I had to stop flying years ago because I started to have seizures during my CFI training. To be a professional pilot was my dream career, and it took years to get over the sadness. They say things happen for a reason, and blessings are disguised in many ways. I still enjoy aviation through flying RC model aircraft, and now you have inspired my old butt to give flight sims a try. Thank you so much. I do not know if you plan to become a full-scale pilot. If so, please, keep at it, stay healthy, and never give up.
Im sorry to hear you had to stop flying. Flight sims i think are the next best thing. I really hope you end up enjoying this hobby. Wish you all the best and thanks for the words of encouragement.
WOW. keep doing this man. I also stop flying when in my teenage years since I was getting sick. Always a dream, I've had Flight Sim before but nothing like you've done, here. I'm so excited that I will try to duplicate your setup. Amazing Job.

Dude I'm seriously impressed. From the cockpit your setup looks like a real plane and I think "I can never make that". But then you go round the back and it's just bits of wood and a jungle of wires that looks EXACTLY like something I would make lol. Thanks for sharing this.
Like D Long, I had to stop flying about 35 years ago when I had a seizure. The day before my first cross country, no less! I have just retired at age 70 and I am now hoping to take up Sim flying. It is people like you who have worked so hard to create beautiful simulators wth the flexibility to fly as single Cessnas and twins who are my inspiration. Your videos showing the "hows" are very helpful and I am now collecting the components and materials to get started. Please keep your videos coming. Congratulations!
I am really glad to see people like you invest in these kinds of setups and showing how much you really care for aviation. You will feel proud over yourself when Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 comes out, and you first see how much work you did that paid out. Keep doing what you love
I’m not entirely sure why but you are the most inspirational simmer on TH-cam. A true DIYer who would rather create then buy. Buying only what is needed to make a great simulator without going crazy and breaking the bank. That’s exactly what I like to do. I just spent a month rebuilding mine. It’s the third version and the fourth will be next winter. This one I used two cheap 15” touch screens and a Knobster sold by sim innovations for the G1000 setup ala RUSS Barlow. Takes a little tinkering but well worth it. Works amazingly well. Always something to look forward to and always rewarding. You have great skills both with the sim and in your shop. Great stuff!!!
Thats really some great words of encouragement. I appreciate it Captain! I've heard great things about the knobster so ill be adding one to my panel as well. Wish you the best on your fourth build. Cheers
Excellent ideas and execution. I'm really impressed with the knockdown panel conversion into a desk. I also think your throttle slide-out tray is ingenious! Thanks for the additional inspiration!
Dude...now THIS is a setup. Very impressive that you built it all yourself and pieced it altogether. I really like the new cable management and how modular the system is. Being able to switch between different cockpits for various aircraft is amazing and I can see it being super useful. I'm just getting into real flight sim-ing and VATSIM myself so its really awesome to see a fully realized setup like this. Keep up the great work man!
I am a real world Cessna 182P pilot and your videos have guided me in purchasing upgraded equipment to enhance my system. I have been flying A2A Cessna 182 with six pack. Still need to come up with a way to have carb heat and cowl flaps control. Good job on build.
I absolutely LOVE what you have done with the rebuild Josh! The multipurpose aspect is fantastic. Keep it up and thanks for keeping us in the loop. Happy flying!
love seeing your build. I have a suggestion on the cessna switch panel to help with an easy transition without unscrewing it each time. You could make with some hardware store parts or 3d print 2 latches on the top that can swivel, tighten in place, to hold the panel against the cockpit. Then when you want to swap it out for a Baron panel just simply unlatch, slide out and re-latch the baron one.
What an awesome setup you have going on, good on you! This is just awesome to watch, I feel like I'm in the room right next to the sim. Call of Duty at the end too, love Modern Warfare!
Been watching some of your other videos today and I still cannot get over the feeling of immersion when you are flying - Good luck with the upgrade. Cheers Jim
Great build... have you ever thought about putting you simulator in a van or an RV and taking it on the road for a show and tell show??? You could take it to a mall and let people see what you've built up close and do some demo flights!!! Oshkosh would have been great but I heard it was cancelled this year!!! ( Corona V).. Not the beer:)...Anyway ...Cya later ...🐦🐦🐦... .. ...
hey man - here's an idea for the "cessna to beechcraft" problem you have on the panel. instead of making the black panel circles out of a panel of wood, which you would have to replace by going into the back of the panel ..... - make that a clear acrylic solid sheet. then on top of the acrylic you can velcro on templates made out of ABS2000 black plastic sheets. the velcro can glue on where both panels have black.....it's not going to be as clean as changing it out but it will be much easier. you can have several templates made out - for as many planes as you want and cutting those sheets can be done at home easily. Another thing - instead of removing the switch panel every time - you can put both panels one right on top of the other and fabricate a type of cover that hides the one you aren't using..
Jo Ubi Those are actually some great ideas, i would much prefer not to remove the monitor each time. Ill definitely look into implementing something like that. Appreciate the comment! ✈️
Hey, thanks for putting up all these videos! This is inspiring my brother and I to build something verrry similar for our father, who is an avid aviation enthusiast. Hopefully we can get it done in time for MSFS2020! Thanks again, keep it up, love the tours and everything :) Also like that you can do more than just flight sim :)
Awesome set up! I am confused on how you have a computer set up to run the main program and a second to run your gages. How do the two computers communicate with each other???
Great video!!! :) Check out the Honeycomb throttle quadrant. Should be available in Q3 2020. That might be what you're looking for in terms of the abilities you want. Looking forward for some more of your videos. Thanks for sharing.
congrats man looks good. i want to do the same things but i want to make the top panel and center panel where the trim wheel and feul selector is, all out of one sheet of wood. im doing this becasue im training to get my PPL and you motivated me to make one like this when i saw it. thank you .
@@HomeSimPilot yah its not going to be ass good as yours but its going to be meant for pure training, but i just found out the airplanes i have around here for rent and training all have glass lol so im going ot have to upgrad to the G1000 for my sim.
Very nice for sure. How many computers are you using for the wraparound and how are they hooked up please? I have 3 50 inch. Each running one Screen but I would like to cur back.
Love watching your sim builds. I wish I would have discovered your videos before wasting money on a "certified" sim that now is useless because the company went out of business. ryanKFC Nice. Good luck with your build! Ive adjusted the FOV on the monitor to match how close I am sitting to it and I have the same amount of room as I would in the real airplane
Awesome setup. Thanks for sharing! I'm planning on seeing up my own in the next few months and I'll definitely be using done of your ideas. Are you running the engine sounds through the TV's or external speakers?
Great Video!! I follow you on all of your Sim's Flight's.. great Job. I do have a question on the size of the dash board, what dimensions length and width are you using for the dash?? Thanks keep up the great work!!
Very nice job. I was wondering where you've been! It looks amazing. You're an inspiration to all simmers. Looking forward to your next video.
Very nice setup, I am doing my research to build a home flight sim. Will a Logitech pedal work with a CH yoke? Dumb question but is your flight simulator (FSX or Xplane) running on the same computer and the gauges are extended to the display behind the panel?
