yeah, van was sachs' videographer or whatever, and then casey was a studio member under sachs, so while casey got "big" on social media before van, casey got big cuz the "neistatbros" was a thing first, and van did the vast majority of those early videos.
@@jasonfifi This. All of Casey's style and mantra was influenced by his big brother and Tom Sachs. He turned it into his own thing during his vlog period (he didn't invent daily vlogs, or made them big, as he sometimes like to say) but it's undeniable in his early TH-cam videos.
Van is a breath of fresh air in the creator-influencer social media space. Vimeo quality short films on TH-cam are a welcome course correction. Inspirational and aspirational in equal measures.
“Your workarounds is your style.” Wow, I’ve overlooked that. This is what makes us, US! Casey brought the SPARK when I was younger. Van brings the SPIRIT. Thank you!
van is my favorite youtuber. would absolutely love it if HBO rebooted "The Neistat Bros"; i think it'd do pretty well in 2021 with the accessibility of HBO Max
my mother was an artist. i grew up around artist my whole life. the very best artist have always been a little off. they see the world different than most ppl. van is a true artist. i think this is why i have been watching his videos. you can see he has a prospective that is different than most ppl. i love to watch talented ppl do talented things (being not very talented in these ways myself).in a world where conformity is drilled into kids head today. its wonderful to see a true talented spirited man do his thing.
Thank you for publishing this additional footage. Just so fing inspirational and such a valuable peek into how Van works. Such organization in that office clearly indicative of the quality of his work and intense focus on details.
I love the way Van thinks. I really enjoy his Spirited Man series. Thanks for showing me his workshop and thanks for the great interview that you did with Van last week. :-)
What really interesting is is that he keeps his idols and influences on a very present level. he mentions them all the time. seemingly never stops learning by cherishing them through his work processes. It's all there...
I love Van’s content ... the most refreshing thing to happen to TH-cam since his bro! The sort of chap I’d like to go on a run with and talk about life!
Van Neistat is my new favourite TH-camr. His story telling is second to none. I’d like to start story telling in my videos, but they take a lot more time to make and talent than most people realise.
it is brilliant. I am just like van in so many ways, and I find order, organization and neatness really helpful and a big part of my life. Aside from the actual "disorder" that plague some people, I am glad I have OCE. Nothing satisfies me more than finding something exactly where I left it. I have never lost keys, wallet cell phone because of the "enhancement"
OCS: Obsessive Compulsive Superpower. But I don't think you're obsessive OR compulsive, otherwise you wouldn't be able to ship so many amazing projects with "rough edges". A crucial distinction b/c so many "fix-it" people don't communicate or interact with others well.
He is a fascinating guy. I had always assumed Casey was the brains of the operation since he went on to such TH-cam fame. Clearly I was wrong. I realized it when I saw Spirited Man and how close that was to the HBO show. Spirited Man looks like something David Byrne would make if he was making TH-cam videos.
It's hard to find a less inspired "interviewer" than this. 5 minutes in and he is asking "okay, anything more noteworthy in here?". I'd ask so, so, so many questions to Van if I were to be in his studio!
Ha! Yes, it might sound that way but we had already hung out for 3 hrs and I didn't want to take up more of Van's busy schedule...Your should check out the full-length interview where I ask more thoughtful questions
Van is literally the only person on TH-cam who’s processing speed is as fast as mine. I’m not saying I have the same quality of thought but easily quantity lol
The Spirited Man is subscribed and also might like to watch this next --> th-cam.com/video/4UtGHXkGCxk/w-d-xo.html
Now this is sounding like it should !!!!
His manic passion is contagious.
Thanks for watching Alfredo. P.S. I love your sauce.
It truly is so. 🥺
Casey has perhaps helped Van here by getting an audience boost by promoting him, but Van clearly is a MASSIVE influence on Caseys creativity
agreed Meg, astute observation.
And you should see Tom Sachs' stuff, I think he played a big part as well.
@@diegopastor7515 I think ive seen it all 3 times at least :)

Thanks for filming them, @@BehindtheBrand. Two great videos about Van and what goes on BTS makes for great viewing.
Totally agree
I just want Van's TH-cam channel to blow up so he can buy his dream car
It's gonna happen, thanks Lancine!
Ican wait for the movie of him getting this dream car. That's one of my dreams.
You know that Van is already a wealthy man, right?
@@texasranger7580 Is he?

Good recap Dave
You can see how passionate this guy is by just his vibes.
He gets his power from his belt buckle.
This is fantastic. Van is my favorite dude on earth! His mind is fantastic.
Thanks Josh!

Seems like he has so many stories and experiences to share and there’s never enough time...luckily he’s an artist!
Soooooo many...and more off camera Danni

I love the fact that he has the book "A Light In The Attic". Prolly my favorite book growing up as a kid. 👍

Big fan of the Neistat bros and Tom Sachs. Their minimalistic and industrial style of storytelling/filmmaking is inspiring.
“your work around is your style” definitely applies to both neistats’ early cut & paste type film making
I love to see you so excited Van! Onward!
