The economy and employment of southern districts of tamilnadu/India will improve only after madurai airport gets the following as explained by the madurai dignitaries like international airport / runway extention/ 24 hours service/cargo despatch from madurai airport. Madurai MPs MLAs concerned government authorities at madurai should take up this very important matter for the welfare of people at southern districts to the level of state government and central government unitedly. So many years delay

Attention for madurai airport has been completed lost when the moment trichy airport started it's expansion. And I am sure they will not take further activities for madurai until trichy airport completes it's work. Government is missed to see where the real potential is. Very sad about it. As senthil raja said, madurai is being ignored to save trichy airport.

we don't have enough flight from Madurai to Singapore . Only Airindia express servicing and not through out the weeks . Madurai consider to be one of the top tourist spot in Tamilnadu and it was not declared as International .. bit shocking . before land accusation please develop the existing infrastructure and flight number which is more than enough for current growth . Another worst part is luggage delay for 1 hour after crossing the emigration .

@@gokukn2336 if we choose srilankan airlines there are two flights, one is 8 hrs flight and waiting time is 2 hrs in Colombo airport
Another is 13 hrs flight , waiting time is nearly 7 to 8 hrs,
We have flights in indigo to where waiting time is 5 hrs in chennai.
The main problem we face in waiting time is only from our kids , they won't stay in waiting room for long time, they will be wandering , then we have to feed them , also foods in airport are very expensive,
Even for us it will be bore to spend much time
So if Madurai airport became international , direct non stop flights may come, so it is time consuming too , for everyone

As a regular passenger of Madurai airport first of all thanks to Dinamalar, as I know so many people rejected madurai airport because of delays in customs checking, even though customs stamping work cleared in 20 minutes passengers have to waiting for the luggage more than 40 minutes.
