    I was a teenager in the 80's and bands like Whitesnake are the sound track of my youth. My first car was a 76 Camaro and I worked my ass off to buy the highest end Alpine stereo available. It was a glorious thing to behold. 6 Alpine woofers, 4 midrange and 4 tweeters with the Bazooka bass amp under the back seat with the 100w amp/graphic EQ under the CD/tape deck. And emanating from that system was Whitesnake, Ozzy, Crue, WASP, Dokken, Priest, Maiden and all the other bands that made the 80's so good. My God, take me back to those days! Cruising the strip on Friday nights, going out to the quarry to smoke weed, drink beer, make out with your girl, party with the boys...magic on earth.

      @jfo3000 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I had a great stereo in a '67 Cutlass with just two Jensen Coaxial speakers. But those speakers mounted in holes in the rear deck...used the entire massive trunk as a cabinet. Incredible!

      @@troymiller885 Yes they were. I was at the license branch the day after my 16th b-day. I would have done it on my b-day but that was a Sunday. I had to MAKE my boys go thru drivers ed and they never got their license until they were 20 and 22. They have no desire to drive. It is a different time now. Back in our day, cars and metal were it. Now? iPhones and Ubers.

    First three Vandenberg solo albums his playing is just off the charts. His euro influences, staccato style, bursts of speed was incredible. Find the albums or watch old videos with the band. You may not dig the songs but his soloing is worth the listen. I never really thought he fit in Whitesnake but I was glad Adrian got the fame from it. His playing today is clearly different due to the injury.

    An absolute legend, and a HUGE influence on me as a guitar player. I've been a lifelong fan since the 80's when I was a child. Still have my original Vandenberg vinyl records. Looking forward to the re release of his signature model. I owned an original in the 90's which I unfortunately sold several years later. They really are amazing guitars, and I'm loving that red and black "batman". Best of luck with the tour Adrian and whatever the future holds. You've definitely been missed here in the USA.

    I saw Adrian play with White Snake on that 1990 Tour! He was one of my favorite guitarists and the reason that I bought a White Peavy Electric when I was in high school. Of course mine was a cheap Peavy Nitro and I was a horrible guitarist, but in my head I was playing on Adrian's guitar! Actually I had no idea that he played Gibson Les Paul. I only remember him playing the Peavy.

    My favorite guitarist and the reason I got into guitars is John Sykes who wrote the 1987 Whitesnake album with David. So in 1990 I was so excited to see Sykes but half the band was fired by Coverdale. We didn't know, there was no social media, TH-cam, etc. John Sykes was fired, Adrian Vandenberg remained and Sykes replacement was Steve Vai. Most will say Vai is a better guitarist but for me Sykes is the better songwriter. Still the Night is a masterpiece and Is This Love is the greatest ballad from all the hair metal bands of this era. Glad to see Vandenberg is back, it's full circle. He was fantastic during the 1990 I got to see along with Vai.

    • @SurfGreenTelecaster
      @SurfGreenTelecaster 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@jfo3000 Don't get me wrong - Sykes is the all time greatest combination of hard rock guitarist, singer, and songwriter. But I think John B is just being fair to Adrian here to not risk derailing the interview with the Sykes/Coverdale saga. He was only highlighting his most famous moment in the band.

    Makes me appreciate my Heritage 80 Standard (1981) that I found used in Philly mid 80's. The shop actually had 2, this one had a Dimarzio in the bridge and was cheaper. Now I wish I had bought both. So, I replaced both with Duncan 59's right away, and so that's the way it is today. The lone Tim Shaw wound up in another guitar. Speaking of Tim Shaw, I also found an '81 blonde dot neck in Philly that I have kept. It's totally stock. The Duncan's in the LP and the Tim Shaw's in the 335 sound very similar to me.

    Wow🎸Great guitarist & comedian😁I put a set of Burstbucker Pros on my 2004 Epiphone LP They're Awesome pickups. ErnieBall has been making Strings for so long. They make their own strings & actually make strings for other Brands as well✌🏼😎☯️

    Listen to his rig that there no Buzzing ground noise, If you notice the wire coming from the pick up ring going to the bridge post grounding it . I do all my Les Pauls like that, it makes a big difference.

    All these years I never knew he was really playing that bow part on that song. I thought it was a synthesizer, and he was just doing that live as part of the show.

    When I was a drummer I would always wear ear protection. As a singer I have a bit more trouble with ear plugs. Hearing protection is a must for longevity. I have hand troubles because of my neck from an accident too. It took forever for my doctors and I to figure it out.

    I would have repaired the ground on the original Shaw pickup and put it back in.
    That nerve damage stuff is a bitch, as I've dealt with it. Everything is connected.
    Adrian looks pretty good and seems to be having fun, so good for him.
    Nice interview 👍
