So the show initially aired as sort of an anthology of "wouldn't it be cool to explore X?" and there wasn't a cohesive story that was in order, they just did standalone episodes for the first two seasons. Season 3 they started to tie in a few episodes to the previous 2 seasons, then season 4 and on they start following a timeline and things are in chronological order
17:42 So excited for your introduction to Ahsoka, she’s my favorite character and in my opinion has the best character development of any Star Wars character because it’s so slow paced and well built up. She also is technically the character with the most screen-time in all of Star Wars, so you’ll get plenty of her.
26:29 It’s sad though because Slick has a point, they are all essentially slaves for the Republic. A big thing George Lucas wanted to do with this series was not only fill in the gaps but also elaborate on his critiques of the Republic from the prequels. It’s funny though because a lot of people completely overlook the fact that George was making a point that the Republic wasn’t 100% good with the prequels, yet when new Disney projects like The Acolyte critique it similarly, people throw a hissy fit because they think they’re making Jedi the “bad guys” when the point is that it’s more complicated than that.
18:25 This is what The Bad Batch series is about, it covers the aftermath of the Clone Wars and explains what happens with the clones. This series sets it up. Bad Batch is definitely another one of my favorites.
18:25 It's worth noting (as mentioned in the films) that clones age faster than normal humans. The adult clones seen in Attack of the Clones are only between 10 and 13 years old, but their physical age appears to be around 26. With a 19 to 22-year gap between The Clone Wars and A New Hope, most clones would have aged "too quickly" to continue in active service. By this time, the Empire began recruiting regular humans for the Stormtrooper program, which was established shortly after the formation of the Empire. The only show that explores the period immediately after Revenge of the Sith and the formation of the Empire is The Bad Batch. It perfectly captures the transition from Republic to Empire and introduces some fascinating lore about what happened to the clones.
Yes!! So glad you’re starting this show. Not many people react to this in timeline order so thank you! It may seem a bit slow or boring at times, but the ending something truly special to watch. I was 3 years old when the first season came out and 16 years later, it is still my favorite tv show ever. Hopefully you’ll like it too😊
22:55 Another one of my favorite characters, Asajj is so cool and also has some pretty crazy development. Asajj and Obi-wan’s flirty banter is always entertaining.
There was another Clone Wars animated show before this one that came out between Episode II and Episode III back in the early 2000's (fans refer to it as 2D Clone Wars as it was 2D animation and not 3D like this one) and that's where the character of Asajj Ventress (the female Sith assassin who fights Anakin and Obi-Wan in this second episode) is introduced
Definitely watch in chronological order. The episodes were aired quite randomly because of the budget. It was a weekly series and the studio worked on several episodes at once but some episodes were more demanding in production so the episodes that were finished first were aired before to make it on time. Several arcs jump between seasons 1-3 so it may be difficult sometimes to get your head around while watching in release order
@@drugsincheetobags9409 You want me to explain why one should watch Star Wars the clone wars for the first time in release order instead of the chronological order?
@@drugsincheetobags9409 Allright, I'll gladly explain it to you. However, may I ask in which order you watched Star Wars the clone wars for the first time?
Every time I do a SW marathon I rewatch this show in between episodes 2 and 3. It makes the whole story much more tragic. The relationship between the main characters is much more in depth and it shows that the Jedi Order is not perfect and partly to blame for what happens to Anakin. Also the clones are much more sympathetic and tragic
@@Starkiller2725 same🤣The only objectively good movies to me is 3 and 5!! But the clone wars just expands and gives so much from all around the galaxy it’s truly amazing!!🔥🔥
Also, I don’t know whether it’s been mentioned in the comments already, Abby but the voice actors for The Clone Wars show are different than the actual actors that you saw in the movie/s. Minus a small handful of them, who *do* reprise their roles. Matt Lanter voices Anakin Skywalker (not Hayden Christensen) James Arnold-Taylor voices Obi-Wan Kenobi (Not Ewan McGregor) Catherine Taber voices Padmé Amidala (not Natalie Portman) Terrence C. Carson voices Mace Windu (not Samuel L. Jackson) Dee Bradley Baker voices the Clones (not Temuera Morrison) Ian Abercrombie voices Chancellor Palpatine (not Ian McDiarmid) Sam Witwer voices Darth Maul (not Ray Park) Corey Burton voices Count Dooku (not Sir Christopher Lee) The returning actors are: Anthony Daniels (C-3PO) Liam Neeson (Qui-Gon Jinn) Matthew Wood (General Grievous) Ahmed Best (Jar Jar Binks) Pernilla August (Shmi Skywalker) Katee Sackhoff (Bo Katan Kryze)
Try not to let the hype ruin this for you. This show takes a whiiiiiiile to get into the really good stuff. But I promise, it gets there. And once it does, it truly does become some of the best Star Wars stories ever put to screen. Just take it as it comes, deal with some of the early goofiness, and enjoy! Also, you're so pretty!! Ahsoka would be proud (although, her name is pronounced without the "h." Just say "Asoka." :))
Okay, so, Rise of Skywalker may be the last of the episodic films, but there are two more live-action films. I'm talking about the Ewok movies. Yes, there do exist movies starring the Ewoks, but they were made for TV. Only two were made: "Caravan of Courage: An Ewok Adventure" and "Ewoks: The Battle for Endor". If you liked the Ewoks, then check those out. It turns out they're canon, as they take place before the events of Return of the Jedi.
If You ever watch the saga including clone wars in spanish(latino) they paid attentiom to the detail of keeping the same voice actor in both love action and animated
The animated series was written and then then when it was produced they released as they were finished. And it may have been out of story order. By season 3 it’s chronological. Most of the episodes are in 3-4 episode arcs. So if you react to an arc at a time it will flow better.
Happy to see you start this journey into the Clone Wars, it's definitely a long one but trust me it's worth it. You'll meet a lot of characters you already knew along with a ton of brand new ones. One thing I will say for sure is that by the end of the show you will fall in love with the clones, they are the good guys forever and always. You'll see what I mean by the end of the show.
Thanks, Abby! ♊ You're going to grow to love this, I bet. Not only does it bridge a gap, it enhances what you've already seen. Plus, it'll prime you for related animated series, which I hope you'll get to when you're ready.
Hell yes! I hoped the day would come when you’d finally get ‘round to watching The Clone Wars. Strap yourself in, Abby. It’s gonna be a helluva’ ride! There’s a lot of character growth in this series and you’ll better understand (at least I hope you will) the gap between *Ep.II: Attack of the Clones* and *Ep.III: Revenge of the Sith* . I don’t really know what your level of adaption is but even if it takes you a little time to get into it, it’s definitely well worth the watch. As far as Chronological order goes, I go by: (Episode I) The Phantom Menace (Animated TV Show) Tales of the Jedi (Episode II) Attack of the Clones (Animated Movie) The Clone Wars (Animated TV Show) The Clone Wars (Seasons 1-7) (Episode III) Revenge of the Sith (Animated TV Show) Star Wars: Rebels Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (Episode IV) A New Hope (Episode V) The Empire Strikes Back (Episode VI) Return of the Jedi (TV Show) The Mandalorian (Seasons 1-2) Anything not mentioned here, I don’t consider Official canon to the timeline.
That person is correct it’s actually the clone wars was the start of star wars it is very confusing. I gotta say the clone wars is very good i recommend it anyone 😊
I feel I have to say something here about TCW. If I take the entirey of the show, I can't say it's the best SW thing ever aired. That would probably be Rebels (just in my opinion). TCW is so huge, there are peak episodes and low, very boring episodes 😁 But the peaks (especially in season 3 and 7) are so high and rewarding. The final arc of the final season is probably the best SW content ever, both in animation quality (they had real actors do the mo-cap for fight scenes) and in plot/drama levels. So it's a long journey, I wouldn't want to rewatch it all myself (but I've watched again and again my fav arcs) so bottom line is... be prepared to be a bit off in some parts if you're going to watch it all. If it was for a friend, I'd probably recommend to follow some "essentials" guide in order to jump the worst parts, given that obviously in some cases that is up to each one's judgement (in other cases it's just objective 😅). That said... It's so useful to really understand what happens between ep2 and ep3 and to better grasp the Obi/Ani relationship. And then there's Ahsoka, of course, who just by herself makes the watch worth.
I'm kinda late, but this is where the fun begins... Oh, I'm very excited about this now! I've seen people talking about how the start is kinda directed towards kids and it's true, it's silly but still can bring some serious topics to discussion. I hope you enjoy the start, it might be a bit harder if you don't, but regardless, there's way more positives about this show than negatives, I'll tell you that. They have incredibly great moments, great characters and amazing development from the main ones especially. A lot of interesting lore was explored in this series, and I think you will find it fascinating. Great reaction, I appreciate the dedication with the editing + the fact that you included more than 1 episode in the same video... You are going to try to bring 1 hour long videos and I think that's some dedication right there. It will be worth it, tho. Anyway, enough rambling, great reaction, I'm excited for what is coming next and it's going to be really fun to experience this journey through your eyes.
Not exactly. The story arc of the pilot episode is told backwards but it's only one episode per season and it doesn't have any real bearing on the overall Clone Wars storyline.
I love that you are doing this Abby. Really really appreciate it. I love the Clone Wars so much. Watched it when it first came out and I was around 12 years old. Thank you. ❤
Since you mentioned wanting a lightsaber if you ever get a chance to go to Disney world or something like that you should definitely go and make your own lightsaber
Clones are freaking expansive and don't live that old. Once the War is over, the Empire didn't have any incentive to keep them. Average conscripts (Stormtroopers) would be enough to maintain order.
Watch it in release order. It's the way George Lucas and Dave Filoni intended, and not some fan's interpretation of how it makes more sense if watched like a mish-mash of episodes throughout the seasons. Also, don't skip Phantom Menace. That movie kicks off the entire prequel series.
This is what the series for that WHAT HAPPENED TO CLONES AND WHY THEY BETRAYED THE JEDIS and killed them under order 66 without any question because they served the JEDI so long but still betrayed them... That is why I will recommend to what the whole series.... I didn't followed the actual sequence just kept watching all the episodes.... It was awesome
Oh man another clone wars reaction to the show I’m so on. Don’t expect good quality stuff from the first two season they are very hit or miss in their episodes. Also s1 has the most episodes that are hard to watch cus they are just bad but once you get through them the show quality improves much more like each season jumps the quality a ton from the previous one.
well, the lasts episodes of this series is on top 10 of imdb, whit this i mean that its true this series just gets better and better until be in top 10 of imdb
My advice...please stick with it. It's a little rough in the first 2 seasons but there is a significant jump after the 2nd another after that and it will get outstanding by the end. Remember, Lucasfilm had no animation department they've built up the team from nothing and as they've learned how to do more with what they had and properly streamlied the production it really took off. Story wise, its often very childish especially at the beginning but there are some story arcs that are simply some of the best Star Wars content exististing including the movies. When the last season came out the last 3 episodes were in top 10 of IMDB best TV ranking. It's really good stuff. For me, they completely changed the prequels. I always really liked them but I was not blind to their shortcomings. This show adds so much context to pretty much all of the characters and Anakin's fall to the Dark Side is much more gradual and tragic. It doesn't change anything regarding the movies but the next time you watch them they will feel completely different and you will appreciate everything about them a little more. Especially the clones. In the movies they're just clones in a uniform but I shed tears for them because of this show. It really worth your time and I encourage you to stick with it, you will not regret it. edit: to answer some of your questions and observations As the Empire took over after the fall of the Republic the Clone Troopers were phased out in favour of Storm Troopers. Making clones was very expensive and the tech was kinda unavailable due to...shenanigans. Ventress is a lot of fun and the banter between her and Obi-Wan is really good. As for the voices, you will get used to it It doesn't really register anymore. Huge shoutout to Dee Bradley Baker. He is the voice of all the clones ( and some other characters as well ) and he is simply phenomenal. I can tell what clone is it even if I dont look at the screen he is really amazing. If you want a good lightsaber buy it from theorysabers. There is a guy on YT called Star Wars Theory, a huge fan of Star Wars and he has a company called Theory Sabers. Arguably their sabers are the best. There are a few guys reviewing sabers and everyone is always praises them to be the bet they ever seen. If you watch his vid you will find that he has discounts very often pretty much monthly.
@@zurcf115 he's got a lot of haters such as with anyone with a large channel. The guy is a decent dude, but lately he spoke up against the way Disney handled the sequels and the IP in general. They keep trying to smear and cancel him which is IMHO means he speaks his own mind not following the "required" narrative.
The Clone Wars and Rebels first for context. Plus they are the cornerstone in which Mandalorian and Ahsoka are built. Many of the elements introduced in the animated show are continued there
Ah, don't worry about not being a Star Wars "expert", if there even is such a thing. I suspect the stereotypical neckbeards might be the ones who get mad when you forget a detail. Such things are quite common when cute girls "infringe" on "their" territory, no matter what franchise it is about. I realize, while writing this, that my comment about the clones not being stormtroopers might have come off a snarky, but that was not my meaning. The intention was to be informative, so, sorry about that. Writing can be hard at times. Just ask in the video if there is something you don't know and you are bound to get a proper answer, eventually :)
Definitely not. There’s a reason why the vast majority of fans recommend it this way and why every reactor watches in chronological order. You lose a lot of story comprehension in release order

Please please please keep watching in chronological order. Idk why there’s a few ppl in your comment section requesting release order, it makes absolutely zero sense. Every reactor watches in chronological order and the creators & cast themselves have even recommended chronological order. You really only jump around for the first 2 seasons and a little bit in the 3rd
If you are going to commit yourself to the wonderfull Star Wars the clone wars series, you HAVE to watch it in release order! Believe me, its the best way to watch it. Like this comment and I'll explain why.
Ideally you should watch everything in the order it was aired. Your order is strange. I watched all of Clone Wars in normal order and there's nothing strange or wrong with that. I would suggest you watch it in normal order... (I think this order affects the beginning more than anything, then it normalizes.)
@@AbbyJaneReactsNo watch it in chronological please. Otherwise you will be confused because it jumps around me and makes no sense. Chronological order is how it is intended to be watched
@@AbbyJaneReacts That's it, if you want to watch Clone Wars in the order you found it, as I said I think it only affects the beginning, after that it's normal. But if you plan to keep watching Star Wars series, always do it in the order they were broadcast.

Also s1 has the most episodes that are hard to watch cus they are just bad but once you get through them the show quality improves much more like each season jumps the quality a ton from the previous one.
I have never finished this series, watched the first season through episode 4 but gave up,
I’m going to give it another try. Hope u enjoy it!
Thank you, you too! :)
It’s worth it for the last 4 episodes alone
@@jaradsage8546 what order should it be watched in? I could be wrong, but i thought i heard there is some odd order to watch them in.
Oh I really can't wait till you watch episode 9!!
Oh, so all your answers will get answered at some point just keep watching
dont worry you will get more used to it than the movies themselves 😁
Great reaction abby ❤️ thank u
Thank you!
hope you continue
FOR THE REPUBLIC!!!!!!!!
long way to go but It's worth it 👍👍👍
well, the lasts episodes of this series is on top 10 of imdb, whit this i mean that its true this series just gets better and better until be in top 10 of imdb
Can’t wait for the day iykyk
Abbs check out the Ben Kenobi series set 8 years after Star Wars episode III called “Obi wan”
It really worth your time and I encourage you to stick with it, you will not regret it.
edit: to answer some of your questions and observations
As the Empire took over after the fall of the Republic the Clone Troopers were phased out in favour of Storm Troopers.
Thank you for answering those questions and for the lightsaber recommendation, will check it out!
I strongly advise against giving any money to Theory
@@theunknownuser9609 Why is that?
@@zurcf115 he's got a lot of haters such as with anyone with a large channel. The guy is a decent dude, but lately he spoke up against the way Disney handled the sequels and the IP in general. They keep trying to smear and cancel him which is IMHO means he speaks his own mind not following the "required" narrative.
@@neutchain7838 The problems with him arent just becaus he doesnt like the sequels
No matter what , You need to watch Ahsoka and The Mandalorian. x
The Clone Wars and Rebels first for context. Plus they are the cornerstone in which Mandalorian and Ahsoka are built. Many of the elements introduced in the animated show are continued there
The stormtroopers are humans. You have to Watch later The Bad Batch series
ANDOR THE BEST Star wars series
Whenever I see a video pop up from Abby I think to myself, “wow! She is amazingly beautiful”.
So nice to watch Natalie Portman react to Star Wars.
I don’t see it 😂😅
Hello there.
Where’s Star Wars episode 9 the rise of Skywalker
Coming this weekend!
@ rise of Skywalker my favourite Star Wars movie very different episode 8
You will become ahsoka tano cosplay, i sent a jedi mind trick to you lol
Definitely should have gone in release order. The movie sets the tone. That said, welcome to the best storytelling in all of Star Wars.
Thank you! Finally someone with my opnion, relaease order is the only way to first watch the clone wars.
Definitely not. There’s a reason why the vast majority of fans recommend it this way and why every reactor watches in chronological order. You lose a lot of story comprehension in release order
@@jaradsage8546 Who is is vast majority of fans who recommends watching it the chronological order? And just because the vast majority of reaction youtubers do something, doesnt mean they are doing it right.? And no, you dont lose "story comprehesion" when you watch it in the release order.
Yessssa!!!
Clone Wars reaction in chronological order ? Count me in !!!
You have a new suscriber
HYPE
Please please please keep watching in chronological order. Release order is very hard to keep track of on first viewing for “new” fans (lots of ppl who watched CW the first time had watched the movies multiple times so they already had a much deeper understanding of the world).
Agreed.❤
if you’re reading this Abby PLEASE DONT. The vast majority recommend chronological order for very good reason
@@jaradsage8546 Which is?
please can you watch halloween 1978
Bad bads series comming way happens clon truppers after war
@@fredrikjohansson356 holy fruit loops this was difficult to read but I get the idea 😂
Release order is right order for first time :)
Ideally you should watch everything in the order it was aired. Your order is strange. I watched all of Clone Wars in normal order and there's nothing strange or wrong with that. I would suggest you watch it in normal order...
(I think this order affects the beginning more than anything, then it normalizes.)
Everyone told me to watch it in chronological order 🥲
@@AbbyJaneReactsNo watch it in chronological please. Otherwise you will be confused because it jumps around me and makes no sense. Chronological order is how it is intended to be watched
@@AbbyJaneReacts That's it, if you want to watch Clone Wars in the order you found it, as I said I think it only affects the beginning, after that it's normal.
But if you plan to keep watching Star Wars series, always do it in the order they were broadcast.
@@AbbyJaneReacts Please watch it in release order. Who are these people who you are refering to who told you to watch it in chronological order?
@@boostorange641 no.
This is where the fun begins
