Love the anti hauls as much as I love the hauls. It's so healthy to normalise being a collector who also gets rid of pieces.
You can get a Panasonic UB450 4K player for $165 and a region free blu-ray player for about $100 nowadays. I just keep both hooked up.
Exactly, it would be nice to have it all together if she needs a 4K player but 4ks are region free. And an Xbox One X, Xbox series X and PlayStation 5 all play 4K Blu-rays if she likes the game.
I personally don't like to buy Blu-rays I can't play on any player. I feel like I'd fork out $200 to play like 20 movies.
$200 is the cheapest I've seen a region free Blu-ray player.
Gurl, you better watch the rest of The Villainess, i swear is one of the best accion movies with great emotion scenes and plot twist, you will like it, maybe not love it, but like it

That's a good one I need to sit down and finish. If there's a movie I'm struggling with sometimes l'll fast forward the slow parts or the difficult parts and then I realize the last 30 minutes is so great I'm going to keep the movie.
Now hopefully, I eventually I do sit through the whole movie.
This movie definitely looks up my alley.
I don't mind first person stuff because I'm a big fan of hardcore Henry.

nooooooo... The Villainess is badass (you gave up too soon) the story is deeper than you'd think and the second half is crazy good (especially the bus scene)
One of my favorite made for TV horror movies is Gargoyles from 1972. Loved it as a kid and I watched it last Summer (I think) and I still loved it. It was one of Stan Winston's earliest movies. I always root for the Gargoyles because the humans are evil. It's on Letterboxd too.

While still not cheap 220 Electronics has fair prices on 4K region-free players in the $200 range. I got my old Sony UBP X-700 from them, and it was only around 70 dollars over what the regular retail price is. The Panasonic UB820 is also an option now that it goes on sale around Black Friday. You can buy that player from most regular online retailers and use the top menu trick to get around region coding.
PS: You should give Class of 1999 a try. It’s a completely different film from 1984. It’s basically “what if your teachers were actual terminators?”

Just get a ps5. Ps5 is already a 4k player. If youre paying a lot of money for something to play 4ks, might as well have the option to game as well
Exactly, unless a person's worried about Dolby vision. There's only some movies that feature that expanded HDR. I got a Panasonic player that's compatible with dolby Vision just because both my TVs are capable.

I actually love Class of 1984, it was fun exploitation movie. Director also did Commando with Arnold and Showdown in Little Tokyo, the semi-sequel to this movie called Class of 1999 that went full sci-fi (teachers are replaced with robots that go murderous rampage on students), but after that he kinda fell of the cliff, because he's been directing bunch of 2 star movies on IMDB since 2000s. I mean his latest movie made in like 2014 was called "Poseidon Rex" and I think that tells you everything.

I've already seen Mike Flanagan's Hush 3 times on Netflix before it was pulled out. Is it really worth a purchase? Hell yeah! Lol
Regarding the movie, there's a scene if you look at the background; on the bookshelf, there's a Stephen King novel in there. Funnily enough, Mike Flanagan ended up doing a film adaptation of Doctor Sleep. I wonder if that was intentional 🤔. BTW, it wasn't a Doctor Sleep novel sitting on the bookshelf. I'll let you discover that one if you haven't already.

I smiled when I first saw a Stephen King novel sitting on the bookshelf. What makes that scene great is that Mike Flanagan didn't make it look obvious. You'll miss it when you don't pay attention what's in the background.
I've been wanting It's Alive trilogy but just haven't been able to afford much these days.
Anti-haul is fun wordage to me, but I’m also toying with the idea of having the opposite of a haul be a hurl. I mean you got the same number of syllables, the alliteration, and the association with throwing or throwing up (nice metaphors for purging unwanted stuff, amirite??). Just spitballing here!

To each their own But I love observe and report it's hilarious how He completely loses it in that movie! It's a dark comedy. The main one I'm questioning is 1984 but I need to really sit down and watch that myself. But then again if you don't like exploitation films like I do. I think that has a spiritual sequel called 199-(something) I believe that film is a lot more fun.

Yeah, if it's not good, it's not good. TV horror movie doesn't have to mean bad movie. There are many spectacular ones -- Duel, Nightstalker, 'Salem's Lot, Dark Night of the Scarecrow, Trilogy of Terror, etc. Hey, that would be a fun list/discussion -- best TV horror movies.

I always like viewing your Anti hauls to see what will be available on Poshmark. I was hoping to see a Steelbook of Army of Darkness. Since that movie is no longer your favorite of the Evil Dead movies. 🤔 oh wait I have the steelbook already in my collection. 😜

I’m still going through some titles I got from you. Anything to help out the channel. Too bad I already have the Count Yorga DVDs. Yes they are old vampire movies. I’m still glad you got to review some of them. When you do a deep dive on Vampire movies you will at least know that they exist. A third one? I do not recall myself. 🤔

Nice! Anna Faris is great, she's truly one of one.. I don't know if you've seen it but Smiley Face is her best performance, it's brilliant stuff she's so committed, it's a stoner comedy and one of the most underrated in the genre..
Kevin Smith was really vital to the indie movement in the 90s.. he created his own universe, so a lot of his films have the same actors playing the same recurring characters.. he's more about dialogue and less about style.. honestly not sure what you'd think about his filmography.. even though I'd start with Clerks, I think Zack and Miri Make a P*rno would potentially be more your speed, it's classic Seth Rogen and Elizabeth Banks and also has Justin Long with one of the cameos ever, seriously.. but it's a wild film, not sure if you'd love it or hate it haha..

Grab yourself a cheap PS4 to play different region Bluray and DVD. It's not 4k i don't think but it's cheap and you can play a lot of different regions.
Look up your brand of blu ray player you have and see if it's possible to hack it multi region

Most titles that I thrift are $3-4. If I find them at vintage stores they’re $1-2. Horror pack sends me boxes every month and subs have sent the rest! I almost never buy anything for myself brand new

"Let Me In" is definitely nothing special. Worth every bit of the $2.15 I spent on it at Goodwill. The original is all you really need.
Richard Jenkins is pretty good though.

I personally Want to play my movies on any player so I don't do region free players. Maybe one day.

the only i spit on your grave movie that's kind of worth watching is the 2010 one and maybe the sequel to that. but the original, deja vu, and the second sequel to the remake are not worth watching.
The original one is the best one. it's just super f up and if she doesn't like exploitation she's probably won't like it.
I kind of like the remake. Obviously, it's not as f up. Which I can't talk about without spoiling the movie. It's hard to watch but the original is actually considered a feminist classic because of the revenge theme. Just like slashers were considered empowering to women because the main protagonist always finds her inner strength to defeat the demon. Just based on that title
Deja Vu looks bad. It could be so bad it's good.
