While fighting The Empress, block and countering (with a secondary weapon), in the middle of her combo (with that final unblockable attack), worked pretty well for me, when she uses a single heavy attack that breaks your defense simple immediatly start blocking again and wait for her combo to counter. Counter attacks really hurts her for some reason. I defeated her without taking a single hit playing on the Hard difficulty.
My biggest complaint about this game is that the whole game could have been avoided if the Prince had said "I'm here to stop the empress from creating the sands" and Kaileena had replied "Well, I'm trying to avoid my death, and the sands are released when I die, so just don't kill me and we're good."
But even though Kaileena had not died yet, the Dahaka was already chasing the Prince. So it doesn't really matter if Kaileena had died or not, because the Prince is still not supposed to be alive.
the Dahaka is chasing the Prince in the present, but in the past, the sands were not yet released, and if they were never released, the Dahaka would have no reason to chase the Prince, unless the Dahaka doesn't care about the current timeline and is capable of remembering things the Prince has undone.
Fun Fact : I you bought a pirated version of the game back then, the game just ends right after you kill the empress. Well, not really end, after the cutscene of him saying he was to go back to the present, you'll find yourself in the beach area again, but with no cutscene to call the Dahaka, so you have no way to continue the story anymore. You can still explore the castle and everything, but with nothing to do.
I always did find this part of the game to be so bizarre. The Mask of the Wraith is a neat mechanic, but it feels like it got dropped in with no prior awareness of it potentially being a thing. Yes, you see the prince using it before this, but I am mainly talking about the prince just happening to find a room that tells exactly what the mask is and what it does, the prior user somehow having been I think one of the soldiers in the opening bits from the first game, and finally why the hell was the mask brought back to where the prince ends up finding it. I'm prob just missing something, but it just seems like they could've done something different to write the mask in better.

Do you remember if this playthrough was done with live commentary or if you were talking over footage that had already been played through? I love the series, regardless, it really fills the Nostalgic Void I've been having ever since POP:WW as a child.
Hi, i don't know if you will answer my question but after i beat the empertrees i didn't get the save point or the scene if the dajaka, i only get return to the place where is soppose the cinematic to start but it do nothing, great series thanks to you i could ger this far on the game
I haven't heard about that particular problem. You may need to restart the game. Unfortunately, this game has all sorts of problems relating to moving back and forth through time and certain event flags failing to trigger properly.
In my game when I beat the empress. I did not come back from the present off cam. But still remain on the throne room in the past. Why is that and What do I need to do.
Ahh..why ma game is so differt to yours? After i activate both towers(save) and restart the game i was suddenly the black prince (sometimes you see him in the video)....mabye it come later did watch all parts...
It's a known problem. Some flag is incorrectly triggered somewhere and you become the Dark Prince at the wrong time. All you can do is restore an earlier file or restart the game - as long as you stick to the path pretty carefully, you shouldn't have the same problem again.

At the end of the game? That means you did something wrong along the way. You'll have to start over and follow the path more carefully.
