Oh wow, this was a brilliant video and great timing. I’m architecting my sims setups as VMs so I can have each VM dedicated to a respective simulator package, and am getting to the point of selecting controls and instrumentation. I had hoped there was something like Air Manager, so thank you for introducing it - it looks like it will be perfect for my needs…er, wants, especially since I’m favoring using Prepar3d, MSFS and DCS. Obviously, Air Manager won’t interface w DCS, but perhaps there’s no point in the use case. Can’t wait to try it out! Thnx again.
Hi, Can you share more information about how to set the panel on iPad for example what app you use to connect, the setting between the program and the app etc? Thank you
Thanks for all the comments, I'm getting ready for MS 2020 in a couple days. Videos coming soon after... RW flights on hold for now due to plane rentals and covid-19. I don't want to risk it...
Congrats good luck getting your PPL. Keep at it.. having computer knowledge will definitely help. Most new systems and glass cockpits are computer based.
Awesome build - I’m start researching how I want to approach my first build and I really like the idea of this iPad hardware in lieu of the other components. Thanks for sharing and inspiring.
Wonderful setup. About what I have in mind here. I have the 12.9 iPad pro, a 10.1 iPad Air, several Saitek components and three 28" 4K displays. I have FSX-SE, XPlane11 and will be adding FS2020. I have, however, been unable to get the AirManager to work with the setup... Any tips/guidance on getting that running? Can't wait to see your FS2020 videos...
Great setup! My SIM build is in the works. I'm going to use it for IFR practice. I'm also a central valley pilot (Modesto). Hope to cross paths at some point.
Good luck with your build! Aug 18th the new sim comes out from M.S.! Just in time. Have not been to Modesto (airport) I do however have a few vids of Oakdale with Karl. It's our go to refuel spot...
Great set-up. What are you running your 24 "monitoring" monitor off of? I thought in X-Plane, you couldn't show an internal and external view at the same time on the same system? Are you running two X-Plane copies in tandem on your NOIR (love that you named your computer)? Thank you!
At the time of this video yes, it is the paid version. ForeFlight only has a 30 day trial of the app. You can download the app for free but to use it requires a paid subscription. Although it is possible to use the app with simulation, it was designed for real world use as such there is not a free version available.
Honestly I dont remember, it was an impulse buy on amazon I think. Any stand will work, I just bought an adjustable one for any size tablet or large phone.
Hello everyone thanks for all the comments I appreciate it please send the video link to interested in aviation or simulation. I hope to get more videos out as soon as possible but a couple things to note as an update of sorts. In November we actually sold our house and moved so this current set up has changed. Our new house is currently being built and it won’t be done until July so I’ll do a new video on the changes. Also I hope to have more real world flights soon but unfortunately the plane I usually rent has been down for maintenance the last 6 months so I have been looking for another like rental so I’ll continue flying with good ‘ol Karl!! Cheers!
@@snuffy1pro I dont see the build list in the video descrpption...."Here is my Flight simulator setup. I have been asked by a few people why I don't have it on the channel so I decided to make a quick video of my setup."
As an actual real world Pilot I use Foreflight for moving map which can connect to X-Plane via your home networks wifi. For the two panel Ipads I use a program called Air manager and designed the panels to fit the planes I fly.
@@JimmyMcneil Hmm, not on the app store, Apple app id is "id1052587916id1052587916" The app developer is Sim Innovations B.V. You may be able to contact them directly as it's still on thier site. Maybe it's being updated. Hope they did not pull it. Cheers.
Thank you for this video and sorry for my bad English. Do you think i will be able to connect IPad, like you, on Microsoft FS 2020? If so, where can i find how to do it? Again, thank you
This is a fantastic build! Looking at doing much of the same thing, though I've spec'd an Intel processor which should take a modest overclock. I selected air cooling for my rig...but only 16 GB ram. You have 64 gb!!! Do you really need that much for a sim setup? I also intend to run Microsoft Flight Sim 2020 when it comes out...rethinking my ram situation but would appreciate your insight! Thanks!
Hello, thank for you comment. No, one does not need this much for the system however I crunch videos or have some other 2 or 3 things going on in the background while flying so the head room 64Gb affords me is needed. You will be fine with 16Gb for sure. Cheers...
i know where to get the mouse pad just search online world map mouse pad, i myself got 1 aswel but a different 1, mine is the Natec time zone mouse pad
LOL thanks it was not cheap.. Ikea stuff is about $350 plus shipping. insrgntv got the mouse pad stuff correct. Just an amazon search. Mouse is logitech MX master I think version 2 I have a couple of them..
UR the 1st... Those were bought in Japan at the Studio Ghibli super store. Most people ask about the 2 Suntory Malt Whisky's on the shelf, an extremely expensive gift from my father in law.
i would like to know how did you setup the ipads? thanks bro
Dude that is so sick. I am a computer nerd whos studying for my PPL rn and omg what a beautiful setup. Very envious..

I'd upgrade to a 49" ultrawide curved monitor or VR. Peripheral vision is key.
true, I like my wide screen. Adding track IR also makes for great immersion..
If you want hardcore clarity and amazing visuals stick to monitor if you want insane immersion go VR
@@snuffy1pro Thats not an ultrawide. The computer on the desk is overwhelming and distracts from your simulator.
thank you for proper cable management

Are you adding the 2020 Microsoft Sim? 🛩🛩
Still looking into it, not sure I like the Azure back end.... I'm in IT BTW and many moons ago worked for M.S.
Not sure how I ended on this page, but awesome setup! My turn to ask a question, what is the brand name of the 12.9 iPad stand ?
Honestly I dont remember, it was an impulse buy on amazon I think. Any stand will work, I just bought an adjustable one for any size tablet or large phone.
ah, too bad, will try to find it on Amazone :) The adjustable part is what triggered me. It also look heavy enough not to fall over quickly.
