We used to skip high school to play multi-player at my friend's house. It's hard to believe Nintendo would allow a game so vulgar. One of my favorite games of all time.
The days when Nintendo and Rare were together were truly magical. The sales of the N64 might not reflect it but they created some truly amazing content between this and the SNES
@@PJxBuchwild LOL, my PSX loving friend's used to get so jealous of me playing this scene. They sold their PSX's & bought N64's with this game, Perfect Dark, GoldenEye 007, World Driver Championship, Smash Bros & the Turok Dinosaur hunter series.
Story of my life back then lol Also the fact that when you get headshotted in midair, the game still goes in slowmo so watching conker slowly fall to the ground was (sarcasm) the best thing ever
This was my favorite part of the game when I was a kid. I'd replay this level over and over again because I was so obsessed with The Matrix. However, when I played the level, for some reason I remember those giant pillars getting blown to shards. Like when you shoot them, they'd crumble and pieces would break off. I only saw like one or two pieces break off during this playthrough.
The game is definitely not for kids. I can legitimately look back now, as an adult, and say "I shouldn't have been allowed to play this." However, my parents didn't know any better. They weren't aware there even WERE video game ratings. They used to let me go to the video store and rent anime movies all the time. Little did they OR the movie store know that 40% of the anime videos they rented out were actually hentai videos. They couldn't tell the difference so they just put them on the shelves with the rest of the kids anime movies. The first time I popped one in and they all started getting naked and having sex, I was like "is this the best cartoon ever made or what?"
Chad Small To a point, I'm sorry that you're parents were so careless at the time. I can look back and thank my parents for paying attention to a lot of things such as the rating system that is on both movie and games, but I'm never gonna understand why my parents wouldn't let me play ANY rated M games at all at the age of 18 and up. I had to move out in order to do what I wanted to do. I'm very happy.
+Kippy Kip (Kippykip) thats correct. It requires much less power to cout this extra models than to make reflex calculations :D this tecnique was also used on early 3D mobile games o/
ESTAMOSJUGANDOSP Uh? Not really sure actually. Probably because it still takes a little bit effort to make a level that draws the players underneath it too.
GoldenEye 007 did this trick too. They did it for Water Reflections in Frigate and Egyptian, however it was just the stage. Characters weren't reflected. Mario's reflection in SM64 is extremely complicated as it's a CPU Mario and the game looks at you every single frame and tells Mirror Mario to copy what you are doing but mirrored. Lakitu was just behind the mirror. If you edit the level to put a door in the mirror you can go to the other side and Mirror Mario & Lakitu will go to the real side. Collision is actually not 100% correct as they expected you to never be back there and never bothered to fix it. SM64 DS is a different matter entirely since Luigi can and is supposed to be able to go through the mirror. Lakitu stays inside the Mirror and you can actually enter the door and get a Star.
I think the movie Matrix came out in the early 21st-Century (2000-2001) and I think this scene was inspired by the movie, possibly, maybe, probably, definitely.
Fuck this part of the game. The difficulty fucking skyrockets too damn high, funny but piss poor design. Headshotted mid-air, no way to dodge and getting stun locked after every hit and enemies that can one hit you? Yeah, fucking awful.

Nintendo was ok with M rated games.

Oh, really? Lucky! My parents wouldn't let me play this because it was rated mature. Couldn't play any M games until I moved out of my parents house.
+Razor BLADE im still to young and i playd it since i was 12 :D heheheh

you aint alone brotha
The slomo was so fun
Conker is too cool
Look that floor... How was that possible on a Nintendo 64??
ESTAMOSJUGANDOSP Late reply but if you look at 0:52, the game seems to duplicate all the modeling underneath and puts a half see through floor

And why is possibly the only game with that feature in N64 if its that simple?
