I think Holystone customer service is outstanding....and I will tell you why. The third time I flew my new 720E the drone made a hard left and smashed into the house. I couldn't believe it! I had done my calibrations and had solid red & green lights on the arms. So I figured I screwed something up, so I did my calibrations again with the same results. This time there was a chunk out of the front of the drone and the camera housing was dented up pretty good. I contacted Holystone and they sent me a new drone and told me to keep the old one for parts. They also sent me my "bonus" battery for my review. So I now have five batteries and a new drone that seems to fly very well. Not sure what other companies policies are , but they should be like Holystone.
The Aircraft has a major problem It happened to me it’s not only a calibration situation They pacified you by throwing you a bone And your lucky you smashed into a house with out hurting someone This will happen again And if you hurt someone the liability will be BIG And when a complaint is made with the FAA Your going to have a major problem The problem here is the connection between the controller and the aircraft If they don’t solve this problem Especially with me It’s RIP holystone company That’s way the FAA is going with Drone ID This may be one of the reason’s That we don’t know about Don’t trust that drone I’m sorry to say I am going through it now and I didn’t hit anything
Hi, I have had the same issues with my hs720eis. I contacted Holystone and they were brilliant with their responses. They eventually have arranged for me to have a new drone sent out. Love your videos I've learned alot of good stuff from you keep up the good work
As a beginner I crashed mine into the side of the house and no matter how long I held the kill switch in the motors refused to stop spinning the blades, ended up cutting me pretty good, however i still love my 720E. Thanks for you most informative videos! Tony from Bellingham, Washington.
Yesterday I used it and it wouldn't get the gps zero I tried again and I got it ...when I press landing it wouldn't land really close to the floor and bouncing touching the floor but it wouldn't turn off the propellers I pressed the red button to turn off the motors and still kept spinning slow like when you unlock the motors I turned it upside down and still spinning for a few seconds , other malfunctioning is the signal around buildings where I live 5 floor size they have those antennas for cellular service and the drone get disconnected beeping no signal I move from it and the signal came back another time I was going straight at 4 feet Altitude and following the road ....then it went sideways looked like a stutter to the right made the drone out of the road into a building (4 feet Altitude) so I had to press left all the way and it when back to normal.... I didn't crash but is weird this drone is defective and holystone don't care
Same problem with mines a couple months back in summertime it had high winds that they went up fine and stand still then just went left in full speed and cush I couldn't even turn it off with the emergence button and just 3 propeller was spinning when I take it off the ground
I’m trying to determine if flying the drone using only my iPhone is a proper way for drone operations. It seems somewhat redundant to use both the tv controller and my iPhone.
I've had issues with my 720E too, first time i took it out I sent it up and down and landed it with the return to home function and it worked sweet but on the final flight of that day I used the return to home and it went crazy, circled me three times about 30 metres away and crashed into a tree. On another occasion it ignored my commands and flew off and crashed. The motors lock didn't work and I sliced my fingers up trying to power it off. It makes me apprehensive to take it out again but if I do I'll be taking a crash helmet and a long stick.
I am having terrible camera range. Sometimes losing image or freezing as close as 50 meters. I have sent a video done with screen record to holy stone but still no reply.
This is my first drone and I love it. However I have crashed it twice due to being a beginner. The first crash it behaved exactly how you described but after reading the manual I determined that I had improperly calibrated it. I watched a youtube video to learn the calibration and the steps were wrong. ( I should have read the manual first - oops ) Also- Make sure you power it up on a true flat surface or it will surely veer to one side when it flies. ( maybe calibrating on your car was a mistake ) My second crash was because I was in a hurry and didn't clip the battery in all the way. 80 ft up and it dropped like a rock . Thank god for super glue and epoxy putty - repaired and flying well now. My third dumb mistake was when I accidentally hit the switch on the side of the controller and turned off GPS during flight. It was a windy day and it got lodged in the top of a very tall tree. Had to get a bucket truck to retrieve it. since then I have been very careful with the calibration and it has given me no problems. I have taken some very good videos and pics. I did buy a new charger though - they are not very expensive. ]You are right about the emergency motor shutdown - it doesn't work. I still love it though - Very good tech for the price. I think its the best drone out there for beginners. It crashes much cheaper than a DGI. I fly from a wheelchair - A drone is a great thing to have when you are confined to a chair. I would like to suggest that if you move up to another drone - Please donate your old one to someone in a chair- You will make them very happy
Hi Pat, and thankyou so much for sharing your wows and also your delights :) Yes calibration could have been an issue but from people i have spoken too many haver had same problem. I will make sure i calibrate fully every time. I am so glad you enjoy flying your drone and that you love the drone, i fairness i love mine too so im hoping that the replacement unit will be fine. you are right it is a great drone for the price also. It is great that you shred your stories with me and i hope you will continue to participate and i hope you have become part of the 2cat community! oh and i just brought a DJI mini 2 :) so will be creating videos with that also. Enjoy your drone and maybe upload your videos for others to enjoy.
Cool, I fly from a wheelchair as well!!! :-) FWIW: Charge time from a battery that is nearly flat (it was well into stage 1 LVC) was timed at 4:23 (for one battery) and 4:28 for a second one. A third charge cycle (from well into stage 1 LVC) was measured at 4:14.
I can`t seem to fly mine further than 300m or higher than 30m even though I take it out of beginner mode and set the parameters to the max settings. Any others experience this?
Mode two is the orientation of the sticks. In mode two the left stick is the throttle stick to go up and down and spin left of right. The right stick is to pitch forward or backward and rol to the left or the right. If it is in mode 1 then those sticks switch over and throttle is on the left and forward on the right. For say left handed people
I just bought one. Not sure what's going on but my batteries were showing 3 bars out of four. 10 seconds after takeoff it goes red and says battery too low and lands itself. If the battery is truly low, I'm not sure why it shows three bars. I will try to charge them over night and see what happens. Thanks for the review.
Hi vilo, does that happen with all 3? If so could be drone. Then contact Holystone. If it just one then still contact Holystone and they should send you a new battery
@@2CatMedia It's seems that batteries were very low when product arrived. It took for ever to charge them with that little charger of theirs. It seems after they are fully charged that they are holding the charge fine. home button doesn't seems to work, but I didn't gave the app access to my maps and location so that could be the reason. Will experiment some more. Thanks for the reply.
But can see the WiFi. If it a Samsung 20 it would def work. I'd borrowva friend or family phone and try just in case and the contact holy stone. Seems drone has a daily WiFi connection. It not first I've heard of this.
Hey appreciate any help.... sooo my hs720e been sitting for a bit.. go to power up.. all good... but when I go to take off.. the propeller motors go nuts! Like max overload spinning only way to stop it is to power off w button on drone :( dangerous luckily I was holding in my hand testing quick instead of normal launch! would of been lost since controller stops responding and seems like motor is spinning beyond its normal range. any ideas whatsoever!? 3 diff battery's all same
hi could you please help ? when using a mobile phone with the HS720e does the phone need to be connected to a network (have a sim card installed }?or can i use my spear phone ?
Hi Alan, you don't need a sim card and the network you would need to connect to, to see the video images as you fly would be the Holystone network which you should see in your WiFi list once you have turned on your drone.
Same issue with my HS720e flight. Auto takeoff was fine until I moved the right stick forward. It turned left and would not respond to any inputs. Hit a building and broke a leg. Will be contacting HS today.
Just had same issue on my 3rd flight soon as i took off. Everything in preflight was good had 15 GPS satellites. would not respond until I finally hit return to home then halfway back it suddenly dropped from the sky and almost destroyed housing and 2 props. Replaced props and tried a sec time to recalibrate and try again and still took straight off to the left and up at high speed. No control over it at all. Contacted costumer support and after a few questions from them they asked me to email pics of the damage, my order number and my address to start a replacement. I will let you know what I hear from them.
I tried mine for the first time this weekend, all calibrated (sticks bottom right, but not the initial bottom left calibration?) It hovered, but then started to drift slowly to one side. Like about 10m across the field. I had to hold emergency shut-off so it would drop to the ground. Gonna try again soon but tether it to the ground on a few m of bungee cord so I can hopefully safely work out what's going on.
i've crashed mine twice and fixed it twice it's a faulty product has a lot of features however those features don't function properly. I've had the hs110G and the hs720e they're all faulty thank goodness i bought mine for less than 150 not to much a waste of money. It's sad honestly
I recently bought an HS 710 and it did the same thing. but mine went to the right backing to the right and when it’s doing that there’s nothing you can do on the controller to stop it. until it decides to stop or it crashes. I think this is a flaw with holystone drones being that you have a different model and we are having similar problems.
I had the same thing happen to me my Hollystone 720 flipped over into grass and just kept running cut myself on the props trying to shut it off..till i pulled the battery out. Just got my free battery and just yesterday hit a branch and crashed in and it busted the camera off and one arm.
I've had my HS720e for about 3 weeks. I have has almost the same problem that you described! Having very little experience with drones, I assumed that it was my problem. Today I discussed my problem with an experienced (Professional) DJI drone user. His opinion was that the controls weren't calibrated correctly. I have now checked and the Ophelia GO software does not give the ability to calibrate the joysticks as his DJI's do. This led me to start looking at more videos, i.e. yours. Not sure what to do next. I'm not happy with the HS720e now that I have seen his DJI in action.
I press return home on mine and the drone returned started decending and 4ft from the ground it totally head dived into the ground, I replaced all the blades but now the drone tries to flip forward as if the front motors are not balanced with the rear motors im gutted
App keeps crashing...today was my first time flying my HS720e i hit the return home button and it came back and passed over where it was supposed to hover and return to the home point but didn't descend; it kept zooming back and forth till it crashed somewhere...now it is lost...it did about 4 successful RTHs but this last one the drone like it had a mind of its own
So sorry to hear that verd.... Get in contact with holy stone and explain what happened. Explain that this is not an isolated issue. Hopefully they will send you a replacement
First flight was OK. When I replaced battery the drone went up went right at speed and had to cut motor. Will be sending it back. May look at higher end drones since getting my drone certificate.
Sorry, if you need some help you need to give me details. I cannot help if you just say that you just lost the signal. I need to know how you lose the signal such as a certain distance etc.
@@2CatMedia it’s dose , but only few matter even in very open space it’s disconnected. It can fly , but not able to see on application, it’s shows not conactd.
So I just got a 720e for christmas and I'm confused about the max range. Did they limit the range through the Ophelia Go app? With beginner mode off, I can only slide the max distance slider up to 656ft (200m) where I've seen in other videos (maybe one of yours), it actually had a separate slider button where you can toggle off the max distance. Can anyone with the most recent update confirm this as well? I assume waypoints outside of the max range is what is causing my waypoint flying to fail.
I have the Holy Stone 720E. And the highest the drone goes is 15m. The max altitude says 120m. I have taken it off beginner mode and it still doesn’t go above 15m. How do I make it go higher please?
My 720E became difficult to control. It started heading toward a tree and would not respond well to reverse stick. I tried to increase altitude to clear it but too late. Hit branch and tumbled to ground running full throttle; 2 blades were jammed by grass, 2 still running.. tried kill switch on controller to no avail. So I carefully grabbed it and pushed drone on/off; nothing. Tried pushing quick, tried holding down; nothing. When I tried to pull battery I got a blade strike on my finger and cut pretty deep. Had fresh controller batts and 10 satellites when I launched. This unit is getting returned but now leery of Holystone after seeing other complaints.
Yo Question I have a hs720 drone for about a year I flew about a dozen and a half times The last time I flew it the response was not sharp from the controller to the aircraft it seemed like it was going to fly away it didn’t want to respond to quickly I contacted holystone for a new controller. They sent it to me twice and was not able to connect the controller to the drone. So I am going back and forth with them First am I turning it on right then is the battery charged then send me a video then send me a video on how I turn it on. So I explained to them this many be a chip problem. Were you having same problem Thanks
I can pair with the old controller with no problem It can also fly the camera is good The only problem is that the control to the aircraft is not responding correctly
And is the app up to date, or if you try flying without the app (line of sight) does that make any difference. Also are the propellers all in good order as a dodgy propeller can make it fly off a bit
App is update, propellers are good I never crashed it I even tightened the propellers I don’t know So that’s why I asked for a new controller So what they sent me are controller that does not pair I am not trying to get over on them I have other drones Autels that I spent more money on and better drone I perched this holystone at the time to practice with Thanks
Mine reconnects automatically as well. Although I'm having a devil of a time with the drone, the FPV device, and Ophelia Go communicating with one another, when I just say the hell with it and fly strictly-dictly FPV and shove the FPV device in my pocket, I can hear it repeatedly connecting with the drone while it's in my pocket. It's a very unique sound, so I know that I'm not mistaking the sound for something else,
Hello cat. I purchased this drone about 3 weeks ago. I had flown it a few times with no major problems other than the app freezes during flight. This past Sunday something crazy happened. I took the drone up and hovered it about 70ft and in a split second the drone motors reared up and the drone took of making a hard right in full speed and crashed into some trees. Luckily no one was near by or got hurt. It was scary. Note I did all my calibration and all that before take off. As a result of this crazy incident I returned the drone back. I simply lost confidence in this drone and felt it would happen again. What is your thought?
@@2CatMedia I think so too. I'm also an owner of DJI MA2.. no such issues with that drone. I just wanted another drone for my Son to fly with me. I'm considering just spending a few more hundreds and get the DJI mini 2 it's probably worth it in the long run. Thanks for your input
I'm a little late to the party here. I got my hs720e 1 year ago, October 2020 and flew it for about a month or so but have been too busy to fly it since. During that time, I was fairly disappointed in its flying distance. I have only been able to get out to around 600 feet in distance. Thats only good if you want to see what your neighbors are doing. I used an iphone 6s that I had laying around and found the gps on the iphone completely sucks. It never shows my drones exact position. I tried using waypoint to have it fly in excess of the FPV but once it looses contact with the controller it returned to home. So waypoint was useless in my opinion. Once, in my first 10 flights or so while using iphone 6s, it decided my drone was over a mile away. I caught it before launch. I feel this is the cause of "flyaways" for this drone. Once it decided to drift to the left but not dramatically. Still crashed into a tree as I could not overcome the drift. It's solid build kept it from breaking so that's a plus. I also tried iphone 12 and the gps was just as bad. I then used my HTC phone with android and gps was spot on. Did just as well with samsung galaxy. Distance still wasn't what I desired. Using older cell phones isn't recommended as far as I'm concerned but who wants to spend additional money for a good cell phone that's only used to fly your toy? I want something that will fly 2 miles out with clear video and solid FPV so I'm now doing the research on long distance FPV so I can build my own long range copter . I kind of expected someone would have hacked this drone to make it better or at least have modded it for the better but haven't come across anything worth while other than replacing controller antenna. Waiting for someone to show me how to connect a home WiFi router to get better distance? Anyways, that's my 2 cents.
My holystone 720 has been doing the same drifting and swirling like yours I crashed it about 5 or 6 times now to the point I have to replace all props but I'm still not sure will this resolve my problem
Did you calibrate the gyro on the drone? I understand this is not in the instructions. Turn the drone and the controller on, then pull both levers down into the left. Also holding it down into the right does something too I can't remember what. I saw this on a captain drone video. He has some great views on this drone. And he understands what software is used on the controller. And as this is why he knows about the gyro calibration that is not mentioned in the manual.
My cons to date: 1) Lack of camera sharpness adjustment in the app. The HS510 has a sharpness adjustment and with default setting is sharper at 2.5K 25fps video setting. My 720E images are slightly blurry. I would assume active EIS makes it hard to get "crisp" 4K video. 2) the default white balance and "blue tint" with blue flare off of light color bright objects to darker area transistions needs to be tuned better. I use the cloudy day mode instead of AWB and play with saturation to attenuate some and remove blue image tint. 3) my gimbal is smooth going down but jerks some going up. I think the servo is undersized. 4) Stick tracking. Push stick for forward and back etc it tends to not track straight and I have to sligtly predistort stick for going straight. I have had mine for about a month and have not had the drone batteries drop. I have observed altitude hold drop near a house on a non windy day and had to quickly react to maintain the altitude then it was fine. I fly at night as well and have not had any significant flight control issues to date. It just floats along in the night sky which looks cool with the X pattern lights and the landing light. Landing light was a big selling point for me. Really helps find it if you loose visual day or night, same for HS510. I fly the HS510 a lot more than my 720E in part due to the long charge time of thr 720E batteries. This long battery charge time will help the batteries last longer vs fast charging, so I may get another slow charger to solve the slow sequential charging issue which is a small negative. I own a Mavic Mini but find myself using the Holy Stone drones more for fun, and some wide angle shots the mini can't do. I love the HS remote telemetry and it was another selling point for me. I would say the HS510 is my favorite in the HS line, oh and my baby HS190.
I’m new to drones, bought a hs720e. After a few short flights getting use to it I was practicing the forward, backwards, side to side movements. As I moved the left stick to the left, the drone went violently to the left and down and crashed. Have been a little Leary of flying it again. Thought it was my fault, now I’m not so sure.
Yep, happened 4 times with me, on third crash one battery was damaged, contacted them through Amazon and told them I will give it another chance. Well it happen again, and like you was cut up in the process, hand, arm knee.. Contacted HS again and they agreed to send a new one, came in last night.. Only tested last night, will be testing again today to see what happens.. I have until Jan 31 to return through Amazon..
In the app (opheila go) press the settings button in the top right corner. It is a picture of a cog. Then there under the first tab called satey is a lust of parameters you can chose. The second item down is beginners mode and is a switch. If it is blue and pushed to the right then it is in beginners mode. I'd it is dark and to the left then it's not.
Not isolated at all. 4th flight of my HS720, was flying for about 5 minutes and all of the sudden it veered to the left and down and crashed into the "tall grass". 2 arms were broken. It's like it had a mind of its own and just decided that's what it wanted to do. I had NO controll of it whatsoever. I do believe it is a problem that Holy Stone needs to address. I'm wondering if they will fix my drone or replace it but I highly doubt it. As of yet I have not contacted them to find out.
Yes I’ve had the same problem 2 weeks ago my 720 E it lost it gps shot off to the left and out of control hit a metal building at work and it’s still on the roof I asked work if they could go up on the roof to get it they can not get up there with out a permit and a good reason they said the engineers are coming out to inspect the roof with in the next couple of weeks and they will get it for me so I do not no the damage yet so I’ve just ordered another one ? I’ve just seen your video and now I am worried ☹️ the reason I bought another one was because fly it a couple of times and was very happy with it 🙂 apart from when it attracted a flock of birds had to bring it down very quickly. 🙈🦅
The drone is not a bad drone it's just the app can at times cause some issues. Which is why you can use M RC PRO. It could of been the metal building that threw off the GPS.
Had the exact problem the other day when I crashed filming the Sugarmill Ruins. I crashed into a tree and I couldn't get the kill to shut down the motors.
If you had problems before in the same location was they testing jamming equipment on that day listed on skywise that was within range to effect your radio controler ???
Thankyou for commenting Stephen, I take your point but have had other issues in other locations and other pilots have had similar issues too. But great question.
I bought the drone recently and it is pretty good for the price. I do have a problem when I fly above 30m height it will lose gps signal and then return to home, like the beginner mode on ophelia app was still not turned off.
Normally the transmitter will beep if the signal drops you can check the level on the display. But even if you lost WiFi connection the drone will still record to the cd card.
Hi black, just check that the GPS button is in the on position. I think it is on the right side of the transmitter. On the transmitter display it shoukd say gps on or off. Make sure you put doors or near window as can be difficult indoors.
Hi Steve, I own a Holy Stone 720E for about 7 months now. A couple of weeks ago While flying my drone at about 8 meters high it completely flipped over and crashed into the ground. When I inspected the drone the front right arm was broken. I contacted Holy Stone Support to see if they had an answer to why this would happen and they asked me all the usual questions; How many GPS Satelites, weather conditions, did I calibrate the Drone in advance of flight etc. I emailed over the video footage of the Drone flipping over without warning. They have now come back and said they will replace the arm (a one time gesture) To me the crash had to be either a motor failure or fatigue in the arm. 2 questions for you and your subscribers; Any ideas on what may have happened? Should I be happy with a replacement part and no response on why it would have happened? Thanks Tony
Hi Tony, I think their lack of response is due to fact they don't know. I presume the drone flipped because of a motor or propeller issue. I can't see arm braking out of no where apart from it broken after the in pending crash.
You can get the DJI mini the first generation for $300 and I'm sure to blow that out of the water. I have a 720 r coming I'm going to give it a shot because I got it for $170 bucks but I hear a lot of people are having the same problems and it's making me a little worried
Got my HS720E and charged it up, read the manual, then performed calibration/gyro. First time out, it did the same thing in my yard, veered violently to the left, and almost crashed. Then, about 5 minutes later, I got close the curb/street interface and it lost control (wouldn't rotate, would only go forward and backward). In this state, it lost control again and crashed, breaking the rear right arm. I actually epoxied it successfully, then took it out again and the same thing happening. Both times it crashed, the emergency shut off function didn't work. Cut my finger on the second time.
@@2CatMedia Watching your videos actually convinced me to send them an email and make my case. I was doubting myself, thinking it was partially user error. But the more I thought about it and watched videos (including yours and the many comments), the more I realized that it was likely more the drone or controller. Thanks again for sharing.
@@nicorellius well i must say that i was just about to order one until i read all of these, thank you all i refuse now until holystone proves to me that this problem is solved
Hiya Steve we spoke a few weeks ago about which drone to get thanks for advice iwent for the 720E i flew it a few times and ok but yesterday 13th nov i tested the follow me at a low altitude it seemed ok for a while then i hit return to home button and it went completly out of control and CRASHED is this the same problem you had a while ago, thanks again for any advice. Dave Clark.(Netherton)
Well for me I didn't have mine go off uncontrollably whilst using follow me, but, it did go off a few times. If there any issues just send it back and maybe go for the DJI mini SE. It around a similar price point and alot better. Plus it more legal to fly closer to people etc.
I have the exact same drone and this happened to me on the second attempt to fly the drone. When it panned left uncontrollably, I quickly landed the drone safely and recalibrate it before trying it again. Unfortunately, the subsequent time I flew it, it continued to pan left and crashed , breaking a rear arm. I contacted Holystone and told them about it but they mentioned that their drone quality is good and only sent me a replacement arm instead of a new drone which I request. Can some one please help me ? I hope not to spend extra money fixing the drone arm and still have the same problem when it flies :(
If you not happy you need to either ta e drone back to supplier directly or re contact Holystone and suggest it not your job to replace arms. They either repair it for you or send you out a new drone. They are normally quite good. Trouble is as well if it crashes then camera could be affected.
@@2CatMedia thank you so much for your comments ! Yeah , that is exactly what i did and their response was to send me a replacement arm and instruction video on how to fix it. Here in singapore , we don't have a physical holystone outlet/office to provide customer support. I'm intending to us your video link as an evidence as to what has been happening to my drone. So if u do know of anyone else/or have media that I could potentially use to present this problem to them , I would greatly appreciate it 😌 I would also love to show you and everyone how holystone responded to my inquiry when it crashed (I.e. the replacement arm suggestion)
@@2CatMedia I can't send it back because they are saying that they don't take exchanges as of now. They only provide assistance through drone accessories :( how can I send the images to you ?
Hi I bought a second hand hs700e I first used it flew nice than one morning I flew it it was unable its like when I used the joysticks did not respond that well so I have a hs720g I paired the controller with the drone flew it everything was good flew normal so I've just bought a new controller I did try to fly hs700e with the hs720g controller and out of control crashed so at lease hs720g controller will fly the hs700e thank you
I just bought my he720e from myneighbor and haven’t gotten the chance to actually test it except once where it did something similar to what you described. I’ve seen it mentioned elsewhere where someone said the app itself is the culprit. They said they had downloaded an app called M RC PRO and they hadn’t had any issues with it since. I haven’t had the chance to test it since downloading the app but that might be something worth trying. I have connected the app to the drone and gotten it to spin up the motors successfully though. The app looks visually very similar to the one made by Holy Stone.
Hello from across the pond!! I have the HS120D and my first flight it took off and chased my wife and drilled her fin the back of the legs... ( I thought this was extremley funny...She didn't lol) After learning more this issue was because it lost GPS... Before you fly, check and make sure you have good GPS Signal before you launch it. GPS is what makes it hover in one spot. Once I've checked and made certain I have GPS before take off, i haven't had an issue since. As for HS customer service, they are awesome!! I've been thinking about upgrading to the 720E which is what brought me to your channel. Excellent videos and thanks for posting!
Hi Frank, thankyou for sharing your thoughts. Yes always wait till you have at least 10 GPS satellites. I did chuckle at the wife thing. Hope she OK though
Yeah, I just got the newer HS720G and on my first battery it flew perfect and I was able to get some pics and video. But the next time I flew my 2nd battery and after recalibrating for the new location a couple of blocks away, it took off and hovered at the 5 ft level. I let it settle there and checked the sats and it was showing 16- 19 satellites. It looked perfectly stable so I raised it up a few feet and perfectly stable so I was going to bring it back down and get the video started when at about 3-5 ft it took off to my right and went past me faster than I had ever seen it fly. Then it ricquched off something behind me as it was skipping off the pavement at about 3 ft and it was headed right back towards me. I hit RH to no avail and then tried to hold the power button down, but it was disconnected. I then started trying to run it down as it kept skidding off the pavement until it finally knocked the battery loose and stopped. Such a bummer. I put it back in the box and contacted Holy Stone to see if they feel it was a unresolved defect as I am now hearing more about these disconnects and the fail-safes not working. Awaiting there reply from my email. Man, I was so stoked to see it perform so well initially.
so sad to here that even their new version of the drone has similar issues. glad no on was hurt. I would personally send it back and just go DJI mini SE at the very least.
@@2CatMedia Well, speaking of Holy Stones excellent customer service, I sent them pics of the damage done to it, but my concern was trusing it. They were very understandable and sent me a new one also and said to keep the old one. Just a real good customer service experience which is rare now days. #HolyStone is #AWEsome !!!
Hi Steve, today I went to fly my drone away from home today, first time it went up,seemed pretty stable, pressed the RTH button and it started to return but instead òf hovering above and dropping it went round in circles (about 3m diameter) till it landed. Re calibrated, tried again except this time it went wild going round in circles and I couldn't control it, in the end I hit the lock button and killed it. Very concerned I could not control it. Any ideas why this happened or what I did wrong? KPI was 3, 17 satellites and kept wifi connection throughout.
David sometimes the user can do everything right, sometimes it is just the done. I would contact holy stone and explain. It should not do that. The could be interference nearby you not aware of. But it could just be the drone.
I saw in another video that if you use tripod mode( no idea where that is, I'm still waiting on my drone to arrive), the panning also becomes smoth. Check that out for cinematic shots. Good content btw.
Thankyou UN, yes tripod mode Is apparently the speed 1 setting. It is better and I do use it but it not as smooth as it could be. Thankyou for comment.
I recently purchased a 720e and was happy with it. Unfortunately, a few weeks after receiving it, the drone began drifting backwards and would fly in reverse in response to forward control and when landing. The inability to control the drone resulted in crashes. I’m waiting on Holystone to respond to my email.
I had the same issue the H720E I have worked perfectly fine for the 10 times I flew it but one day I turned it on to fly it and it went up and just started to go to the left and crashed but was physically fine. I wasn't unable to cut off the power with kill switch. If anyone has more information about this issues plz let me know
The issue you have described with the drone veering to the left is a problem I've had. I also had a crash after I tested the Return to Home feature; rather than heading towards the GPS signal and landing it started circulating my position at speed and collided with a tree. As with you though, Customer Service was ace and I'm having a new one sent. Seems to be a common issue but hopefully the new one will be fine.
Yes my man thanks for sharing, I have a 720e but I bought it off gadget stalls in Uk and the drone never flew stable I done all the calibration bla bla bla the end result was the drone went out of control and is GONE to his knows we’re 🤷they said they would replace it so I sent my controller and the other battery and everything else back and they said they would send me a new one but they sent me a second hand one all scratched and banged up and this drone is dangerous I’m afraid to fly it it will not stay stable at all I contacted them again but they never answered , never again will I buy a Holystone drone , the mjx bugs drones are way ahead of Holystone and gps rock solid stable !! Thanks for your videos my friend cheers from Ireland 🇮🇪
I have not had any issues with the drone crashing or doing anything wonky. However I have now had 2 of these drones and both had faulty SD slots. I did everything I could think of to get it to write to an SD card but to no avail. I unfortunately gave up after the 2nd drone and moved on to find another. I also have a SG906 Max that is pretty decent for a very similar price. It doesn't handle nearly as cleanly as the HS720E, but on the flip side, it feels a lot more powerful and the ZLL RC app works so much better than the Ophelia Go app. Unfortunately my experience with HS customer support was not nearly as great as I have heard many others have had. They were very slow to respond and at the end of the day all they asked me to do was return the product to Amazon and get a new one.
Hi josh, yes some people don't get that famous great customer service unfortunately. But with the SD card issue I wonder if the SD card would be because it was not a class 10? If it is my issue was similar a n d I had to format the card in exfat format on my pc or even in the phone (android) initially and then it worked.
I'm pretty happy with with SG906 Max thus far. It has a full 3 axis gimbel that leads to some pretty clean shots. The "tripod mode" of the 720E is a lot better than the slow mode of the SG906 Max though. Pros and cons... I wish I could say I didnt think of that but my card is a 32GB C10 U3 card. It's a real bummer to get 2 of these things that have failed, because like many others have said, it's a solid device for the most part.
Hi, mate! I have the same problem. Taking off with GPS turned off seems to help. Does it work with your drone? I'm trying to find the cause of this error.
just seen this vlog, had mine about a year but not flew it much. seemed okay at first, took it out last week and it just veers to left with no input then it goes forward off in the distance. it does return to home. but I do not seem to have control over it. then as you say a full battery died. when it landed it started up again and I could not turn props off by pressing the button. I did what you did turn it upside down and tried to power off and the props split my fingernail. I dare not take it out no more because to me it is not safe. the warranty will have lapsed now anyway. I tried headless mode just to see if that worked better and the drone just did what it wanted. haywire.
Got it anyway. Since the internet has no data and Holy Stone is blank on the matter, I can offer this. Batteries are self contained charger and power button. You only plug usb directly into the battery and then to a source. The blades are unique in that they are twist lock and very close to the motor housing. The weight has increased to 557grams. Features are identical to hs720e. Camera and mount are permanent but drop mounted with soft bushings for shock absorbtion. I haven't flown it yet, but it is rigid and robust with a very "equipment" feel. I have registered it and myself with FAA as hobby pilot. Because there is no internet information, there exist two issues. Can't find these unique twist locking blades as parts, and did not understand the battery charging nuance upon unpacking and turned right around and returned the perfectly good item thinking it lacked a charger. After some thoughtful reconsideration and watching other Holy Stone units unpack, I thought better and unpacked the first unit again to discover the battery had a mini usb port. Now I will return one of two good units. Hope this is enticing enough to investigate further. With ALL the hs720e and 700d vids, I thought my bases were covered. I cant get CS to respond at all and I need to learn what blades are compatible. Cheers, my good man.
@@2CatMedia AmBezos. Only place it exists. Even Holy Stone's website has a photo and link to Amazon, but not even IDENTIFIED. just a random wordless pic. So weird.
@@2CatMedia Update: Spoke to a rep. The unit is very new and even supplies and parts are not available yet. 3 more weeks. It IS the 720e but a different body and power system. It uses the 720e controller instead of the 700d whose body it most resembles. Power button HAS been added, but to the self charging batteries. So new, I was the first CS inquiry. Oh. Amateur problem. Prop wash. Couldn't land on smooth flooring. Also no option for prop guards. Killing the ends of blades that for now are irreplaceable.
My first 720e had a camera issue, but Holy Stone were going to replace it. On my 17th flight it decided to not RTH but went straight past me at high speed, l managed to get control again, but then it went off in the other direction, WiFi and controller signal's were both lost. I saw the 720 come down so had some idea where it was. The find my drone part of the app wouldn't work as it just make the app crash. Luckily l found the drone as l had put the light on. It was undamaged. Holy Stone told me to try a flight without the app working. Both calibrations done and 16 satellites before take off, went up 10m forward 6 and then fell out of the sky breaking off 3 arms. Decided that is enough and returned it to Amazon for a refund, told Holy Stone what had happened and the fact l was returning it. The still sent out a new drone and got my refund, new drone is spot on just a little worried as my next flight will be number 17. Customer service has been excellent
Hi Tim, yes this can be an issue. It's such a shame. Least you had a refund and free replacement so I would not worry too much. Worst case sinareo, you put refund towards a better drone
I finally gave up and got a DJI Mavic Mini. Found a reconditioned one on Amazon for $400.00 for the fly more kit. There is no comparison. Wish I had done this before spending the money on the 7204k that lasted less than 2 weeks!
Hello, and thanks for this video. My HS720 crashed a couple of days ago, and damaged a parked car! Full battery, calibration was done correctly, and windless flying conditions. After lifting off and taking it up to about 15 feet, I pressed the RTH button to test all was well. It was not. The drone rose quickly to perhaps 25 or 30 feet and started circling. I tried to regain control, but nothing worked, and the app indicated connection was lost. The circling was clockwise but not in a circle, more oval-shaped. It got wider and wider, crossing the field, and hit a tree in a private garden. Fell down onto a barn roof, and then bounced into a parked BMW. Like you, the emergency cutoff did not work, and the blades stung me. This was the second (but worst) incident. The first was a few days prior when the drone suddenly flew higher but on that occasion, hovered safely and the connection was re-established, and I used RTH immediately, and successfully. We have no nearby mobile phone towers or any other kind of radio interference I am aware of, as we are quite rural. I have requested a return from Amazon, but also wrote to Holy Stone about the problem. They have asked me to hold on the return, offering to organise a replacement. Their email also specifically admitted the app has issues and that their technicians were working flat out on a solution. I am not sure if I want the replacement (or even the upgraded 720e) because I am not confident the app and controller will malfunction again. I also have to pay for the small dents on my neighbour's' car. Thankfully he has been gracious about it all. Makes me wonder about insurance requirements, not just CAA certification! Do I just get my refund, and save for the extra to get something better? Right now, I am not too sure. I'd like to give Holy Stone the opportunity to make things right and get their app finally sorted, but I am nervous. Thanks for your videos, they have been really helpful to a drone newbie.
Hi Mark and Rose, Firstly I would consider the upgraded version if they offering you it from them. There are issues with the app but apart from that it is a decent drone. Go for the swap to the upgraded version and try it out a few times away from BMW's in a middle of a field. If it plays up them re contact amazon and get your refund and send it all back. Its worth the try. If you dont wish to chance it get your money back from amazon and save a little for the DJI mini 2 or even the mini 1 but the 2 is much better. Let me know what you decide. Where you from MARK?
My return home worked in the same way, the drone went counterclockwise and crashed into a tree, otherwise the drone flew in uncontrolled flight 2 meters from a passer-by.
I have had the same issue. I live in rural Central Pennsylvania on 28 acres. First flight was in my driveway and went without issue. One week later I went to a different location on my property, did the GPS and Giro Calibrations at that location, and experienced the same loss of control. The drone began to orbit over top of me about 50 feet in the air until running into a tree.
hello i have just bought the HS720E i was going to get the Mavic mini but after great reviews i gave this one a try i just hope nothing goes wrong will let you know how first flight goes ..
Hi Michael, I'm sure it will Be fine, things happen sometimes but the drone is a great drone for the price, just make sure you do both calibrations before each flight. Let me know how you get on.
Good information. I got the HS720 4K I tested it a couple of times. I tested the return to take off position and it flew straight at me. I haven’t flown it since. It cut my hand quite badly.
This sounds like a controller calibration issue. I had something similar happen to me but it was because I had failed to cycle both of the toggles down and to the left before lifting off. It was not responding to my directions from the controller from the start. Realizing something was very wrong, I hit "return to home" and upon landing started the entire calibration process again...this time making sure to calibrate the controller. I put it up in the air and have never had another issue since. HolyStone is fantastic though with customer service and that is huge!
Had an issue a few days ago when my hs720e all of a sudden just took off on it's own laterally and crashed into my home breaking the rear arm off. BTW just noticed that the ophelia go app was updated a few hours ago!
Were you using the Android or ios app version when this uncommanded lateral move occured? I have been using ios on an unused iphone 6se for the most part.
Similar thing for me too. I had my 720e for about 4 weeks. Completed about 12 flights of different length. And though by no means an expert pilot I was beginning to feel confident. On 26th January I took the drone out for a flight to film a local church from the air. The first flight was successful, went through the pre flight calibration process. No issues. I wanted to film the other end of the church but didn't want to loose sight of the drone so I moved location. The drone took off successfully got to about 15m up then started to veer to the left. It would not respond to the controller so I pressed RTH. It partially responded but didn't come all the way back. I somehow managed to regain control and land it. I then moved to a new location a few miles away. I recalibrated the drone and put in a fresh battery. Again the first flight was successful no issues. I decided to do one more flight. The drone behaved as expected. It was a short flight. Then on landing the drone veered off to its left and crashed. The crash broke the left rear arm. I contacted Holy Stone. They sent me new arm which I am about to attempt to fit.
Oh dear, its mostly always the left they tend to go towards. Holy stone should be trying to fix these known issues and not sending out arms to repair but a whole replacement as not everyone is going to be able to do it. Thankyou for sharing Charlie
@@2CatMedia ..... I had to buy a soldering kit and a magnifying glass. I think my repair is successful. It took a couple of hours. Turned it on in the house to check that everything works. It seems OK. It was not easy. It’s very small detailed work. Test flight tomorrow. Fingers crossed.
It’s interesting that you mention it going wildly off. This being my second drone, I’ve had more crashes with this drone than I had with my $79 drone. I’ll do some more flying with it and see if I can figure out what’s doing it. Whether that be operator error or an actual issue with the drone. Hopefully I can come up with a solution, and get it back in standard operation. It does seem to like to be upside down for some reason.
@@2CatMedia no luck yet, waiting for response from Holy Stone. Flew again the other day and no resolve, keeps wanting to turn in air, and sometimes it even loses control of forward and back joystick input. All being less than 10m away. It’s so wonky that I fear it might break something during a crash. A joke, but afraid to hit the RTH button for fear it might go back to China. 🤪
@@TheRoybert Do ypu know if the firmware can be upgraded? I haven't seen anything on it and mine needs something to keep it from going rogue on me with its own mind.
@@2CatMedia That was kind of what I was thinking, but I just bought mine less than a week ago and I am using Ophlia Fly's latest version since I just downloaded it two days ago. I sure hope they figure this out because this drone is awesome when it works right, but once it decided to go rogue, it can be scary when it is heading for your mid-section full speed. At least mine tried to run me down. I'd hate to have mine run somebody else down and get sued for something because their software OR hardware is defective in one aspect at least and hit someone else. Then you get sued.
Strange I've now had 2 crashes that have similarities to yours...I too was trying to get video of the sunrise, both times it went left into the same tree and didn't turn off even though it was upside-down and I was holding down the kill switch. The first time after I picked up the still running drone a propeller flew off and nearly hit me, I now check and tighten every screw I can see after every flight because after installing the new props I tried a short test flight and then found the new propellers loose. My last test flight after 2 crashes, it performed perfectly. I'm still trying to find out what happened but changing location of my flight far away from most interference the drone flew perfect.🙄
i had to use my old 2018 droid phone for the app to connect it works great but not my new LGV60 2020 phone the app wont work with certain phone the app is outdated for some 5G phone
Just returned mine, had it a week and only got 3 flights out of it, 1st being take off and landing, a little windy so I gave up, the next day it drifted towards the house so I made a grab for it (Rookie Mistake) finger tips now sore and bleeding, 3 rd attempt, it took off and hovered, I look down at the screen and hear the motors go into over drive to watch it go up to about 20ft and off it went at a rate of knots I didnt think was possible, over the field it went and finally crashed into a tree, 10ft before the window, I literally had no control, no matter what I pressed, recovered following day. reported to Holy Stone and got a reply asking a thousand questions that I duly answered, the response was could I fly it again and film it, erm excuse me it has already attempted to take out a tree/window, Im not flying it again until I know its safe, then more of the same questions, so I sent it back. they have offered a 20% discount if I get another but have said, let me know what was wrong with mine and Ill consider it, I think they wont bother testing it, so relationship with Holy Stone is somewhat fleeting
I’ve watched a million vids about beginners drones and this one almost always comes first .. I just bought one and I’m waiting delivery, what I need to buy is an extra charger/battery pack or whatever so I kind of bypass those 12 hrs charging stages 🙁
It seems this left turn thing is more of an issue than I first thought. Thankyou for sharing
Thanks for the heads-up Mic.
I had a similar experience. See my post from March 19.
Two crashes first time out due to left yawing or veering despite controller commands (I call it "mind of its own" condition).
The Aircraft has a major problem
It happened to me it’s not only a calibration situation
They pacified you by throwing you a bone
And your lucky you smashed into a house with out hurting someone
This will happen again
And if you hurt someone the liability will be BIG
And when a complaint is made with the FAA
Your going to have a major problem
The problem here is the connection between the controller and the aircraft
If they don’t solve this problem
Especially with me
It’s RIP holystone company
That’s way the FAA is going with Drone ID
This may be one of the reason’s
That we don’t know about
Don’t trust that drone
I’m sorry to say
I am going through it now and I didn’t hit anything
Hi, I have had the same issues with my hs720eis. I contacted Holystone and they were brilliant with their responses. They eventually have arranged for me to have a new drone sent out. Love your videos I've learned alot of good stuff from you keep up the good work
Thanks for the info!
As a beginner I crashed mine into the side of the house and no matter how long I held the kill switch in the motors refused to stop spinning the blades, ended up cutting me pretty good, however i still love my 720E. Thanks for you most informative videos! Tony from Bellingham, Washington.
Thankyou Anthony, yes it not great is it when that happens, almost like it loses connection with the transmitter.
Hi I have a HonyStone HS720 that is grate works well and I have a HS720E I got 3 days ago and it will NOT connected to the phone app ? can you help me
I am having terrible camera range. Sometimes losing image or freezing as close as 50 meters. I have sent a video done with screen record to holy stone but still no reply.
It does depend emon interference etc but you should be able to get past 50m
I still love it though -
Very good tech for the price.
Hi Pat, and thankyou so much for sharing your wows and also your delights :)
Yes calibration could have been an issue but from people i have spoken too many haver had same problem.
FWIW: Charge time from a battery that is nearly flat (it was well into stage 1 LVC) was timed at 4:23 (for one battery) and 4:28 for a second one.
A third charge cycle (from well into stage 1 LVC) was measured at 4:14.
You dont calibrate any drone near metal 😅🤣
I know x I guess we all make mistakes lol
Try Bondic or something similar as I have no affiliation instead of glue. I've gotten much better, and quicker results.
I can`t seem to fly mine further than 300m or higher than 30m even though I take it out of beginner mode and set the parameters to the max settings. Any others experience this?
Hi nature, those limits tend to be in force when the battery is on 2 bars of battery.
Yes I have the same problem but I'm not sure if I'm in beginners mode or not. I thought Mode 2, is out of beginner's mode
Good luck and let me know.

Like max overload spinning only way to stop it is to power off w button on drone :( dangerous luckily I was holding in my hand testing quick instead of normal launch! would of been lost since controller stops responding and seems like motor is spinning beyond its normal range. any ideas whatsoever!? 3 diff battery's all same
Sounds like it has a software issue maybe. Ring holystone
hi could you please help ? when using a mobile phone with the HS720e does the phone need to be connected to a network (have a sim card installed }?or can i use my spear phone ?
Hi Alan, you don't need a sim card and the network you would need to connect to, to see the video images as you fly would be the Holystone network which you should see in your WiFi list once you have turned on your drone.
@@2CatMedia Thank You For Your Help
Quick question. I noticed the my drone looses control when I connect my phone to it. It that the case for you all as well when you loose control?
If it goes wrong it generally the app that causes it but not always
@@2CatMedia got the new 720g, with GPS on it looses control and crash like the 710. so I have bin running mine with it off.
Same issue with my HS720e flight. Auto takeoff was fine until I moved the right stick forward. It turned left and would not respond to any inputs. Hit a building and broke a leg. Will be contacting HS today.
So sorry to hear that. Hopefully they will sort it the problem
Least it good news regarding a replacement. I woukd maybe try the MRC PRO APP. It seems more stable
Can anybody please confirm the wind resistance of the HS720E?
Oh dear Darren. The hs720's don't seem to be doing great. Sorry to hear about the crash.
There will always be a massive difference between the two. If you can return it then do so. I would rather spend that bit extra and get the dji mini 2
I ended up getting dji mavic air 2s. Dji does not have any of those problems!! Just cost too much
I press return home on mine and the drone returned started decending and 4ft from the ground it totally head dived into the ground, I replaced all the blades but now the drone tries to flip forward as if the front motors are not balanced with the rear motors im gutted
I would contact holystone and explain what happened. If you cot any footage then send or show that too.
My Samsung a10 connects automatically if you have you it in auto wirefie then it will work
App keeps crashing...today was my first time flying my HS720e i hit the return home button and it came back and passed over where it was supposed to hover and return to the home point but didn't descend; it kept zooming back and forth till it crashed somewhere...now it is lost...it did about 4 successful RTHs but this last one the drone like it had a mind of its own
So sorry to hear that verd.... Get in contact with holy stone and explain what happened. Explain that this is not an isolated issue. Hopefully they will send you a replacement
OK will do
I think that your wifi issue maybe on the Phone.. I used the old Xperia Z3.. Losses signal due to distance limit but it automatically reconnect...
First flight was OK. When I replaced battery the drone went up went right at speed and had to cut motor. Will be sending it back. May look at higher end drones since getting my drone certificate.
How come i cant turn my drone left or right when its far away?
I'm not sure I can with mine but I mostly go straight lines as distance is so poor at times
You must set the parameters in the app take it out of B beginner's mode which is also called the safety mode that should help you
Same issue with my drone out of control and to the left
2 times
Any new information on the cause ?
Nothing solid. Could be gps or gyro calibration related
@@2CatMedia thank you
Yes I have WiFi problem , it’s lost the signal . If u have any sloution please update me . Thanks
Does it connect at all?
Yes
Sorry, if you need some help you need to give me details. I cannot help if you just say that you just lost the signal. I need to know how you lose the signal such as a certain distance etc.
@@2CatMedia it’s dose , but only few matter even in very open space it’s disconnected. It can fly , but not able to see on application, it’s shows not conactd.
So you can connect to your mobile device but it disconnects within a short distance. I woukd check your controller antenna position first.
Thankyou for question, I am going to be making and hopefully uploading a video tomorrow specifically regarding this.
But you are correct in what you say. I have spoken to Holystone about this and they confirmed this. Watch upcoming video for more info.
I don't blame you strawhat. Thankyou for sharing your story. Hope you subscribe and see other upcoming videos of different drones etc
Yo
Question
I have a hs720 drone for about a year
I flew about a dozen and a half times
The last time I flew it the response was not sharp from the controller to the aircraft it seemed like it was going to fly away it didn’t want to respond to quickly
I contacted holystone for a new controller.
They sent it to me twice and was not able to connect the controller to the drone.
So I am going back and forth with them
First am I turning it on right then is the battery charged then send me a video then send me a video on how I turn it on.
So I explained to them this many be a chip problem.
Were you having same problem
Thanks
Not with the controller but mostly app based. Is the app updated and have you paired the controller to the aircraft.
I can pair with the old controller with no problem
It can also fly the camera is good
The only problem is that the control to the aircraft is not responding correctly
And is the app up to date, or if you try flying without the app (line of sight) does that make any difference. Also are the propellers all in good order as a dodgy propeller can make it fly off a bit
App is update, propellers are good I never crashed it I even tightened the propellers
I don’t know
So that’s why I asked for a new controller
So what they sent me are controller that does not pair
I am not trying to get over on them
I have other drones
Autels that I spent more money on and better drone
I perched this holystone at the time to practice with
Thanks
All you can do is try I guess, hopefully you can sort it soon.
Just got mine today, flew it out pretty far, lost fpv... brought her back some and it reconnected automatically. iPhone 7
Thankyou for that. So yours reconnected automatically. Hmmm
I feel you did the right thing. The drone does seem to have issues with some people as regards veering off to one side. Not a great thing.
Thats only good if you want to
see what your neighbors are doing.
Using older cell phones isn't recommended as far as I'm concerned but who wants to spend additional money for a good cell phone
that's only used to fly your toy? I want something that will fly 2 miles out with clear video and solid FPV so I'm now doing the research on long distance FPV so I can build my
own long range copter . I kind of expected someone would have hacked this drone to make it better or at least have modded it for the better but haven't come across anything
worth while other than replacing controller antenna. Waiting for someone to show me how to connect a home WiFi router to get better distance? Anyways, that's my 2 cents.
Thank you for sharing your experience and opinion.
Get yourself a dji mavic mini 2 combo, I promise you won't have any problems only fun!!! Thanks 4 your honesty 🤔🇬🇧👍
Hi Wayne, yes I did both of them as they are in the app.
My cons to date:
1) Lack of camera sharpness adjustment in the app.
Thankyou for sharing your experience. Much appreciated
Just make sure you fully calibrate it first. Id contact customer service
Lost my HS 720e it lost control and flew straight into a lake 30 yard from me no control from the transmitter, sharp left no control.
Sorry to hear that, maybe contact Holystone and explain?
Morning. How are things. What is the best way to calibrate the compass. With the control or doing it with the app
Fantastic bless, hope it goes well. Try to use the M RC PRO app due to new app crashing etc.
How do you take it out of beginner's mode?
In the app (opheila go) press the settings button in the top right corner. It is a picture of a cog.
Then there under the first tab called satey is a lust of parameters you can chose. The second item down is beginners mode and is a switch. If it is blue and pushed to the right then it is in beginners mode. I'd it is dark and to the left then it's not.
Hi. Just bought the 720 and I like it. Do you know if Holy Stone puts out software updates for it ? Thanks
The do app updates but not firmware
@@2CatMedia thanks
Not isolated at all. 4th flight of my HS720, was flying for about 5 minutes and all of the sudden it veered to the left and down and crashed into the "tall grass". 2 arms were broken. It's like it had a mind of its own and just decided that's what it wanted to do. I had NO controll of it whatsoever.
I do believe it is a problem that Holy Stone needs to address. I'm wondering if they will fix my drone or replace it but I highly doubt it. As of yet I have not contacted them to find out.
Dory to hear that bat man. Hopefully they will
I just has Holy stone offer a replacement for my 700e for my 2 year old one that no longers lets my phone connect to it's wifi.
Ps can you find out if it’s water Proof as it bin up there for 2weeks in all weathers 🌦❄️💦🌧💨⛈🌓 🥶☹️
I’ve just emailed Holy stone so we will see what customer service is like 🙄
I just like to say that customer service was fantastic 100% other company should take a Leaf out of their book 🤗🤗🤗🤗
@@2CatMedia just like to say thank you for telling me get in touch with holy stone they was fantastic 100% replacement in 3 day 😃
I just got my HS700E and 720E. I'll pay attention to the issues you mentioned and post information.
That would be great Ed ty
Had the exact problem the other day when I crashed filming the Sugarmill Ruins. I crashed into a tree and I couldn't get the kill to shut down the motors.
It is most definitely a wider problem. Thankyou for sharing
Hi pops, is it the GPS or the signal from the transmitter?
@@2CatMedia it is the gps signal and the controller will beep loudly when it happens. I believe wifi is still ok as I still have video from the drone.
Normally the transmitter will beep if the signal drops you can check the level on the display. But even if you lost WiFi connection the drone will still record to the cd card.
@@2CatMedia what should i do? Should i return it?
Maybe if it not working as it should
I've just purchased a HS 105E Drone everything seems to be fine apart from it's not connecting to the GPS...is there something wrong with my drone ??
They have now come back and said they will replace the arm (a one time gesture)
To me the crash had to be either a motor failure or fatigue in the arm.
2 questions for you and your subscribers;
Any ideas on what may have happened?
Should I be happy with a replacement part and no response on why it would have happened?
Thanks
Tony
Hi Tony, I think their lack of response is due to fact they don't know. I presume the drone flipped because of a motor or propeller issue. I can't see arm braking out of no where apart from it broken after the in pending crash.
I would k like some information regarding flight in wind.
Ok and what info is that?
So sorry to hear that nick. I would send it back to supplier a d get a replacement stating it has an error. Or contact holy stone themselves.
@@2CatMedia Watching your videos actually convinced me to send them an email and make my case. I was doubting myself, thinking it was partially user error. But the more I thought about it and watched videos (including yours and the many comments), the more I realized that it was likely more the drone or controller. Thanks again for sharing.
Your welcome. Let me know how you get on. If you have no joy just send it back and get a different drone.
@@nicorellius well i must say that i was just about to order one until i read all of these, thank you all i refuse now until holystone proves to me that this problem is solved
Hey 2cat. Is there a manual for the ophhilago?
No not a manual as it is an app. But I have done a video about using the app.
Is Holystone 720e a better drone?
Any advice
Coz if good i will buy one thanks
Sorry, a better drone than which other drone?
Good look and yes would love to see it. Can't you send it back to supplier?
@@2CatMedia I can't send it back because they are saying that they don't take exchanges as of now. They only provide assistance through drone accessories :( how can I send the images to you ?

Hi I bought a second hand hs700e I first used it flew nice than one morning I flew it it was unable its like when I used the joysticks did not respond that well so I have a hs720g I paired the controller with the drone flew it everything was good flew normal so I've just bought a new controller I did try to fly hs700e with the hs720g controller and out of control crashed so at lease hs720g controller will fly the hs700e thank you
What do you need to do to reconnect after you’ve lost signal?
If I lose signal I ha e to go to WiFi settings and reconnect if possible
I have a HS 720 4k, longest distance 1653t,
No left turn problems.
Hi Johnathon ,
The MRC pro app is designed by same person.its how the older Ophelia go app used to look. It appears to be a bit more stable.
@@2CatMedia was curious about that.
Lol

Thank you, have e mailed them.
Hi Jenn,
Hopefully they should reply soon. Otherwise just return it , if you able too.
I had the same issue the H720E I have worked perfectly fine for the 10 times I flew it but one day I turned it on to fly it and it went up and just started to go to the left and crashed but was physically fine. I wasn't unable to cut off the power with kill switch. If anyone has more information about this issues plz let me know
Thankyou for sharing
I have the same issue as you have stated I have crashed 2 times
Sorry to hear that
The issue you have described with the drone veering to the left is a problem I've had.
I see the same thing with the violent veering to the side right after take off. Did the new unit also have the problem?
Hi Chris, so far it has not done that

I tried headless mode just to see if that worked better and the drone just did what it wanted. haywire.
Yes Dennis it is a crazy drone unfortunatly. They seem to have messed up on that one
This was very informative. I do not want the folding legs. Do you think a comparable unit is the hs700e?
It has static arms.
In truth I've heard about that one but not seen it yet.
@@TheRoybert thankyou for sharing, can you say where you got it from? I'm still to see a photo of it. Weird HS have no info on it??
@@2CatMedia AmBezos. Only place it exists. Even Holy Stone's website has a photo and link to Amazon, but not even IDENTIFIED. just a random wordless pic.
So weird.
@@2CatMedia Update:
Spoke to a rep.

Nice one rich, it's a learning curve unfortunately
I wanna get it should I get it or skip
That's only a choice you can make, either way..... Welcome
If you can afford more then probably go dji for the quality aspect.
@@2CatMedia We live in south Oxfordshire. Perhaps a future video could look at the insurance or liability aspects of drone flying?
Yes most certainly Mark. You can buy drone insurance. But yes it somthing to think about for future ideas.
Oh dear Gordon, sorry to hear that I think there been a few cut hands or fingers. Can you not send it back?
@@2CatMedia have had an online chat with them. I will give it another try when the weather is suitable.
Maybe you were standing on the original takeoff point.
Thankyou John for your comment. Will look at calibrating the controller. How do you do that?
I am a novice to drones. Is the camera normally does not zoom on drones in general?
In cheaper drones they may not. In the expensive ones they may a little. But some just zoom in on the app rather than the camera itself
@@BreeUSA android app used
Oh dear, I would contact Holystone and complain. I will look at new app update, thankyou for update
Also I having problems with app just resetting to intro screen after first use within a few seconds
I also had the issue with my drone going bonkers and it decided to throw itself into some trees, and the killswitch wouldn't work at all
Similar thing for me too.
Wow well done to you. I didn't think about soldering etc. It's another expense they don't think of.
yes i agree there is some slow respond from the transmitter i crash my just went to left and crash kind scare to fly it high now
Ridge, watch my video on the alternative app. It seems to be working great
It’s interesting that you mention it going wildly off.
Let me know what you find out. But, make sure you doing both calibrations before first take off.
Ha ha very good, have you saw my video about the latest update? Also the video on the alternative app that seems to iron out must the problems
Hi Sir I just bought mine as well. Thank you for this information it will be very helpful for us beginners
You are welcome Jireh, hope you are now part of the 2Cat Media community?
I had the EXACT same experience you did, only mine went rogue and flew away. Same as you, customer service was awesome.
Glad to hear you had a great experience at least with customer services.
Did this occur very recently? That is to say, have they not corrected the firmware?
@@TheRoybert they don't update the firmware as far as I'm aware they just update the app only. Most the issues seem to be app based.
Glad it flying OK now. Some drones like this are just so sensitive to certain interference where as others are not
Hey did you ever find out why the battery failed?
Not exactly but I have read comments about others failing too on rare occasion. Is it battery? Is it app? Is it the drone? I just don't know.
@@2CatMedia Oh man. Well thanks for the factors to consider and if I hear anything I will post it of course.
Thanks. Fred
i had to use my old 2018 droid phone for the app to connect it works great but not my new LGV60 2020 phone the app wont work with certain phone the app is outdated for some 5G phone
Try the alternative app M RC PRO. I have a video out on this.
Hi Simon , I think you best off staying away and purchasing a more reliable brand
Had the same problem took a hard time could not turn off but did not crash
Thankfully
I’ve watched a million vids about beginners drones and this one almost always comes first .. I just bought one and I’m waiting delivery, what I need to buy is an extra charger/battery pack or whatever so I kind of bypass those 12 hrs charging stages 🙁
Thankyou JC much appreciated. Good luck with your new drone.
