    My Casio G-Shock solar ani-digi does the same thing with the power save mode. I keep it in a dark box just to have the fun of seeing it move when it comes into the light.

      On my digital solar G-SHOCK GMW-B5000,
      the power saving mode will switch off the screen if it’s between 10 pm and 8 am without any light source to charge it.
      And as soon as you touch it, it will switch the screen back on again. 👌

    Nice video. I'm probably going to get the all stainless. Already have the rose gold from the 2019 release and really didn't want to mod it get the Terminator mod. Thanks for the video. Keep up the good work.

    I have one of the SNJ025 and I think it's a similar size but it looks ok on my 6.75" wrist. It doesn't make sense based on the numbers but it really does feel a lot smaller. I think the lugs being close to the case helps a lot.

    Top down it looks fine. The previous release with the digi at the top doesn’t cut off the indices so much.

    What a cool watch Marc and built like a tank! It looks like the same dimensions as a baby tuna which wears incredibly well on my wrist. Not too heavy either. It's a winner for sure!

    These Arnies have always been a mystery for me. I should love em, but I'm on the fence and I don't know why. The size doesn't bother me, and I really feel the need to annoy everyone around me by saying "Billy dig me a way out of this hole" every time I look at it. The all-silver one's the best I've see. Thanks Mr F.

      I had an Arnie back in the 80s that did not last me very long but when the new version came out in 2019 I got the PADI version to go with my PADI Tuna auto. This new Arnie with Dive Log capabilities is GREAT I have had a few Citizen Aqualand JP104009E Analog/Digital Titanium watches that have worked ok but they were not Seiko.

    This is a very cool release. The price is eye opening, but not terrible with the additional functionality and metal case/strap. My only complaint is that when we get to that price level, I start expecting a sapphire crystal. On the original Arnie, I can understand Hardlex at that price point, but heck, charge me a little extra if they must to get sapphire on there. I like the SNJ037 the best, and of course it's limited. I've put on my buddy's SNJ025 and it wore very well on my 7-1/4" wrist. It didn't wear too big at all. I think these look fine on your wrist as well. I've been thinking of replacing my King Turtle with something more grab & go (solar). That new SNE591 is kind of nice as well. I was hoping they would put out bigger solar divers than the 38mm models.

    There is a lot to like about this watch. The size, the dial, the case, they all check my boxes. But the deal breaker for me is that sweep seconds hand. Seiko did a great job with the Mecaquartz which sends the seconds hand around the dial smoothly. Why did they allow the seconds hand on this watch to tick? This could have been the watch to end all watches. The potential of its greatness is just so close, if not for that ticking seconds hand.

    Is water resistance for basic use (washing hands/dishes) compromised when the pushers are exposed? I use my timer quite a bit and want quick access to them. When I swim, I would screw the pushers in, but I wanted to make sure it would be okay day to day keeping the pushers exposed.

      There are automatic Tunas, those that are rated at 1000m. There is also an older model, SBDC011 Tuna Fieldmaster, that is almost like the 300m Tuna, but with a bidirectional bezel. The problem with the Fieldmaster is that it almost impossible to find, I have mine for over a year now, and I've been searching the net for others that are for sale and I could not find any.

    So I’m guessing that the digital window is slightly taller than the previous model, that’s why they felt the need to cut the markers on the bottom. I personally think that looks awful. It’s like they said oh well. I like what they are trying to do, but the fact that you still get hardlex at a $700 price point is getting a little ridiculous. I don’t think this is their best effort.

  • @mountainhobo
    @mountainhobo 2 ปีที่แล้ว +7

    Looks like Seiko did some scavenging through parts bins and put together a frankenstein. Those who do not recognize the parts can tell that it's a Seiko by the fact that on a $700 watch we have Hardlex and pressed clasp.

    The problem with Seiko Arnie or any screw down pushers is that you need to take if off to operate it, which makes them useless. The old Arnie has regular pushers like Casio and it still has iso certification. I don't see any reason to add screw down pushers other than look. If Casio can make a frogman with pushers and dive to 1000m without issues, Seiko could do it too.
