    Our Story:
    We are four years into a seven year effort of transforming 20 acres of "Piney
    Grove" in Northwest Florida into our dream homestead/mini farm to be filled
    with animals and joy. We plan to have a variety of miniature critters on our
    pastures, raise free-range chickens, grow fish in our pond, garden
    organically, plant fruit and nut trees, and harvest wild game. Our goal is
    to escape the stresses of corporate life and embrace all that country living
    has to offer as we enter the next chapter of our lives. Follow along on our
    journey!

    We got one of those T post drivers a couple of years ago for fencing and cross fencing our 40 acres here at Pemberley Farm, it’s a lifesaver.

    Looks great! Nice tool too. I didn't have many post to put in on our 5 1/2 acres but the few I did put in I used a 3 lb. sledge hammer and felt it afterwards!

      We've done our share with a sledge....the powered driver is definitely an upgrade!

    I tried the bucket method this last weekend with my bx23s. It just a little too light to drive it in like your L3901! That did awsome!
    Nice vid! Thank you for posting!

      Thank you....we love how that side of the property "feels" now. The grass on our trail is growing better with more light and you can see the horses better. And you can't contain Bella....she comes over a lot still!

    What a deal! That is one handy tool! My son and I had to take turns driving ours T posts. This would have been nice!

      When I was 20, maybe hand driving posts seemed like fun. 🤣😂 but now, we're about letting machines work as much as we can!! Try the tractor bucket method....just make sure the pipe you buy will fit over the T-post!!

    We looked at fencing in our 6 acre property, and was quoted at $30 Thousand Canadian Dollars.. so I'm looking for easier ways of doing it myself. Thanks for sharing.

      What was the cost per foot? That's how they price it around here. We have a playlist on how we built this fence. Thanks for stopping by Ross. Brad&Deb

      We are doing 6.7 acres ourselves. The “public facing” side of the fence will be 6x6 treated wood posted with galvanized welded wire field fence and 4 horizontal slats (Kentucky horse fence style). The 800’ across the back of the property will be one 6x6 post every 30’ with steel posts in between plus heavier duty livestock fence. Including 4 gates we’ll be paying about $8K $9K including stain etc. We couldn’t even get fencing contractors to provide a quote. A local realtor feels the project would add about $20K-$25K in value to our home and land.

      @@chrism5859ultimately it’s up to an appraisal and not a realtor as I’m sure you’re aware. Either way it’s a good excuse to justify the cost if animals don’t justify the necessity yet. I’d personally go with a classic field fence using 5” or 6” wooden posts every 40’ to 50’ with t-post set at 10’ apart. Try to keep the fence under tension by whatever means you’ve got and you’ll have a lasting fence.

    Brad not trying to tell you how to do it but if you will take smaller bites, don’t put so much high tilt on the post puller handle it will be much easier to Jack the post out, especially when starting. I have one exactly like it and use it a lot. Thanks for all your good videos, the fence is looking good. Take care.

    My fence guy said he doesn’t use FEL anymore because the cheap steel now days can snap and put everyone at risk. The hammer looks like a great solution.

    • @PineyGroveHomestead
      @PineyGroveHomestead  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Does he use the pipe over the post? That's key to keeping the post from bending (and breaking). Thanks for watching.

    What size pipe??

    • @PineyGroveHomestead
      @PineyGroveHomestead  ปีที่แล้ว

      Take the T-post to where you get your metal. Because older T-posts are wider than new ones and won't fit in the same size pipe!

    I imagine you're new to this but I thought I would offer my opinion no offense Considering I am a Rancher myself number one you string your line then you put the post in before you string your fence. Number two you don't need that fancy clip thing all you need is a screwdriver. And why do you want the t post driver where you have to lift a piece of Machinery up on top of it anyway. Be a lot easier just to push it down with the bucket and if you're in soft soil you don't even need the piece of pipe over the t post just make sure the operator knows what he's doing. There are also ways to make a post hole driver on TH-cam video that won't even cost 50 bucks that is perfectly safe and a whole lot better than what you're doing. But remember fence post then the fence. Good luck

    You really can't have property without having the equipment to maintain it! Never could convince my father of that
    after years and years of renting, he's never seen the sense of owning. Being under that bucket is a bad Idea, the Safety man would write up everyone involved in that. Please don't continue that! Remember that Haste makes Waste.

      Agreed that owning land and a tractor go together...we use ours just about everyday!
