This was the first song I ever downloaded as a kid. It took me the whole night with the pc on. I slept by the computer, my father woke me up in the morning and asked what happened. I showed him that from that moment on I could play the song on the computer whenever I wanted to without a cd or tape. We were both amazed. Now with just a click a can watch the whole video on my cellphone instantly. I wonder what we can expect for the next 20 years

Even though I take my cell and high-speed internet as a given now, I still remember this kind of thing on a regular basis and appreciate just how far it's all come. 1999: I hated the band. 2018 : One of the best pop group of alltime; AQUA.
They were just so far ahead in understanding world pop culture, it is insane. Think of this song. Now so many Cartoon hero movies out every year making billions of dollars. Barbie Girl is the perfect antidote to dealing with the plastic age of the 1980's and 90's. And yet there songs were still so much silly pop fun. And I love their new older mature music. Sold millions of records, yet somehow still underrated.

If I had to write a review of Cartoon Heroes, I would take ages. This is one of my favorites. It has so much packed into such a small length of time, and it doesn't run, it sprints. The team that put all this together really nailed it. Awesome.

Waaay back we had a channel here where you could call in and, for a small fee, request a music video by number. Every request number would show up in the corner and waiting for it was like waiting on lottery numbers and was almost as exciting.

I was at the age of 12 , during a graduation trip . I bought these Aqua cassette tape in one of the shop. I insert it to my walkman player , listen to this song along the trip. It is such an enjoyable precious memory. Thanks Aqua for creating this nostalgic feeling for me

Known as a green tea advertising song in Japan almost 20 yrs ago.
I was a little girl and didn't understand a single word but really loved her voice.
so I started to study English hoping to understand this song.

I actually learned about the song because it featured in the game Dance Dance Revolution Extreme, which was imported from Japan to the US. The song is about American superheroes but you could say it had "gone around the world" before it reached us.
Cartoon Network should've paid to use the song for their 20th and 25th anniversary bumpers. It would've been perfect

Wow, this song resonates in many dimensions. I knew a person who had an amazing heart, and passed from stomach cancer in our senior high school year. He and I saw this at a theme park on arcade dance dance revolution in the sixth grade field trip to Busch Gardens.
this band seems to put in a lesson very cleverly in all their songs. When i first saw barbie in 97 on mtv , I laughed so hard from the obvious sarcasm and irony, not just from the idea of barbie dolls but from the plastic nature of most of the media at the time. I never understood why most people just didnt get the joke .... Seems like this new movie doesnt quite get it either.
