear) then a 1975 in California, doing the same WITHOUT any upgrades like Rousch - type stuff . . . . . . . you are a terrible driver. But then, that is my viewpoint.
I’ve wanted this car since 1975 when I was 9 years old!
Still looks cool as always!
I laughed hysterical at the fun you guys had from the unexpected body roll!

Maybe front and rear sway bars, and possibly some heavy duty shocks too?

Though there is something to be said for suspension upgrades. Especially if you're gonna put a beast of a motor in it.

is that why the back wheels spin soo much?

I love how these guys don’t baby the cars they drive. Doesn’t matter how much it cost. They’re gonna thrash it.
Either theyre both stoned or they had giggle moodle soup lol. Love the Striped Tomato!
I would take this any day over that Porsche that blew past them.
Where in California is the restoration shop they mentioned and the name

Great!

What l didn't like about the show was you had a beautiful car, great paint job but the wheels were always dull, not shiney like this video!

Yeah, the ol' girl didn't very well at all by todays standards, but remember the four door Torino's and the other mid seventies cars they were chasing didn't handle at all. And that was the 70's.

Well at least it looks cool, Fords are not known for handling & performance
It is to light on the rear end

The guy can't drive, the real car did not have wigwags, strobes, and that style dual exhaust
