  • JDK and Das speak with some of the crew of "That's All, Brother", a C-47 belonging to the collection of the Commemorative Air Force, Central Texas Wing in San Marcos, TX. "That’s All, Brother" crew members tell us about their specific aircraft and why the D-Day Stripes really are “Liberation Stripes”.

Thanks for this. Wish I had had the opportunity to see all this in 2019.

I've had the luck to have flown several times in DC 3's and C 47's with 'Winnebego' interiors to military jumpseats. If I had to describe what it was like, I've always said its like riding in a baby buggy or like a vehicle with no shocks, just springs, I loved every moment of it!

Did the "That's All Brother" ever finally land in Normandy sometime after it's troop carrying duty or return to England to stay?

During WWII there was nearly 20,000 DC-3 made...Still today there is 300 of them flying and they will fly another 100 years because it is the best airplane ever made! And the best time I ever had as was fly the DC-3! Over 3,000 hours, it is big, it is cheap and easy to operate and it never break! You lose an engine? Just trim a bit and away you got...One time it happen, the fog set all over the east of the USA! No problem...Zero fucking zero, you still go to your usual destination in the thick fog, landing the two wheels right between the white line!

Funny all the "news" outlets he mentioned about how important to preserve what those young pilots and paratroopers were fighting for are now doing their best to destroy what they were fighting for..

Somebody had to make a remark about current politics.
Is there anything sacred sans political reference?
