This is the reason I love this community. The artists, no matter what form of art they chose, are so talented. The animation alone would have been beautyful, and the song would have made me cry without the animation, but together, they made something truly touching.
I came here from e621 after seeing that this is the highest rated post on the site. I can't even... This is one of the finest pieces of animation that I've ever seen. The art style, the dancing, the music, how smooth the movement is, the story. It's absolutely perfect. There are multi million dollar studios that can't even make animation this smooth. You and Tirrel deserve a medal.

i honestly wish that a movie could be made, in this exact style, showing the full story... and maybe if possible having a happy ending with both mother and kit... it seems so sad they were only able to share a short time before the mother sacrificed herself, none the less.. a truly beautiful piece from fox amoore and masterfull animation going along with it

I discovered Fox Amoore in one of Uncle Kage's Winestreams (If you don't know who Uncle Kage is, don't be reluctant to search him up) and when I found out that he plays the piano I checked out his website and subscribed to his youtube channel. I absolutely love the piano, it's one of my favorite instruments aside from the violin. I've always wanted to learn how to play the piano although I haven't had much luck with it. I can't really afford for lessons just yet due to that fact that I'm still a kid but I've been trying to teach myself how to play that beautiful instrument. I can actually feel the music playing with my emotions. I just want to support Fox in any way I can and I hope he never stops using his wonderful talent to make people feel... well, mixed feelings. (Sorry if I have any spelling errors. Like I said before, I'm just a kid.)
I can't describe how amazing the art style is. You give animators a good name. I didn't get the story though. It looked like at first a cat dancing in a grave yard, opening a portal to the afterlife, and exchanging her life for the child's.
Lovely story. I wish I could animate so I could make an extended ending where it show him looking up towards the moon, and with a tear in his eye and a smile on his face, he sees his mother looking down on him smiling. Thats just me though. Keeps the ending beautiful, and uplifting.
Several years later this piece of art moves me in ways that very few things can. The attention detail, the fluidity of the animation and the emotional connection the music creates with the viewer is unmatched. Truly excellent work, thank you again for choosing to share this so many years ago.

I even as a grown man, was drowned in tears when I first watched this. Tirrel/Cerberus is an amazing man. And Foxmoore is an amazing Composer, even though he used Parts of Hans Zimmer's "Tennessee" from Pearl Harbor, Still a beautiful Song and Animation no matter what.

But I PRAY that he also continues to take on the occasional (in his own words on FA) "artsy fartsy" project as well. Because IMHO he hit "Rescuing Ghosts" out of the park! This song is so good it brings back the most precious memories of us all and that is something that is very hard to do. In truth I can't say I've never felt anything from this its brought back very strong memories, I love this song and I'd recommend it to anyone who wants to bring back the emotional memories they've tried so hard to remember.
