  • This is Bangkok’s famous Terminal 21. Terminal 21 is known for its location, which is perfectly situated right on bustling Sukhumvit Street, right in the heart of the city and you can easily access it from the BTS, Bangkok's Skytrain. We stayed at Grande Centre Point Terminal 21 and loved the hotel and location.

Stayed here in June for 3 nights, absolutely fantastic hotel in the most ideal location. Was never game to try the enema feature on the toilet.

Such splendid hotels in Thailand at great rates, in Europe or US you might pay 5 or 10 times more ..always enjoyed milling around airports people watching, had many great conversations on long intl flights and actually got job offers in other countries (China and India for two)..enjoy your adventure 🙏🏻👍🏻🇹🇭

Ning & I are glad the flooding in Chiang Mai subsided enough that you were able to get to the airport for your flight to Bangkok. You mentioned going to "the Bangkok airport", although there are two airports in Bangkok - Don Muang is still operating. (Ning and I use Don Muang for flights between Bangkok and Chiang Mai because it's more convenient for out private taxi service - her sister.).
You talked about taxi service at at Suvarnibhum airport, but isn't there a BTS line to Suvarnibhum that might have worked to get from the airport to Terminal 21? Depends on how much baggage one has to wrestle with, perhaps.
Your report on the hotel and mall at Terminal 21 was excellent and useful. Am I correct that Terminal 21 is located at Sukumvit Soi 21, hence the make for the facility and the nearby BTS station?
We fly the Pacific route to Thailand because the overall travel time is usually 6-8 hours less than flying the Europe/Mideast route, but your report and recent airline rankings have convinced us to try Qatar for our next trip. Our longest leg can be 11-13 hours from a US airport to Japan, and that seems looooong, so your 17 hours from Doha to Dallas/Fort Worth is concerning - does the seating configuration on a Qatar aircraft allow one to walk laps around the cabin when one's legs demand exercise? What comments do you have on Qatar's seating configuration?
Looking forward to your next video about your visit to the USA. I have friends and relatives in the Carolinas, we almost moved there ourselves when I retired but decided to remain in Saint Louis because of the big city amenities ina small city. (We may move to Chiang Mai in a few years after our son graduates from college, in the meantime it will be 1-3 month annual visits.)

      Thank you for your comments.
I would recommend booking an exit row seat on Qatar. Makes it really easy to get up, move around and use the bathroom when you need to. The seats are ok, I feel like all economy class seats on planes are not all that spacious, but for our 16.5 hour flight it really wasn’t bad.
Thanks for watching and take care! 😊 🇹🇭

I dont envy you having to take that 17 hour flight! Luckily, Qatar Airlines has a great entertainment system, with dozens of movies, TV shows, etc., as well as music channels, to occupy you. Makes the time pass quicker than normal. Wishing you a safe and trouble free flight!
