Fisher, which used to make exceptional American-made HiFi gear, started going downhill as soon as Sanyo bought them out. Avery Fisher used to take home a prototype of every new model, test it, make notes, and have the prototype revised until he was happy with it, and only then did it go into production. SFS (Fisher, after Sanyo bought it), started out making lower-standard gear, and it just got worse as time went on. Not that Japan could not make good gear, it did. Pioneer, Yamaha, and so on from that same time frame was outstanding gear, and still is. I know, as I service vintage audio gear for a living. Sanyo just wasn't interested in quality.

Honestly, I have respect for the Sanyo era Fisher stuff because it sounded better to me than a lot of other Japanese equipment. I agree with the other commenter. That Pioneer and Yamaha were a step ahead. But I think the fisher stuff sounded better than Sansui Kenwood and others. At any rate, it was not bad. Even If not the higher end equipment it once was.
I would love to see you cover more home electronics equipment beyond the transistor radios usually cover, I enjoy stuff from this era.

I like everything I've seen on this channel. Since I'm not a collector of portable radios, but it's very close to my favorite field of interest, I find myself learning new stuff every time I watch one of his videos.
