Thanks David for more great tips on selling. I was intrigued by those small paintings on the wall behind you - they look to me like abstract landscapes. I also love the colour combinations. So, my suggestion is..could you please do a video on making smaller paintings generally? Or maybe with emphasis on paintings similar to those in this video?

Amre, you’re welcome. For me, there isn’t anything different or special about doing a small painting so a video on that wouldn’t be very helpful. Those paintings are abstract coastal landscapes using an analogous color combination. I have painting videos using similar color combos. Thanks for watching.

David, I saw your video about selling framed prints. But if you sell small original paintings, and frame them, do you put them behind glass? Or not? Thanks for your videos!

Like ones done on paper I mean.

Coty Schwabe I hav never done a video about framed prints. I don’t make prints and never will. With regard to framing, I did a video a couple of years ago on framing small paintings, but that was then. I don’t frame anything anymore. If I have pieces on paper, I mount them to cradled wood panels.

David M. Kessler Fine Art It May have been originals, my mistake if it was. Can I ask why you got away from framing? Was it cost or time or simply preference? You don’t have answer if you don’t want to. Thanks again.

Coty Schwabe the cost and the glass are the two main reasons - also the mattes. It’s time for me to try something different.

David, if you could possibly do a video on color selection. Colors that "sell". 🎨

Uri Deamabal there are no colors that sell! There are absolutely no commonalities in paintings that sell. I have done MANY videos on how I select colors for my paintings.

@@davidm.kesslerfineart1717 Thanks! I have to check out some of your other videos. What I meant to say is are there any colors that hinder sales, in your opinion. ✌

Uri Deamabal people buy paintings in all colors. When you try to paint “colors that sell” or “subjects that sell” you are no longer making art.

@@davidm.kesslerfineart1717 Maybe a "What is Art" in your view/opinion video then? A Jack White basic principle is your art must "connect" subject and colors obviously a huge factor, i'm sure you agree maybe??? Jack's definition of Art: "Art is what you make yourself and are pleased you made it" :) And i just now ordered a Jason Horejs book a different title from your recommendation but thanks for the tip i wasn't aware he has written books i do know him from his youtube

Peter Chorao that’s too broad a topic - and I don’t want to go down that rabbit hole. Thanks for the suggestion though.
