To be honest takara tomy and hasbro should re-release metal fight remakes, same design just remade. I think it would be a smart marketing strategy, before the next generation comes out.

The primary issue with this is that it's getting much harder for players like me who want to bounce back into Metal Fight but can't afford to buy exclusively the authentic parts. Have you seen what most reshuffle sets go for nowadays? It hurts physically when I have to blow hundreds just for a couple of pieces, and the market on the WBO isn't as reliable as it once was. If these midfakes can prove themselves to be of even slightly higher quality and durability than those of Rapidity and Flame, then I say let people use them, as long as they can be proven safe. Beyblade should be accessible to everyone, not just the hardcore collectors.

fun little story: during my secondary school days I started what you COULD call a "beyblade club". it spread like wildfire once i started bringing one of those plastic stadiums from hasbro. in just a few weeks this made a good majority of the instructors upset, primarily due to battles happening on chairs while they were trying to teach. they had made an effort to make a stance that they weren't allowed, but they gave up at some point since it became way too widespread.... or because they realized we were just kids being kids. i actually didnt mind offbrands, they were still beys in my eyes as long as they span and whatnot, and considering nothing was official, i didnt see the need to ruin the fun for the underprivileged players. looking back we were playing lead poisoning roulette. 😭

@@priority6199 well there was a whole conference dedicated to try to set a rule in place that beyblades were no longer allowed.. which did nothing. beyblade was active for 2 years in the school, the first year was mainly about battling and stuff.. the second year was a pretty dead year in terms of battling, so it was more of a trading thing this time, which was nice since the teachers stopped coming up to me begging me to tell them to stop bringing them (which I doubt would've done anything lol). some teachers were cool with it though.. but 1 of them had their laptop broken due to a beyblade and for some reason that blame was pinned against me and not the person that actually decided to go against class rules haha..

A little late to the party there, but a very informative and important video for the community nonetheless.
As a collector myself I have gone through the struggles of identifying them apart in the past so I will list some tips here:
    For new in box listings:
    1. Code (at bottome of box) - last 2 digits should NOT end in 12, 13, or 14 as these numbers represent the year of manufacturing and metal fight ended in 2011 for the majority of Takara Tomy beys. If you can, ask seller for a picture of a code, if they're confident in their product they will be happy to provide.
    2. Box color and clarity - midfakes are washed out in color. Also look at the smaller Japanese text... midfakes have blurry text while real Tomy ones have very clear printed characters. (This is one of the ways I tell midfakes when looking at photos of listings, when code is not shown)
    3. Location of item - best avoid ones from Taiwan and China as these are where the midfakes factories are at.
    4. Sometimes they have sample photos of the contents, in which case use the tests below.
For second hand listings and beys you already own:
    5. Facebolt tattoo - is off-centered for midfakes
    6. Stickers - for midfakes, coloring is washed out and less saturated, while printing may be off-centered. A great example of this is Phantom Orion. I recommend DaimyoGT's video on Phantom Orion midfake comparison.
    7. Plastic moulding - the moulding of the facebolt, clear wheel, spin track and performance tip of real Tomy or Hasbro beys are very clean. Midfakes however, have a lot of excess plastic and jagged cuts.
    8. Metal wheel moulding - most obvious one... midfakes have bad moulding and less detail. A good example is Earth Eagle 145WD, the clear wheel does not fit perfectly in the fusion wheel for midfakes due to bad moulding. The Diablo wheel also has trouble fitting with the X:D tip and Nemesis' ultimate balance mode does not work due to it being too stiff.
Hope this helps for anyone who is looking~

It's one of the most heartbreaking bombshells when I discovered at least half of my 4D beys were midfakes, but I didn't know back when I bought them. I did however notice their odd quality, specifically their rubber tips, messier metal wheel moldings and strange text printed. What's more frustrating is the launchers even still say "Takara Tomy" molded on them. Thankfully, my rarer beys like Duo or Jade are genuine. Today is 2022, which is 14 years after Metal Fight saga debuted (The pre hybrid wheel lineup debut in 2008, then in 2009 comes the Hybrid Wheel system and Anime that we all come to know)..... or specifically 10 years after metal fight 4D ended so even without the knowlegde of midfakes people should've guessed that these so called "Takara Tomy" or "Hasbro" ones selling at that kinda price today is no way the real deal. A Beyblade once their lineup passed on would instantly become rare and harder to find in the after market, and this also applies to Burst too. Like example a Cho Z bey would become rarer once we have reached SuperKing or DB era, so even if even beys part of older Burst lineup is getting rarer then save to say that beys from previous Generations like Bakuten or Metal Fight is almost impossible to find an authentic one with a normal price.

    • @V2ULTRAKill

I mean you can find actual in box sealed takara tomy and hasbro plastics for that price or less. (Depending on bey, ones with particular anime significance are extremely high price, while insignificant but competitively amazing beys can go for under 10 dollars)
Mfb and burst are just expensive.

While I wholeheartedly agree with supporting the creators of Beyblade and trying to raise awareness of cheap knockoffs...at the same time...I feel like some of the blame for the presence and popularity of midfakes should be laid at the feet of both Takara-Tomy/Hasbro and Beyblade's creators; Largely because neither the creators, nor the companies in charge of distributing Beyblade toys, have really given fans of older Beyblade generations (especially for those looking for the rarer or harder to find Beys) any other options when it comes to obtaining said older generations of Beyblade toys.
And quite frankly, potential health issues with lead poisoning notwithstanding, I don't really blame the Chinese companies for choosing to take advantage of the market by putting out these midfakes. If the creators of Beyblade - or at least the companies in charge of distributing the Beyblade toys - aren't gonna make any effort to give fans of older Beyblade gens another way to obtain authentic (or otherwise high-quality) parts and Beys from older generations, then...well...what the hell else are we supposed to do?
I said it once before and I'll say it again: Beyblade's creators, going forward, *need* to create and support a robust aftermarket scene for their Beyblades. Not just the current-gen Beys, but *all* generations; From plastic-gen to Metal Fight and beyond.

I hate beyblade burst, the core mechanic that is bursting beyblades got to a point that is better to not burst them, and now they are built with so many teeth and anti burst systems, that for me shows me how bad it is. Recently I found my old collection of hasbro beyblades, like 5 month ago. My little brother got interested as well as my sister (and man, they're 16-17 yrs old, that's how awesome metal fight is)... I never experienced the 4D system. So I bought roughly 10 midfakes and they are awesome. If TT would still doing them I would buy them original, 0 problem. I mean is cheap enough to import them from amazon japan to my country. but they don't and I refuse to pay for a pre owned beyblade 100 usd+. I want to enjoy them metal, all of us. The prices for those originals are fucking ridiculous now, not to mention the scalpers who sell used Beyblades at even more obscene prices. And TT and Hasbro wanna act all high and mighty and neither re-release the originals, nor distribute their products throughout the world. So yeah midfakes are way better than burning your pockets for something that should be made available to children and collectors around the world.

    • @nuc

I dont think anyone is getting paid by TT or Hasbro "behind the scenes" to advertise products. "bub".
And there is no "high and mighty" attitude by these companies to re-release OLD products that aren't relevant anymore. If Hasbro and TT are trying to push Beyblade X... why would they release beys from 2 generations ago? Should Honda release a 2010 car again just because? No, that's not how it works. I also say throughout the video, and especially at 6:08, that I don't hate midfakes. I just have a problem with listings calling them genuine when they aren't. I appreciate you giving your opinion here, but I also implore you to do more research on the topic, and to avoid odd insults.

    • @advocate_of_HAKAI
      @advocate_of_HAKAI 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

@@nuc if they weren't relevant anymore, there wouldn't be fakes out there en masse, which are only getting better and more indistinguishable from the real thing. And TT wouldn't be releasing X remakes of classic plastic gen Beys if they weren't relevant anymore. And finally, there would be no scam to expose if the earlier versions weren't still popular and worth investing a large amount into copying.
As for the whole sponsorship thing, whales on social media either are sponsored industry plants or they have a shit ton of viewers and they earn back all the expenses they invest into these products. Rest of us don't have that kind of cash flow, so nostalgia needs to not be an expensive luxury for us.
