This is the fourth round of 2019-2020 comp series from our Socal Premier RC comp club. This club is dedicated to hardcore scale comp guys. No lunch break, no raffles, no awards, and no mercy! It's strict SORRCA competition from beginning till the end of the day. Watch how the day unfolded on round 4! ( I missed Round 3 :( )

Ok. Sorry about the shaky video! I keep trying new methods of shooting and lately I was going for more dynamic and closer shots. Closer I am to the action, shakier it is going to look. Probably not for everyone't taste. I will eventually get it right haha. Constructive criticism is always welcomed. Please no bashing. Thank you!
It’s a little too fast when you are panning. I like the close up shots, BTW. It’s tricky to film crawling sessions.
If you want to do close-up shots, you need to get in close. Zooming only magnifies even the slightest camera shake. If you have to zoom, try some sort of weighted camera rig to steady the camera.
The pretty much stock Capra did great, exactly why I bought one.

@@slopppy75 im more of a performance oriented guy, and i do t think the scx10 iii will be good for comps, but i plan on building a rig with capra trans and axles on aftermarket rails
I built both of my comp trucks with trx4 portals. I think portals have potential but the downside has been the lack of steering angle compared to AR44. I predict AR45(new portal) will be the hottest axle this year especially in class 1. I will know for sure once I get my hands on one ☝️
@@slopppy75 i think the ar45 uses a very similar design to the capra axles, and you can even shave down a bit of the housing for even sharper turning. And if the gates allow, the capra width provides a more stable rig. Im not into C1, but i cant wait to see your vids on C1 trucks with ar45s competing. :D just yesterday i looked through your chanel trying to find a video i havent seen yet, but there was none.
Hi guys. On lockdown in the UK. At the moment i have a garden that resembles a rock crawler course. (much to the dismay of my wife.) GREAT for me ,now i have all this time. Plus the weather is sunny and dry. Great vid once again guys. KEEP SAFE in these crazy times.

Great video! The Capra run was really good, guy had some skills.
Keep it mind that the course was setup for c2 which is actually harder for c3 to go through because the course was narrower. I agree he drove very well
@@slopppy75 do you know the electronics on that Capra? really makes me want to have a Capra for Christmas.
Capra is a great truck but as with any RTR trucks, stock electronics are adequate but not great. My advise is to run it until it breaks and replace with better ones. Also consider new SCX10.3
Bummer they canceled the big sorcca event in Vegas. Hope its rescheduled and you get to film it. Love your videos.

Man that was a sick course with some killer lines. Yea I agree that Capra and driver are crazy good. When I see a Capra that is how I see it performing like a rock spider!!! Hahahaha was that Fire-fly driving that Bronco with Roadblock riding shotgun!?!
Yup Capra is pretty capable truck from the skilled hands! I am really liking how axial is keep raising the bar

How do you gear up the rear portal on that bug? Jeff's? Who fell down? Can you swap in/out in the portal box.
Jeff is running vanquish F9 portals in the back and Deadloc racing reverse cut front axle. Due to excessive reduction, OD in the rear portal is needed to achieve 40% overdrive. Optimal ratio for comp driving imo.
Neil Jones to get to the right overdrive percentage I also had to get the vanquish portal overdrive gears. Depending on what math you use it’s at about 34%

The truck chassis is Vanquish VS4-10. I have to get back to you on the body..

Great video, was the Capra running in class 3 and were the gates wider for the class 3 trucks ?
We didn't have separate c3 course as Capra was the only c3 truck. Gate width is 12"(c2) vs 16"(c3) so Capra was too wide for the course

I don't get the steering jitter as being "scale" one bit. And its definitely not "crawling" when you do that.
You get penalized for backing up, but are fully allowed an ungodly amount of steering flip-flopping to make a gate? This makes zero sense.
Anyone want to do the scale math on the forces required for you guys/gals to be flipping those huge tires back and forth on a 1:1? (while under scale load/weight)
You'll be shocked at how much these drivers do to save one point penalty. There are many maneuvers that you won't see it in the 1:1 crawling due to the nature of toy trucks; excessive power/weight ratio and MUCH higher risk tolerance.. it's all from the guys doing it for years and thinking outside of the box. Like it or not, it's part of the game. Thanks for watching!

So you are clearly here, creating content, for money. Might I offer a few suggestions? Namely, stop videoing people’s tennis shoes, and try to keep it on the cars. I understand that the place you were walking was not easy, but perhaps zoom out so you keep the car in the shot. Maybe even hire a competent camera man. I get it, I suck at creating content, so guess what, I don’t do it for money! I only make videos and share them so friends around the world can see them. But if you are going to let them out in fourteen commercials in a thirty minute video you might want to learn how to use the camera. Of course if it were not full of adds then who cares about all this stuff, but you want to get paid and that does not deserve money. Sorry man.
Thanks for the suggestions Chap. It may not look like much but you'd be surprised at how much time I put in to make one of these videos and how little I make. It also takes other resources such as paid music and software. I would love to share it without ad on it, but I don't feel ashamed to be compensated little bit. I am not a big youtuber obviously, and these videos does not generate any meaningful income at all. Also, I refused sponsorship offers, because I do not want to represent and push certain products to my viewers. Maybe I am not thinking big enough but as of now, hiring someone is not viable option. I do however, a plan to collaborate with other comp experts and make more informative videos. I'll keep your advice in mind.

I watched the video on the rules for different levels and that was great. Good info, though of course every group does it a little different it seems.
