I mean, something had to change, but if that O-Line gets him badly injured, I sure hope this was worth it for everyone cheering.
Jacoby is 1/10th the athlete, the same size, and was terrible at avoiding hits and getting rid of the ball quickly, and did not get hurt. I'm not sure why you think Drake is going to. QBs rarely get seriously injured anymore.

Oh boy. I wanted to give the new regime every chance. I still don't like putting him behind this terrible O-Line, but as everyone said, "Why this week?" Let him get his feet wet against a lesser team. Is there a plan? It seems like they're making it up as they go along.

How do you know this was not the plan? The plan may have been when Maye is ready based on what they are seeing in practice, etc and when Jacoby is struggling. They may even had planned for it to be sometime in October. Good leadership is to have a plan and stick with it, but not be overly rigid to pivot when needed. I’m sure the performance of the O-line and injuries had some factor as well.

its no coincidence they decided to start him the week after people started talking mutiny and callling for mayo's job. its clearly its pure desperation. maye will never be good but no matter how bad he looks, all the dumb fans will keep hyping him up, until he eventually gets dumped and replaced with the next guy and they start the cycle all over again

I just dont see an upside. If he is a baller then we lose spots in the draft order. However this lines brutal and hes gonna get smashed up every week and could end up ruining him before he ever reaches his potential. Remember love when he came in for rogers that first season was awful. A season of sitting later he was ready to go.

He will not succeed, and they will be drafting the next QB 2 years from now with their top 3 pick in the draft. No rookie can succeed behind that line with no receivers and no running game let alone one who was unprepared to start early in the season.
