When I was a junior in high school I did a biography of all fifty six signers as a project for my history class. I will always remember that this project unfurled a whole new interest in history as well as a deep respect for these men.
It is Americans like you that make me proud not to be part of a “56” but to respect those who respect the 56. You are just as much if not more than one as I. I still do not understand why people so close to the 56 don’t always V O T E or even know they are related. “ One NATION UNDER GOD”

Some people feel tears are a sign of weakness. Though my signatory ancestor was not mentioned verbally, to see his name actually signed so humbly small brings tears to my eyes every time I see it. I hope somehow he still knows his lineage still lives on to this day flowing proudly through my veins.
