I miss the good old English language. Having a computer read someone’s written text is very distracting when things like Gbps is spelled out, rather than speaking what it means, “gigabytes per second”.

I agree, it's lazy and wack if an English speaker is using it. It can allow a non English speaker to make videos in English though, which is great.

@@intraterrestrial69 Interesting point about the non-English speaking people.
Hopefully these computer voices get better and more available to more people.

Well, if it helps, Gbps doesn’t means gigabytes per second, it’s gigabits per second.

it is my number 1 pet peeve. I would NEVER record a video on my channel using it as it irritates me so much I couldn't impose it on others.

The speed is important, but I am looking for the most reliable enclosure in terms of heating and durability. Can someone recommend an enclosure that you have been using for some time without any problems? Thanks.

The small Orico you showed is known for sure to get way too hot. It kinda sucks. The ADATA is the best out of the 10Gbps category because of its rtl9210chip, and has been tested by many sites and shown to stay below 60 Celsius. The bigger Orico is indeed very good apparently, but most people will not have the correct USB ports to actually get the max speed of this device, and it is very pricey. Be sure to check your USB ports. If you don't have USB 3.2-2 on your I/O bridge, but you do have a PCIe gen4 slot, you can get an expansion card to enable your pc to reach these speeds.

Only 1 of these is 40 gpbs, but of course it doesn't really use the top speed. All of these are faster than any of the Drives you reviewed: The ZekeDrive USB4 can go to 3.8Gbps and the StarTech 4 bay Thunderbolt 3 NVMe Enclosure (Model: M2E4BTB3) is probably the fastest. But I haven't tested either one of these or seen someone else's tests on them.

what's the point in buying PCIe-3 or -4 NVMe SSD, if you're gonna stick it into a 10 Gbps enclosure :( you're lucky if see even 1000 MB/s.

More like 500 MB/s tops, here is mine insight, I will be getting nvme ssd for multiple reasons - I want modern back up ssd while not spending money on expensive thunderbolt dics, lifespan of most nvme ssd's is longer than typical 2,5" ssd's, its much more reliable and convinient than any typical hhd's, also its very likely new type of USB will appear soon and new ssd's enclosures with it so I will just swap the enclosure if more speed is needed (I doubt it).

Thats correct, i could not even reach 5GBit/s transfer speed at various machines, all capped at USB3.0 speeds, depending on the JMicron SATA-Bridge-Controller.

By all means, i have got the UGREEN Enclosure paired with a WD SN770 barely reaching the 5GBit/s. It is such a shame, it heavily depends on the Host Controller respectively the Port you are using! Everything below USB 3.2 Gen 2 is not really enjoyable!

This sounds like an ordinary ad. I expect more objective presentation. An ad is what I expect from the manufacturer. Also, your no. 1 enclosure has got lots of 1 star ratings on Amazon.

LOL ORICO has such bad reviews with all of their products, speed issues, thin heatsinks with no contact to ssd, unreliable mechamism that makes you drop the ssd easily, doesnt support TRIM, seems like Yotta is the only way to go...
