- In this video I will show you how to calculate NPV in Excel.
The NPV, or Net Present Value, is the present value, or actual value, of a future flow of funds. The present value of a future cash flow is the current worth of it. To know the current value, you must use a discount rate. The NPV includes not only the positive cash flows, or inflows, but also all expenditures, including the initial investment.

Yes this video saved my life today. I took my time and followed the instructions and actually understand the formula so much better. AWESOME TUTORIAL.
Sure you are creating value and sustanabilty.
Great example, but your discount rate is 9.5%. If you use 10%, the NPV is 45,782.68.
Good spot.
I agree at 10% the NPV is $45,782.68
Thank you. I couldn't figure out why I was getting a different answer!

Discount Rate is 9.5% for anyone who is getting a different answer.

Yes I understand the net present value calculation come from th epast but accoring to decision making theory how can a perosn take an outgoing point in the past, whitout taking in consideration the optimale condintions for the decisions reason, and how the comany can not be affected by the others factors, which have nothing to do with sustainbility goals and laws? How come past bullshiting at affect present sustaiblity of a company and what is the future for the coming bullshiting on sustainable goals targets and how affected is the parteners ship .
what about the period it should multiply by it self
Why do the period come ?
how to do it with different CF
GReat simple explanation thanks
you are awesome! life saver
my NPV value is not showing it only shows -
What does it mean when I do all the steps and then all I get is ######## as the answer ?
it usually means the cell (box) that your answer is in isn't wide enough to display the result. Just make it a bit bigger.
